Carl’s passion and dedication to this hobby are truly commendable. I’m inspired by his innovative approach to modifying equipment and refining his aquarium methods, always striving to achieve even greater success with his livestock. His creativity and commitment set a fantastic example for others in the hobby.
If I remember this reef tank's owner's voice correctly, one of his old reef tanks was featured in "reef tank video" filmed in Toronto around 2005 to 2010.
This is such an awesome tank. Love seeing updates in it. I think I remember years ago seeing a video of a 4x2x2 tank that Carl had where all the rock was on a few pillars?
That one was bread in the tank came home one evening they must’ve spawned about two weeks later there’s a bunch of gold torches. That was the only one that survived. The copperband went to Town and the others I gave that one to a good friend that end up cooking his tank at 92° and he gave it back to me. It actually survived and that is what is in the front of the tank.
As great as this tanknis going 7 foot by 5 foot would be better. If you are gonna do it might as well go all out. Plus if he did similar plumbing then he could turn up those Abyzz pumps and that would help justify the cost of those pumps lol.
Love seeing Carls system! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it, he is one of a kind (and so is his system and husbandry!)

He is the OG for sure :) and yes, this is Toronto so it must be him.
Great interview 🇯🇲
Gonna Need a video of the 10 foot reef he mentioned at 20:40. Gotta see it.
Love how Carl drops $10k on new lights just “because”… and here I am debating if I should spend a £1k on new set up! Lol
Stratons are like $2300 CAD... So 13-15k lol. They look amazing.
@ They do, my plan long term is probably to use Stratton once I get my dream reef set up, gonna take a few years before I get there though.

Are those sea swirl pumps that are turning or something else?
There is another company that makes these devices.. seaswirls are still available..
@@stefk4862 thanks, do you know what brand he uses?
@v8maro no' but ocean sea products or sea swirl are your options
@@v8maro WavySea Wavemaker is the product... It's in another video with Carl. They don't make this particular device anymore
What is the name of the gold torch up front?
You just said it 😂
