That was really helpful. Thank you so much madam Catherine. I love British accent, I love the way you people speak, I am from Pakistan, 21 years old and learning English.
This is the best lesson. You should keep this kind of lesson please. I’m Italian Spanish and is no easy for me speak clear. That why I need this kind of video.
Hi Katherine..shadowing is a great way to learn not only vocabulary, but also accent and pronunciation. And you're looking super pretty with that hairstyle.!! You're a rare gem in the ocean of rocks.!
I need to tell you something, Katharine. Every time I finally get myself to watch your video, I enjoy it immensely. At times like this, I could watch and listen to you all day. I just don't understand why it's so hard for me to click on your video every Friday! ❤
Excellent idea reading one of your favourite classics, it’s a great pleasure shadowing and mimicking your beautiful melodic voice 👍 Thank you so much Kathy for your help 🙏 Have a lovely weekend 🥰
What an excellent notion reading! I have practiced using these words in my speech with their British English Pronunciation. I would like to say thank you again for your help. You are making a big effort to teach us English! I'll watch the video again to understand pronunciation and shadowing practice!
Hi, Katharine, I love this kind of video just because I am a lover of English novels and I love being read to. Of all the accents, modern RP is my favourite. I find it easier to practise and use in my social dealings.
Hi teacher... Tnx a ton for appreciating my comments and liking them too and right now, I am just on cloud nine as it came from none other than a brilliant teacher from a native English country where the beautiful language of English was invented.. 🙏 ❤ Also, sooo happy as she had given this appreciation to someone who is a non native English speaker who is of srilankan origin.. 😮🤗🤗🤩 Finally, I hope you have a wonderful day and can't wait to see the today's lesson.. 🙏 Hugs.xoxoxo Gams ❤️

Visited Oxford last year for the first time and I always thought about the Oxford comma. Weird, isn't it? Great video. Keep up the great work, Katharine.
This " Shadowing " video is helping me a lot with stress on the right syllable for instance in words like ' pastÓral' and ' survÉyed " . (pronunciation " surveyed " can be tricky !) 2. Difficult name , Bathsheba , Even if it doesnt help , it wont hurt checking the pronunciation that Google Translate offers here . But considering the context of the surrounding text , it is "RP " like , so I would go for Baath- SHEE-bah . 3 Because of the leaves swooping down , Dutch people call it " Treur wilg " = "mourn willow " . Very decorative trees on river banks .
Hi there sweet Katherine!! My favorite moment of the week!! I love bucolic scenarios. Your explanation is gorgeous, descriptive in each detail, always great dear katherine💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Hello, Katharine.😊 I really like your 'reading loud video', which gives me a chance to repeat and do shadowing. It's so helpful to acquire Modern R.P., which does sound beautiful and also musical. I'd appreciate it if you would introduce more.🙏 Have a splendid weekend❗💖
Hi Katharine!!! Sounds like an awesome book for autumn!!! Thanks for recommending it to us!!! Sending my best wishes over from Germany to lovely England!!!🤝🏴🇩🇪🙋♀️
Oh, Katharine! How I love these reading videos 🙈! They are so useful and impact! Autumn is almost here! Are you ready? I can't wait for your cosy seasonal words! As always, beautiful ever 💞.

Hi. 🙂It’s become somewhat of a ritual I am looking forward to, to end the week with your videos. I often find myself wondering what your theme on this week’s video will be. To sound more British and use British words vs American is a goal. The book was probably not my cup of tea, but the main theme was. I love poem, maybe you could use some in your videos. 🙏Many English poem can only be read in English and lose their beauty when translated, for instance two of my favorit poem Invictus (W.E Henley) and IF (R. Kipling), canot be translated. Have a lovely weekend ☀❤
Hello Katherine, I love the way you read the book with your beautiful British Accent. I want to learn British accent from you. You are great to me Katherine
Thank you for this useful lesson. I appreciate your work. I like the British accent. On your suggestion in a previous video, I have read ''Far from the Madding Crowd'', ''The Mayor of Casterbridge and I have reread ''Tess of the d'Urberville'' by Thomas Hardy, but in translation. I know that the best thing is to read books in the original language, but at that moment there were nor available books in English. At least, I have acquainted myself with that English writer.
A great way to improve yourself is to translate pages from your native language into English with help of a dictionary . I hope this tip is helpful for you .

Dear Katharine, I enjoy with your videos because I can hear the correct sound of the Brithish accent. Could you recommend us a good British Dictionary?
It is good to know. I will try to practice it with my accent. It will not change my accent totally but it will be more understandable to the average person. Please let me know if I am wrong, but the first paragraph used the Oxford comma. Was that common for English writers in the 19th Century?
For the Dutch viewers - I found a Dutch translation on the internet , which I think is a correct one ; "Zijn doopnaam was Gabriel en op door de weekse dagen was hij een jongeman met gezond verstand , die zich soepel bewoog , zich fatsoenlijk kleedde en doorgaans een goed karakter bezat . " - His Christian name was Gabriel , and on working days he was a young man of sound judgement , easy motions , proper dress , and general good character .
