Stop regurgitating these silly talking points. it's almost as if you people have nothing else to say.
What's actually happening is that one side thinks their prophesy is to take over and build a temple to prepare for the coming of their "Messiah" and the other side is defending itself from colonialism, theft of land, exile, and genocide. One side does view itself as superior (God's chosen people), while the other side is just protecting what's already there.
Your point is like saying the Native Americans defending themselves from the Europeans was because they thought their religion was superior to Christianity. It makes absolutely zero sense to frame it that way, it's completely tone deaf to what is actually happening on the ground.
