    Always great to see a little insight into the logistics of a trip like this. Thanks for sharing!

    We had some of our crew fly out of that runway spring of 19, I hope to see it again some day , that area is magical.

    We did a 2 raft trip (2 couples) from Indian Creek a few years ago. Forest fires filled the valley with smoke so flying in under low visibility was exciting! Lots of work for only 2 couples with carrying drinking water from across the landing strip the hardest. Wish we had those inflatable rollers because we had to carry our 18' and 16' rafts across the beach. Still a great adventure. It was late in the year so we were the only rafters at the put-in.

    Zach, love your comments. On a middle fork trip years ago we had our beer ( outfitter) stolen at the put in. A private trip from Georgia was the most suspect. There are a lot lot of bad boaters on our rivers. Be nice and treat others well.00

    I can’t believe you’d fly a sweep boat in? That is nuts.

    historically, when they close Boundary to Indian Creek and all trips (private and commerical) are starting at IC, does the forest service still hold the campsite round robin at Boundary Creek?

      The camp round robin is generally done at Indian in August even if the river is open

    So if your group deadheads from the top (say late Aug) and get heavy stuff (coolers/beer/etc) flown in, does someone from your group have to fly with the gear?

      The air company can leave it on the airstrip

    Do you guys hand pump all your boats or bring a car battery and electric pump?

    • @GearGarageTV
      @GearGarageTV  2 роки тому

      Hand pump - the battery powered pumps are not allowed in wilderness

    If anyone knows of a more genuine and informative rafting channel let me know.

    Do you try to limit taking some stuff when you fly in everything? Or is usual stuff necessary to maintain customer experience. Do you tip the pilots?

      We do try and bring less stuff but we're careful to not let it affect guest experience. No we don't tip the pilots.

      We took everything that we take on desert trips. Volume was much more the issue than weight on the 206s...they didn't even weigh anything. 13' boats and a phatcat. No problems at these flows, but we did get a bump from the rain 1.87 at Indian creek 2.01 flying b. We did tip the pilots, they're risking their lives for your vacation. They are professional aviators not sherpas
