That emotional moment at 32:36 choked me. So real so genuine but he sailed through. I wish dei mabvunza why in particular pa christmas pass, what was it about it. I saw the tears in his eyes. Beautiful, real, vulnerable moment.
The most down to earth, unpretentious and entertaining interview ever!!! Thank you for bringing mukoma Sam! I never knew he could talk and crack jokes like this! May he be well in body and spirit.
I think l must be awarded a special award for being an addict to this show. This episode was unique and fan. Sam is hilarious - I have never laughed this hard lol. This show must be renamed to 'I Just came here to chill' - excellent work guys
Thanks Bro Sam M had such an amazing time driving back from work today. I wish more shows could be so heart warming like this show. I am one person who advertises it for you Dennys. I love this show with all my heart... ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🦋🦋🦋💕💕💕
The humility in this guy, amazing. The way he downplays his achievements, you never hear him showering himself with praises even though he was a beast. Amazing story teller!! I remember around 2005 first time watching him play with Louis Mhlanga at a jazz festival at 7 Arts Avondale Harare. His solo blew me away. Sounded so good, so full of rhythm it could have easily been a record. 52:18 He literally auditioned for Miriam Makeba playing a song he doesn't know and he impressed the icon . . . legendary. I like the way he focuses on how nervous he was instead. 1:08:10 He says he is introduced last because drums are "noisy", don't believe that, he was introduced last because his solo was a highlight. He doesn't mention how his solos rocked. In the early stages of his career he says Thomas Mapfumo cautioned him about wanting to steal the show in Sakubva, I bet that had a lot to do with how good his solo was. 35:54 The guy already had a opening drummer in the early stages of his career playing for Thomas Mapfumo
Dope show!! Should have more subscribers than it has. A few suggestions, Danny J please make a call to action within 45sec of show starting and 1 min b4 Show ends also some were in the middle of the interview especial pari emotionally heightend: ask people to subscribe, save notifications, and share. etc Producer: change thumbnail, put a clear catchy one guest picture with their name etc. Ping a notification calling to action every 30mins. i hope this helps. But show yenyu yekanyanya!!
I am usually particular about the interviews i watch. Stumbled on this one and my my my what a piece. I love natural pple who r not pretentious. This guy is real. Original. Loved it. Time not wasted at all🤝🤝🤝
So beautiful to see my favorite drummer. I am a Mutare boy who met Sam and got my tiny start to music from him. Always humble, always courteous. His mum was such a beautiful nurse. Wishing him well and full recovery.
This was so much fun and entertaining! The best yet! Thank you Sam or should I say Tendai for sharing your stories and thank you Denny J Show for providing the platform!
Born in Mutare and now based out of the country....This dude just took me down memory lane of the nice good old days....SAM you are the boss..thank you...You are definitely 100% responsible for your actions...
I was such a young kid but I still have vivid memories of Sam's amazing solo on the last song, tuku live in san fransisco gig. My father would play that video tape every night. Legend. Hilarious too!
Great, great interview! Sam you're a LEGEND!!!! I remember my dad, with his Peugout 404, used to be hired by you and other Ekhaya Band members after your shows to ferry you back home then in Mutare. You're such a great and hilarious storyteller. Excellent interviewers!!!
This is a good example of a life that should have been nurtured to be a drummer because it was evident that he was born a drummer and musician. As parents we should not force a ball in a square mould. If the parents had supported the music side of things this man could have done better in school possibly. School has its role but not everyone is cut out to be a corporate person. I feel touched about how he was misunderstood and his talent suffocated yet it could have been supported. I hope a parent gets help here. Let's support our children to become themselves. Yes they must go to school but their identity as talented people must be supported. Beautiful teaching right here. Thank you Mr Sam and Denny J Show
It seems i am getting addicted to this show. After every two day i find myself checking on the search engine if you guys have uploaded something.Honestly you are doing a superb job.Love the way you guys dresses.Kuzoti mabhingo yeah kwakuseri.Ngazviende mberi.

Loved this. Met the man once in Beirut when I was posted there, and lo and behold Tuku came over for a spring festival show. Wonderful memories. Have pics with Sam and the maestro himself, Oliver Mtukudzi (mhsrip)
Sam is book material. He has a deep sense of loyalty, is outright funny and has music experiences of encyclopedic proportions. Loved interview to bits save for instances of foul language.

Foul language? Ironic in England the word f*€k is not foul at all. The English use it everyday
@@zibba007 I have more praise for the interview than disapproval. Anyway foul is foul Zibba. Don't abuse my lack of familiarity with England.
