That is such an awesome looking job you did with the weathering. I feel like it could almost tell a story now of what it's been through. Great work dude.
Fins look so amazing for the emitter. I live the fallen order/survivor hilt so much and ive added this hilt to my cart at vaders sabers now, but we definitely need more fin emitter sabers! Thank you for this beautiful creation!
Looks fantastic! I've weathered a couple but saw some good tips when you did yours. I'm going to go back and do some more. Especially with the dremel and add scaring. Mine is definitely missing that. Thanks for the great content as usual! Looking forward to the next episode!
DUDE........THAT IS SICK! I have a small collection and I have always thought arent those pretty lol but in the back of my head Im telling myself NO WAY would they look that pretty in real life. Blocking sabers, blasters, slicing and dicing, there is no way they would be shiny and pretty with no marks on them. Jesus my tv remote has more damage than a light a saber lol. Love what you did and I think I might give it a try on one of mine.
As much as I love all your review content on the canon hilts, I’m always stoked to hear your tips and tricks for creating one offs with weathering … to be honest of my 12 hilts I only have one film accurate (obi) … I love getting raw hilts and just using them as a canvas for creating unique art. Anyhow great vid!
For me it's hard to do random. So my thought would be to take the casing and find a field with some rocks and just kinda toss it around till it looks roughed up. Not criticizing your work it looks great.
Thank you so much for these weathering videos! I’m currently using some Aluminum Black to darken up a hilt. Some parts seem lighter though, and I know you said I can go back and do another coat, but would there be any need to do a stripping/degreasing wash at this point? Should I just move forward with more black?
You can simply try to put on another thick coat of the aluminum black and see if that works. Or maybe there’s too much finish on the hilt still that maybe needs to be stripped off. Also, I normally don’t do it but if you heat up the metal, the aluminum black takes better. So that’s something you can try in those light spots maybe just heat up the metal a little bit. Do keep in mind if you heat up the metal you should probably pull the whole thing apart and get all the electronics out. One of the reasons why I mostly don’t do that because I don’t feel like pulling everything apart all the time.
I love your approach to weathering. I did have a question, when using the aluminum black instead of a black wash is it necessary to seal the saber once you have finished sanding off the aluminum black to your liking?

Great weathering. It’s got a hint of the Old Republic about it
Beautiful work! Designing and weathering! I love this hilt!
Thank you very much!
I absolutely love this 😍 this detailing would go good with the apocalypse sound font and blood orange blade!

@@TheCollectorsOutpost I appreciate it. Thank you so much.

You can give it a coat of some Matt clear if you want. I mostly just leave them as is.
@TheCollectorsOutpost does the clear coat add anything to it or will it be good without donyou think?
Hey um question how do you stop the aluminum black from smelling all over your hands? I can't ever figure that out I've tried everything
Put on gloves
@TheCollectorsOutpost I.. I mean you right 🤣 but even after the process is all done?
