Also listen to and enjoy Turkish family folk music from Uyghur to Osmanli. Also spe t years in Turkey with a visit to Azerbaijan (there is even an Azeri language tv show in California. More than a decade ago, a Uyghur song and dance troupe ever came to my country Singapore to give a cultural performance. I just happened to be at the performance site and I enjoyed watching their cultural songs and dances very much. After that, the Xinjiang Uyghur troupe departed for Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
Singer Tash Muhemmed obviously has a strong, beautifully soothing voice and his companion dancer Mahire Emet is very fluid and graceful in her body movements. They make for a powerfully attractive combination on stage. Congratulations to them both.
Everyday I must come into this website to appreciate Uyghur songs as my daily routine.. I am very impressed that the Uyghurs are so talented as a people on singing, dancing and making music. I guess Uyghurs speak almost the same language as the Turks in Turkey. I came to understand that Uyghurs are descendants of the mighty Huns from past centuries.
I am a Chinese citizen of another country in Southeast Asia. I love the song sung by Tash Muhemmed and danced by Mahire Emet, although I don't understand a word of Uyghur. Nonetheless, both did a brilliant job as a pair, one singing and the other dancing. Very well done.

One day while visiting my late father's ancestral home in Kwantung province, China years ago I met an elderly Uyghur street peddlar. He was all smiles and soft spoken in Mandarin, selling walnuts to make a living. I bought 2 kgs of walnuts from him. Actually I wanted to buy more, but I couldn't because of the heavy weight I had to carry with me while travelling with a tour group. Minority groups in China are quite interesting.
i am a chinese and i wish one day the uyghur, tibetan, mongolian and other languages become part of chinese students' curriculum and there is genuine mutual respect between the nations. i also wish that regardless whether gaining independence in the future or staying in a union with china, my uyghur brothers and sisters remain secular ~
