Just the tutorial I needed and you came to save my project real fast. Thank you!
I watched the video to see what to do with music and Bam you linked up the footstep animations and so I got distracted by doing the same on my game, and it is pretty cool. Now back to music control, lol. Thank you for such a succinct set of instructions.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Also love your friendly enthusiastic voice mate!
Thank you so much! I'm a univ student in Korea, and I'm studying Unreal Engine since last month. Your tutorials are reallyyyyyyyyyyy healpful. I wish I could show you my final project on this Nov.

i was just gonna look for this.
random surface sounds is also nice so it dont soun repettetive
Do not use switch but single play sound at location with select based on E_Surface_Type
could you please elaborate or link some documentation or video explaining this?
GOOD
I like it
thx for the tutorial but i have a terrian mat so i cant use the diffrent physical can you help
Interesting intro tutorial thanks so much for your contribution to the community. Nonetheless, I would rather rephrase captions and intro comments to state that this is truly basic, as event driven programming nowadays is pretty much obsolete in video game sound design
♥
Hey man, on the footsteps sound, if i keep pressing W (to go forward) he only does the sound the number of times i have notifys (i have 6 footstep notifies on the run animation). So if i keep pressing forward it does 6 sounds and stops, i supose it should loop right?
How can we play the sound included in a Media Player or a Bink Player? Thanks.
I am making a 3d platformer. I have it so when the player hits the water, a drowning animation will play which plays a splashing sound. The player can jump out of the water 2 times before he actually drowns if he doesnt jump on land. How do I stop the splashing sound when he cancels it by jumping out of the water?
If it's not too much, could you do a tutorial on making a video player with a playlist?
How do we do the animation footsteps bit for first person character
How to replicate footstep sound, and sound cues for multiplayer game? I have a problem that the footsteps of server are heard by client, but not vice versa. 😢
What about VFX for footstep(include your asset)?
at 4:15 why did you do a new notify called "Footstep" but then for the second one you did a "skeleton notify" called "footstep" which is lower-case?
-vector is missing? what is the alternative?
What if you can't right click? When I right click I only get half the menu the rest is of screen
Okay. How do you add sound effects to Paper 2d? Your tutorial (AND MANY others) involve using animation graphs. Paper 2D sprites do NOT have anim blueprints......
Like
"wahvvv" lol
anyone konws the ID of the track at the very end of the video ?
THANK YOU, I tried making my audio file a .WAV when I exported it from iMovie but for some reason it just wouldn’t work with unreal engine and I tried cloud convert and now it works!!!
Glad I could help Amelia 😇
How do i create footsteps for a fps character that Haß no body and no walk Animations?
That's a very good question my friend, well you'll have to setup a walk sound when your characters movement is above a certain value. Then you can still use the line trace hitting the floor to determine which ground and sound should be outputted :)
This is just one way of doing it I'm unsure if it's the best but it would definitely work!
@@Beardgames i´ll try that out, ty
Great tutorial ! It helped me a lot for my project with the Y at UQAC
not working for me 😥
Dis you just say... Waahv? XD like a sound waahv?
you said Waaav. not wave how odd lol
if you said WAV one more time im going to lose it , its WAVE......
Hehe sorry, never got taught how to pronounce it
@@Beardgames im just thinking how old i am getting most people back in the 90s said wave...file... now i hear wAV file makes me think omg
I wish all tutorials were as concise as this, instead of 50% of them being "uhh... um..." ect ect
Appreciate it thanks for the kind words🙂
Unreal Engine can't play mp3? Wow. Such advanced engine. Just wow.
Unfitting music, but thank you.
the music was annoying. please dont add music to your tutorials
