Also, while there's a lot holding us back from actual space exploration currently, mostly its privatization of the means of production and resource access that puts an incredible price tag on research and development of space technologies. It's that same privatization that is also killing the planet and driving us further into the idea of leaving to begin with. It's quite the cycle. We should, at this junction of human history, be focusing on two things. Maintaining and further maintenance of our home planet, and the research and development of tools that will allow us to further our reach into the stars. We have a near infinite amount of space and resources to fuel our society, jobs, and infrastructure. We only need the daring to take the steps required to move towards them, as well as a desire to look beyond our bullshit differences perpetuated by distain not founded in factual differences but rather differences of opinion and instead focus on moving forward towards a brighter future. of course, expecting humanity and our thousands upon thousands of differing cultures to just say "That's how other people are, and I respect their choice to be that way" and NOT want to murder each other is utopian and will never come to pass. these are beyond inspiring, they are deafening powerful. the Cosmos compilations stir something in me, close to peace and wisdom as if in the precise moment i tune in with the songs i feel bigger than everything in my life. the closest set of words to explain what i feel when listening to this video is: "i am large, i contain multitudes"- walt whitman. granted, that quote means something entirely different from the thing i told you earlier, but words, sentences, poetry and art itself is what WE make of it. if a poem, painting or book makes you feel something completely different from that other people say it's supposed to, don't listen to them. words are powerful, they contain the world in them.
As I journey through this life, I walk in the midst of the eternal light with trust and love to encounter my Creator someday. My heart longs to see that day.

And as you drift the battle becomes smaller and smaller, receding into the past distance. Till it fades into the other stars in that vastness. Now it's just you drifting, slowly rotating through infinity. How small are you compared to this It asks, in silence. And how can your mind comprehend any of this infinity all? How?
