It’s a precedent that just cannot be allowed to be set. It really does hurt to say it, but America has regressed socially to a very significant degree in the past seven years.
This kind of legislation intentionally uses broad, vague language. Legislators do the same thing with abortion bans. They want to scare people badly enough that organizations and people are too worried to go anywhere near the topic. Their hope is that venues will no longer host any drag show because they’re too afraid of the liability. I'm not a Christian, but having been raised that way (and at one point, being a single college class away from earning ministerial credentials when I walked away from all of that) I can tell you his answer: celibacy and the single life. The Christian answer to gay people who cannot "fix" their "urges" is for them to choose to remain celibate and unmarried. It's literally what churches tell gay people these days. So in this guy's America, you wouldn't be forced to marry someone of the opposite sex, or to put a woman in the position of an unhappy marriage. You'd just have to stay single. It's f'ed up.

The other wants to be upset because we won't cater to their childish demands. Unfortunately, the bad guy has more money, resources, and motivation. While we expect somebody else to solve everything for us. And they're using that as leverage against us. We don't have their pragmatic thinking. We don't have cohesion or long-term planning. There is a certain type of individuals at ALL evangelical churches. They're almost always involved in most aspect of church and are usually the nicest people. If a gay person is manipulated by religious people they trust before they learn to love themselves for who they are as an individual, that's what happens They become almost like nuns. No children. Never have loved someone or even dated someone. You can spit them easily as they're constantly "on fire for God" and invested like no other. In hindsight, I realize those were all tormented souls who surely hate themselves. Every sermon that speaks of being gay as some sort of twisted perverted illness must hurt like no other. I've been to discipleship training and was a worship/youth leader before I came to my senses and grew out of my naivety. Though I'm not religious anymore, I feel growing up in the church was good for me in some ways but till this day I think of all those people that everyone's baffled have never dated at age 50 The amount of self hating closet gay people church creates is ridiculous. 1:49 what I noticed is that he uses the word “morality” instead of “religion”. Because most people who oppose these anti drag bills often say that people shouldn’t be allowed to impose their “religion” on others. In truth we have many laws based in morality. Laws banning theft, murder, etc… most things that are illegal are also considered morally wrong. Which is why I believe he chooses to replace “religion” with “morality”. Because it makes the argument or seem more ridiculous than it actually is. Because Religious beliefs can literally say “thou shalt not paint thine own finger nails”, and be viewed as correct by those who belong to that group or ridiculous by those “heretics” who exist outside that group. Religious beliefs can be very particular and even impractical. While morale and law tends to be more practical.

Those were added by Congress 62 years later (1954). The U.S. didn't issue Paper Currency until 1861, & 'In God We Trust' didn't appear on it for 96 years (1957). “As the government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian Religion" ~ Treaty of Tripoli; initiated under President George Washington, 1796, signed into law by President John Adams, 1797, ratified unanimously by the Senate, 1797, published in full in all 13 states, with no record of complaint or dissent. Drag has been around for decades and its practice was basically untouched, until very recently. What's changed?
@Squ1
RuPauls Drage Race. Media attention and the rise of drag. I personally love drag and think it adds a new flair to culture. At the same time, there are drag performers I wouldn't want my kids to see, based upon their shows. The same can be said for comedians and actors or public figures. It really depends on what I want my child to see and understand, and that responsibility rests with me in making decisions for my child temporarily until they grow up. There are some things my child will see and unsee, and as a parent, I have to roll through the punches and explain it to them. There are some drag race performers who do reading for kids - that doesn't affect me and is up to the parent(s) to decide. What I do not agree with is pushing your beliefs/religion on to someone else because you circumnavigate God's will to freedom of choice. We all have a choice. If you want to change gender, we have the medical resources available to you. Do you want to murder someone? We have an ACE hardware with shovels and bags of lime for you in the back. 😂

Yes, the interviewer wasn't great. The fat 'christian' closet queen should have been called out more for his disgusting 'moral' stance.
Because God said so. That's their answer for everything.
It used to be quite common in the past, for gay men to marry hetero women.

That laugh was a mix of incredulity and disbelief that it's actually taking place in our nation.
We now have two America's. In one, people's diversity is accepted and celebrated, in the other, the state has taken it upon itself to legislate the morality of others. They want to criminalize behavior that they don't understand or don't like.
I think of it more like Egalitarians vs. Aristocrats.
One side wants to resolve social issues. Like housing or health care. The other wants to be upset because we won't cater to their childish demands.
Unfortunately, the bad guy has more money, resources, and motivation. While we expect somebody else to solve everything for us. And they're using that as leverage against us.

There is a certain type of individuals at ALL evangelical churches.
They're middle aged, single, without any children and usually the focus of many people determined to find a husband/wife for someone so lovely. They're almost always involved in most aspect of church and are usually the nicest people.
If a gay person is manipulated by religious people they trust before they learn to love themselves for who they are as an individual, that's what happens

A man wearing a full dress and wearing makeup may not be pretty but neither it is sexual.

The USA is not the most free country in the world…..
The original Constitution of the United States that was ratified in 1789 had only ONE REFERENCE TO RELIGION: [Article 6] No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any Office or Public Trust under the United States.
The de facto motto of the United States, adopted as part of the Great Seal of the U.S. by an Act of Congress in 1782, was E. Pluribus Unum (Out of Many, One). Congress changed it 174 years later (1956) to "In God We Trust".
The ORIGINAL 'Pledge of Allegiance' was written in 1892 by Baptist Minister Francis Bellamy who DID NOT INCLUDE the words "Under God".
"I am for freedom of religion and against all maneuvers to bring about a legal ascendancy of one sect over another."
