To be honest it be a great business move for studio Gaga to keep berserk going as long as they can. On a another note, Guts knows just how hard it is to kill regular apostles, he did for 2 years straight. Yet the second he faces off against a godhand member in Griffith and doesn’t win. He sinks into despair? Griffith will go down due to atypical conditions not a simple sword fight.

I think it's less that, and more just that he started to let go of his hate and began to focus more on simply protecting those around him (especially Casca), but then all of a sudden Griffith comes in again to completely ruin that. It's not just a moment of powerlessness, it's also a moment of yet again facing the one who gave him the worst traumas while also watching him get away with stealing the one he cares for. All of that on top of already existing trauma and weariness (especially the exhaustion brought upon by the berserker armor) probably finally made him cave in for once in his life.
That's just my own thoughts on it at least, but yea.

Honestly, a lot of things in the Berserk afther Miura show that the writing is bad. It seems that Miura's students dont know how to writ a good story that is cohesive and has continuity. It is an unfortunate that it is like that because the art is, not at all, bad. If they put some reall efort into the writing, the story wold be something to consider reading, and wold in fact, if done very well, be considered even grandious. An example of things that were completed afther the death of the creator is Mozart's requiem, wich was completed by a friend afther his death. I cold imagine how wonderful Berserk wold be if its writing was done by some one ho knows well the story and has great writing skils.
Think Guts will use the behelit he took from one of the Apostles he slew, to become a monster capable of matching Griffith? Or will he refuse, suspecting all behelits are booby-trapped to make its users submit to the God Hand?
Maybe Guts will "ascend" the way King Gaiseric did after overusing the Berserker Armor, and match Griffith that way?

Arnold is hugely popular in Japan his advertisements on Japanese T.V is amazing to watch, has for Young Animal Publication, Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga assistants doing with the current Berserk chapters it suck with Guts, Griffith, Casca, Farnese, Serpico, Schierke and the crew, for one Casca should not remember her sexual relationship with Griffith/ Femto during the eclipse and her feeling toward Griffith are unresolved why she dwelling over Guts now two Mordo the witch shouldn't be give orders on what to do on the seahorses since the witches never seen combat or it after effects they should be confuse and shock and three Farnese with her healing power of the body, the mind and Spirit is not being used in the story to help Guts, she isolated in the story now, as for the Final Arc the Berserk series manga is a cash cow for Young Animals and Studio Gaga don't be surprise if when Guts and Crew story end, there is a continuation of Berserk Timeline in a future after Guts, Farnese, Griffith, Casca, Seprico, Mordo, Puck, Schierke and Isidro time.
I can see where you are coming from but all those battles he fought and hardship he went through was for him to slay Griffith and his despair shows how confident he was in his skills. Him not being able to touch Griffith just pulls him back to the godhand incident, which lead him to this path.... And when he looks back and us a reader, we look back, all those battles and chapters, we thought we progressed enough but in the end, we didn't, it was futile.... Hence guts breaking down and us as a reader feeling sad for his failure
I see your point, seeing casca getting taken off by Griffith so easily would tear guts apart mentally. But maybe a bit on the melodramatic side for me. I still like the new chapters however.
