  • Lake Prokoško is located on the mountain Vranica, Bosnia and Herzegovina and is of glacial origin. It is located at 1636 meters above sea level. It is 22 km from Fojnica. Due to numerous illegally built cottages where catering services are provided, the landscape of the entire lake has been "destroyed". In the wider area of the lake, there are endemic species of flora and fauna. In the lake there is still an endemic specimen of the amphibian - the newt. It has been a protected area since 2005. It belongs to the "natural monument" category. The lake can be reached from Fojnica, on a 21-kilometer road, mostly on macadam. There are signposts along the way. Entrance is charged. Around the lake there are about 250 illegally built cottages where catering services are provided.
Among the morphological diversity, the following peaks can be singled out: Debelo brdo, Glavica, Ćoso, Tikva, Treskavica, Zelena gromila, Stražica, Runjvica, Vratolom and Krstac.
