    Happened to stumble upon your channel a week or so ago. I must say, the way you explain each step, as it pertains to future development, is very insightful. Please keep the videos coming. They are both entertaining and appreciated. Also, I've given a look over your online store as well. Hope to purchase when the weather is a bit warmer. Cheers, mate.

    The stone almost reminds me of an axe head. It is almost as if the black pine is attacking an axe to stop deforestation. Great looking piece. Thank you for sharing!

    Looks great, nice video, do you also have some videos on how do you start black pines over rock. I tried a few times and I never seem to get them that tight up against the rock.

      I believe that tree is now in its around 9 years old. There is an older article on bonsaify.com about it here: www.bonsaify.com/blogs/news-and-more/improving-young-root-over-rock-pines
      It was two when attached, then a couple years later I wrote that article. It's been in the blue colander 3 or 4 years, and for the two of those it was sitting on the ground and it escape rooted. Then I cut off the escape roots and repotted it. This past year it's grown well, but not quite as vigorously as before. I expect this year it will be quite vigorous since it's likely escaped again.

    Nice pine over rock!
    I am growing a black pine too at least three years, it chould have about five years old. I dont need to repot my pine this year, so when is the best time to change the sacrifice branch!?
    Regards from Portugal.

      @Bonsaify  Рік тому

      Remove the sacrifice branch when the trunk (or section) you are fattening reaches the desired size. In terms of timing - start by reducing the sacrifice by half in fall, or decandle the sacrifice in summer and remove the rest in fall.

    hi what does the bottom of the new pot look like? is it a root trainer with a screen or does it have holes? hope you're fairing well on the Pineapple Express

      It's an Anderson 17" propagation flat, so it has a mesh bottom. I used a 5/16" lava on the bottom to keep the smaller soil from falling through.
