Sounds like Alice n Chains on acid on a dark psychedelic nite:)
for every one thousand stoner rock albums there emerges a gem from an ocean of derivative bong water.
Someone must have been sprinkling dmt on the bowl ; )
Well said, Captain! Avast... Here there be treasure!!
This is the perfect comment. So many generic and bad bands on this page. Maha Sonoha shows how if you focus on quality and take your time writing the songs the music outcome is much better. No ridiculous special effects or overdone distortion. Just solid vocals and groove. It's not rocket science.
@@JesusChrist2000BC and in all honesty its not a superb record but still a very nice one. I don't think a lot of these bands put enough time into their craft in trying to stand out. Why even put something out there if it sounds exactly like a hundred other albums? It's senseless.
@red v⃫ what about them?
Wow...! Maha Sohona means one of those mythological demons in my country (Sri Lanka), It is amazing you guys use the same name. :) this is the first time I've seen a Sri Lankan kind of word on an international band. Thumbs up! love your music. this is how we write it in our local letters. "මහා සොහොනා"
That’s really cool! That’s a fun fact I’m going to keep in my pocket!
Thank you, super happy that you like our music! I've been to Sri Lanka a couple of times and that's how I picked up the name. Btw, we also have an old song called "Peak of Ella" available on our Bandcamp page.. 😎 Thank you for sharing the Sinhalese writing, will definitely use that for something! Wish you a great weekend 🙌🙏
What Great Sohona is representing? It's that hindu or buddist diety?
Waiting on the shirt merch 👌
Holy shit yeah man !!!!! As a sri lankan/Australian I was so shocked to see the band name. Fits the music perfectly too
I'm going to listen to everything thing here that this band has and feel privileged
Came for the artwork.... stayed for the tunes. Gets me every time.
🤣🤣
👍👍
Yeah, I don't know. I'm not walking into that structure; it looks predatory. Using the same power source as the humans? Run away, as they sing, indeed.
I snag an album like this and I'm transported back decades to my room with the black light posters going and staring at the cover art. It's how it was meant to be.
Yeah, happens to me quite often too. The name of the band tells it all and when I listen to the music, I'm flipped out !!!
Same for me right now
Clicked for the artwork, stayed for the music.
Very Pink Floyd meets black sabbath meets hendrix vibes...very awesome
I hear some Tool also
A tinge of Type O negative
You just made me curious enough to stay and check it out 👍
Kinda zakk wylde'ish. Without the brutal lead...
Caught my 👁️ on the messages about 90s rock. I'm a 80s 90s brat! Pretty trippy kinda remind me of a hybrid Jane's addiction and Alice n chains.
Opeth vibe on that first track!
You could just listen to this channel every day and have a great life. Confirmed by Science!
Great artwork hauntingly beautiful music! Very pleasing to my 71 yr old ears👍☮️
Remembers me a lot of Down. The song "Nothing in Return" comes to mind.
It's a great song! I've listened A LOT to Down, mainly NOLA and II though 😊
what a nice spliff blended guitar.
the BASS is just perfect
It’s amazing how well the algorithm finds music I enjoy lol
Looking at peoples vacation photos of Sri Lanka to this music is awesome. I'd love to vacation there. This album would be what i'd jam while there.
With as shitty as the world has been lately, it means a lot to me when a band like this puts out such a deep and beautiful album. This music is just perfect and exactly what I need to help maintain balance. It is truly appreciated.
Same 😎
the lead singer sounds like that dude from Black Label Society.. is this the same guy?
@@raidermaxx2324 no its not zakk wylde lmao
Well said Count. How can such a horrific demon be this healing? They are the anti-Maha Sonoha...or what? If I ever faced Maha Sonoha i would want these guys with me!!!
This specific type of music isn’t much to my taste, but modern rock bands in general are the only thing that keeps me going through all of the shit. Music is like an actual physical engine that I can feel powering my body-I wouldn’t be able to move without it, would just curl up and die. My top six favorite bands are Thundermother, Jess and the Ancient Ones, The Oath, The Bridge City Sinners, Blood Ceremony, and Twin Temple. I need cleaner, more energetic stuff. Most “doom” is too hard on my unfortunately very sensitive ears :/
Edit: Just wanted to add that when I say “very sensitive”, I mean _extremely_ sensitive... I’ve been housebound for years because I can’t be around certain noises (like, for example, car engines, and probably most music that would be referred to as “heavy”) because they damage my ears. It sucks ass. I have to be extremely careful. It’s really fucked up that the thing that keeps me alive is one of the main threats to me :/
Edit 2: Just wanted to add that another way that music keeps me alive is by blocking out dangerous noises from the neighbors (like, for example, guns, fireworks, farming machinery, lawnmowers, and vehicles). So it’s important to me in that way, too. I can’t wear noise-canceling headphones because of the pressure they put on my ears, so I have to rely on having just the right kind of music to listen to with lighter headphones that will block out harmful noises without doing harm to me itself.
Ah, where would i be now without the UA-cam algorithm....
It's one person that's on a
power trip. It doesn't matter, because it never has stopped me.
During the first 30 seconds of the second song Just before the lyrics the shepard dog across the street barked. I thought it was in the music. It sounded TOOOOOOO cooolll it really mystified the song.
Perfect.....
Man this brought me some serious joy today
I half expected this to be an instrumental group after listening to the first minute of the album, but once they came in with the vocals I was immediately hooked.
全てのスマートBGMタイムは東京メトロポリタンテレビジョンTOKYO MX様などが流してくれますよ。資源統一ですよ。どす恋BGMワールドですよ。
This sounds so much like Temple Of The Dog, and early Soundgarden / Mother Love Bone... Wow...
Perfect, my favorite genre: Space Rock.
The guitar tone felt like a hug... and yes the Sri Lankans love you right back!
This music simply brings me to another world… Thank you ❤
Gotta say playing No Mans Sky with this in VR is something Amazeing =]
this reminds me of david bowie, soundgarden, mixed with the band DOWN.. great tunes
When I saw the title Luftslott I got really intrigued - Luftslott meaning Air Castle or Sky Castle in Swedish - meaning a pipe dream or something imagined with little substance, and yes indeed they are from my home country Sweden. That made me really happy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much....;-)
Stunning!
This has incredible unique personality. It's like...forgive the comparison...Robin Trower had a baby with Tool and abandoned it in a frozen tundra filled hellscape with only some musical gear and some DMT.
For me, this has a strong 90's vibe. Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, STP, Tool... maybe a few others. Hope you take that as a compliment, because the 90's was the last time I truly enjoyed Rock!
Thank you, of course we do! We grew up on AIC, Soundgarden, STP and Tool 🙌
It has a lot of the Cafe del Mar albums of Jose Padilla.
We must allow ourselves to expand and explore all kinds of music. Music is such an amazing art form! Bands grow, bands find new sounds from different influences.
the artworks looks like Heavy Metal Magazine
I haven’t listened to much ‘90s music compared to other decades, but I was getting a strong Alice in Chains vibe from it, too.
My life couldn't have been complete if it wasn't for finding this beauty in it
This is awesome
Älskar er av hela mitt hjärta. Luftslottet ger mig rysningar av välbehag!
Tack så mycket! Väldigt kul att höra! 🙏
Totally love it... out of this world 🌎
Giving me Alice in chains vibes. It's a misty rainy stormy morning here in the mountains of Victoria. Perfect album with a breakfast coffee.
I love this album! Takes me back to the 70's.
Damn, this is good.
Sounds Good Thanks to Maha Sohona. I'm from Korea
The bassline in A Black Star was fucking sick
Listening to this in the midst of a war, it really helped to relax for a bit. Thanks from Irpin, UA.
Real good👍
all I can say is WOW 😲 this popped up totally random on my You Tube feed and I clicked , 5 out of 5 stars !
great album, reminds me a bit of Mount Hush
Amazing Allbum... inspired me to build a Space Exploration D&D Campaign for my friends
Super🤘
yo that album art is sick
I am addicted to the drums on this.
Phenomenal Psych Metal! Just the medicine I needed!
Супер
Just listened to this for the first time, stoned I might add. That was the most chilled and inspired I’ve been years. What an amazing work this album is, it just flows so effortlessly.
Finally !
We will continually search for something, till draw our last breath on this on planet. Hail thee Eternal Heavy 🔥
Quality product. The algorithms are working today!
Absolute banger, best album I've heard in months. I reccomended it to my band mates. Feels like AIC in space
True Rock Sound Lives Under Ground
It's a snowy day here in the High Desert of Colorado. What a great album to listen to while drawing. Thanks for this boys!
It does seem like perfect winter music. Here in Chicago today it's below zero and completely still outside. Just pale sunshine. Everything is completely frozen and silent as if the Earth has left its orbit and is drifting off into the void. This album is the perfect soundtrack for that.
Cool man
Here in Patagonia Argentina, a quiet summer night ...
@@orlandoyapura I can't wait for our summer nights!!!
@@orlandoyapura It just amazes me that we can connect like this halfway around the world. When I was a kid we only had a phone with a dial on the wall in the kitchen. The long distance phone bill would have been like $1000 😃. Cheers and blessings from freezing Chicago ❤🙏
Love the softer parts. Another solid, unfamiliar upload!
Music just keeps getting better. I like that
Chill music with nice vocals and production. Doesn't hurt that the cover is awesome too!
Dont judge an albulm by its cover.
Album covers are reflective of the artistic vision of the band members. Therefore, taking the album cover into consideration when judging an album is a perfectly legitimate form of assessment. Album covers (especially for underground/independent artists) are different from book covers because the cover design for a book is often chosen by the publisher, and is not necessarily reflective of the artistic vision of the author.
Yeah it’s so dark and beautiful
It's a beautiful piece of album art.
do you know who is the artist?
This has a very Toolish vibe to it.
I like it.
Ending riff is some quality Matt Pike worship. Early Yob even.
Hard to say exactly why, but a real favorite. Especially later in the afternoon, in the office trying to stay awake...sounds great on the little computer speakers. A level above.
I hear a little Pink Floyd...nice work
México here!! 🤟🏼🎶🎵
Hidden gem with incredible cover art
в современной беспонтовой музыке редко, но попадаются исключения , эта команда одна из немногих!❤
Smooth with teeth. Loved it, 3 times in a row, and counting
This diamond just popped up on me out of nowhere. I instantly fell in love with this band and now here I am.
Welcome
Same here
Omg, Sci-Fi, Space, Grunge~Tool style. What a mix. Just awesome! NOW I WANT TO SMOKE A JOINT,
Best cover that I saw in a years
I dig this...I know this is an over simplification...but...if Layne Staley and Beck had a kid...and that kid sang for Soundgarden.....
Freaking awesome. I listened to this for a period of weeks while I was exploring star systems in Elite Dangerous, which I think is exactly what it was made for.
Rush 2112 is good for that too
One of the best LPs of 2021
The mix in the intro is so good, those drums come in and fill the space so well, absolutely love it!
Perfect jam for me and my lady to get down!
This album is sublime! Thanks for sharing and for the introduction to these guys!
I was just on youtube looking for something to watch and found this band. Incredible sound!
Amazing album from start to end!
Discovered this today, sounds awesome! Thank you!
absolutely great. Thank you for this well-matched chord chain.
Aloha from Hawaii vibes with the North Shore.🌴🌺🌴🌊
Would love to come and surf the north shore and play a show! 🌊🙌🎶
@@mahasohona2207 Hawaii welcomes you. Cool band and great talent 🎸🌴💜🌴🌺
Almost getting alice in chains/layne stayley vibes from the first song.
Sooo chill! I love it
This is chill and great to listen to. Glad it came up in my recommended.
Very chill psychedelic progressive rock. It’s giving me a strong Robin Trower vibe.
I'm glad I ran into this one!!! The tones are amazing!!!
I really loved it 💯 🔥 blessings from Chile🇨🇱 to all you brothers and sisters 🤘🎼
This is the best UA-cam suggested video I've come across in 2022 so far.
Stumbled upon this on accident, and DAMN what an album!
I love this! Will definitely be buying it shortly.
Some fantastic grooves going on here. Great record!
very good..................................
Thank you, gives me those Kyuss vibes!!! Excellent album.
Best channel for badass underground music!!
This is the sound northern lights make. 👍🇸🇪
This is awesome! Cant wait for your next work!
I dig it. I love it! Thank you for sharing
Just what I was looking for....puts me right in the mindset I need to deal with life. I am blasting this fantastic album to all of my communities. BRAVO Maha Sohona!!
