- Here are most of the songs from the 1936 British film musical film "Land Without Music" featuring the famous tenor Richard Tauber. (Taken from my decent 16mm full length print).
(The film was also released in the UK on the 9.5mm 'home movie' film gauge as T.9103 shortened a little)
This clip begins with the titles and "Fernando" sung by a chorus. Then "The Coach Song" as Tauber arrives at Lucco. When he discovers the ban on music he sings "You Must Have Music". Later he meets the Princess out riding and sings "Smile For Me". At the secret concert Richard Tauber sings "Simple Little Melody" . Finally with the revolution sorted, he sings "Heaven In A Song".

Aw this ❤ grew up watching these with my dad x
Saw this film in 1952 when I was ten and never forgot it.
Saw the film on tv in the sixties-it changed my life forever
Good to have this from an excellent print, without the glitches that have marred other postings.
I'm so glad to see this again (last time was 20years ago on tv!) A real collectors' item. Two things spoiled it, Durante (why him?), and Napier (who couldn't act her way out of a paper bag!)
A one man opera company :)
This was reissued in the US in 1946 as THAT'S MY BOY to cash in on Jimmy Durante's resurgent Radio fame. Must have been confusing to the punters to see a decade old film that had nothing to do with his current radio show.
