  • There are so many phrasal verbs that use the word ‘stand’ in English. They sound very similar, but these all have different meanings, and the meanings are hard to guess. In this class, I’ll teach you 13 phrasal verbs with ‘stand’, as well as some noun forms that go with them. We’ll look at: stand up, stand up for, stand up to, stand for, stand by, stand in for, stand out, stand around, stand aside, stand back, stand off, stand down, stand with, and more. You’ll learn the meaning of each and hear examples. Stop standing around and start learning. Then, take the quiz at www.engvid.com/13-stand-phras...

Grammar Questions: Take a look at the verb ending in a present tense format with "it." What is wrong with the verb "imply vs. implies?" Sentence: "It" implies Mr. Doe is leaving this weekend after all. Another sentence: "It" imply Mr. Doe is leaving this weekend after all. Does the "it" must still stick to the 3rd-person present-tense verb or not? Base verb of "imply" in the 3rd person becomes "implies" does it not? How about if the sentence structure is written out this way: Does it imply... vs. Does it implies... Which one is grammatically correct? God bless.
