Agreed... I even hear it through my computer speakers. I had auditioned a pair of Vivid speakers years ago (I don't remember the model), and I thought they sounded too bright as well.
0:29 i see something surprising I remember the old 10% of the budget rule for cables This changes completely that rule ? i have seen lately a power cord selling for 60kUSD
He has a lot of pedigree in the industry and was honest about his designs in the presentation which I found informative. No speaker is perfect for everyone though.
I have the little S12's and they are so punchy and amazing in a small room - I think these speakers would blow my mind - always difficult to demo at a show.... I think the choice of bass tracks you demoed was a bit poor....if you want something more usical I will happily send you my play list. All the best - just love your spear brand and attention to acoustic engineering excellence....
The name is Bruno Putzys, not "Putski". Also, Where those Vivids are concerned if they could assign a minus number for WAF, these would surely receive it. Those things are seriously ugly.
No, the name is Bruno Putzeys, a compatriot from Belgium. He is the inventor of Hypex and nCore class D modules. Co-developer of the Grimm LS1 loudspeaker, and designer of the Kii Three speaker.
I admire the skill, technological advancement and engineering. From an audio-engineering perspective I struggle to comprehend why domestic ‘audiophiles’ are so lazy to employ a simply inferior passive crossover and one power amp that isn’t directly coupled to the drive units. I still admire the genius design.
Are Mola Mola electronics that good, to power these monumental speakers ???? 😮 What must it be like with the CH-Precision series 10 electronics ??? 😱!!!!!
I own Von Schweikert VR9 SE MK2 upgraded also in black. It looks so much nicer than these speakers (with easy to move casters). It has the new Foundation amps for the 15" rear firing subs and a pair of 9" woofers. The difference should be greater for 8X the price (new maxed at 3.5X less) but wow it looks bad to obtain great sound in moderate size rooms. These weigh 1,500lbs a pair.
How it possible to do a so bad selection of tracks to demonstrate the quality of speakers? 120dB probably possible but here we can see a lack of passion for good msic to make demos. Engineering is there OK (with this father of the B&W Nautilus experience) with all the work on pipes, drivers, housing, materials...
People listen to all types of music, especially poorly recorded music, unfortunately, so in order to demonstrate a speaker for everyone's tastes, it makes sense to play a little of everything.
Really? Ha! There will always be things in life that we fail to comprehend. I can assure you not everyone will like your idea of good music. But just because you fail to comprehend their choice of tracks, didn't mean there was not any thought behind it. In fact i would venture to guess there was more thought put behind it than just listening pleasure. No slag towards you, just defending what I'm sure was a very substantial consideration of choices for the demo. Very unlikely the inventory of such a revolutionary loudspeaker didn't think it through. It's is possible, i just find it unlikely.
I like Laurence, as well as his design choices and loudspeaker philosophy. I’m just not a fan of aluminum cone drivers. To me, paper cone drivers always sound more natural and pleasing to the ear 👂.
Is there any limit to speaker size for house? Just look at the size of this thing 😂 even if I was a billionaire I wouldn’t buy this thing because I would wouldn’t able to get it through my front door 🚪 if I own a mall or a club probably
I can't recognize the whole electronics; it looks like that they used a "double DAC" for aesthetics / simmetry reason on the racks ? Do you have any clue bout the Mola Mola chain ? Awesome speakers, ugly as hell :D
God that sounds awful...did they honestly think this showcases the speaker...do they even have ears ?? And why are hi end speakers generally so damned ugly?
Nice!
Always enjoy your coverage. Thanks.
Thanks for going into this room. Really cool stuff
Speakers look like something from House Harkonnen.
I want to like them, cause i was relly impressed with Kaya and Gaya in, but GOSH they are kinda ugly. Why.
Wow, amazing!!!
loook impresse , recording is not so much if you ask me :( might be the phone used or something
Amazing .. =)
Quite a compliment to Mola Mola to use all their gear on those $500K speakers.
Yes
Also it's oftentimes simply finding another mfr. to share the über expensive exhibitor fees for rooms, etc.
I think Bruno Putzey have some cooperation with Vivid.
Sounds bright.
Agreed... I even hear it through my computer speakers. I had auditioned a pair of Vivid speakers years ago (I don't remember the model), and I thought they sounded too bright as well.
Were you actually there?
Maybe as bright as the recording…mola mola is neutral, it does not take sides, and those speakers are very transparent
@@serg2963 Vivids sounding bright? Never, must be the setup and / or room.
Have you never heard flat speakers?
Vivid Speakers with 8 woofers each must have shaken the building....
Indeed
Shaken the building to its core ... yet you can stand a coin on edge on top of the cabinet without issue!
0:29 i see something surprising I remember the old 10% of the budget rule for cables
This changes completely that rule ?
i have seen lately a power cord selling for 60kUSD
once I win the lottery, these speakers will be mine! also an aircraft hangar to house them in :>
It would rock any size venue
Madness. 500.000 for speakers 🔊. Down the rabbit hole.
Hopefully your next speakers Jay
They are truly Amazing
Too big for my rooms, but they will find an audience. The designer is legendary and created the original Nautilus.
Could you list the components used?
I'm not sold on the "high tech mollusk" looks of this speaker, but it's a stunning achievement. Thank you for the in-depth report.
He has a lot of pedigree in the industry and was honest about his designs in the presentation which I found informative. No speaker is perfect for everyone though.
Its all sujective, but I have yet to see A vivid product i did not find repulsively ugly.
I wonder how that would sound with a single ended amplifier, anything by Audionote?
Most likely not nearly as good as they sound with the Mola Mola equipment.
I have the little S12's and they are so punchy and amazing in a small room - I think these speakers would blow my mind - always difficult to demo at a show.... Are Thome Omni in sound?
Not omni directional... Just side firing bass divers

listen to them with Goldmund amps (Tokyo 2024), it will give you "another" result...🐦

do you want an amp for each driver?
Are Mola Mola electronics that good, to power these monumental speakers ???? 😮

Think because he is standing up while recording it is picking up tweeter sounds better when he sits down

The SHINS!!!

Huge loudspeakers, but i like more b&w Nautilus, from Laurence.. I still desire in my room. BR
missing a tube

half a million € per pair .... i don't see the right ratio with the amps or any other "ratio" ....................
Clean power is clean power. People who go "the amp needs to be half the price of the speakers!" Or whatever are fools
An Hässlichkeit kaum zu überbieten. Die Dinger sehen aus wie ein Schlauchboot mit Überdruck......
Sounds thin, bright. Little body imo. Electronics? Program material? The speakers? All of it? Not impressed.
It's the speakers... apparently their house sound.
You're judging sound based on a cheap mic and MP3 quality sound, so just maybe that matters..
God that sounds awful...did they honestly think this showcases the speaker...do they even have ears ??
And why are hi end speakers generally so damned ugly?
This wasn't the optimal environment for those speakers. It's more about sniffing their potential in a big dedicated and well treated room.
Do you know what you are talking about? I think not. They sound great and they look ok as well.
You must be a ball at parties ;-)
The streamer is dissapointing.... fail.
not relaxing
And terrible music 🎶 😪
Dear God...get a Salesguy to present these...keep the "goofballs" in the basement.
Actually that's a legend in the industry and the designer presenting.
@@AudiophileJunkie
He is a legend. I found his presentation genuine and refreshingly not salesy. Oh well to each his own.
