Foxhound 2 - Patrol Base Styx
ENEMY SIZE AND ACTIVITY
Foxhound 2 has taken contact first with the Insurgent organization in the direction of the town of Chaeh Chab Trei, at POI 1 and POI 2. Given their unit placement and desire to fight and reinforce, we estimate that around a Company of these insurgents must have been located in the area, with an HQ possibly being in Chaeh Chab Trei due to their use of Motorized Vehicles that can not be transported across the river.
We do not know how well the Insurgent faction coordinates with the Paramilitary one, with who we engaged at Objective Hotel and Papa across a small area, similarly the Paramilitaries attempted to counterattack at Objective Papa, proving that they have the men to spare.
The Insurgents appear to be profiting from Cocaine production and distribution, as seen at POI 1. The MI-8 helicopter spotted at POI 2 is suspected to be a vehicle intended for transport of these goods.
Both factions are confirmed to be abusing the civilian populace by extortion, robbery and kidnapping. Reported initially by a HUMINT source we interacted with on the way to POI1, later confirmed in person at Objective Hotel.
ENEMY EQUIPMENT
The ENY posessed soviet-era small arms and infantry equipment, as well as Motorized elements being spotted such as BTR-40s, BTR-60s and BRDMs, as well as one MI-8 transport helicopter.
The ENY also uses IEDs on key positions, such as the ones spotted at Objective Papa.
ASSESSMENT
The ENY is confirmed to have a tight grip on the area, with a plethora of positions on strategic points, while also using the jungle to their advantage by deploying scouts that report our movements to an undetermined chain of command.
The ENY also is using civilians as a means to protect themselves from a superior force.
