How to find Inverse of a 3x3 Matrix | Co-factor Method
INVERSE OF A MATRIX
Definition
Let A be any square matrix. If there exists another square matrix B Such that AB = BA = I (I is a unit matrix) then B is called the inverse of the matrix A and is denoted by A-1.
The cofactor method is used to find the inverse of a matrix. Using matrices, the solutions of simultaneous equations are found.
Working Rule to find the inverse of the matrix
Step 1: Find the determinant of the matrix.
Step 2: If the value of the determinant is non zero proceed to find the inverse of the matrix.
Step 3: Find the cofactor of each element and form the cofactor matrix.
Step 4: The transpose of the cofactor matrix is the adjoint matrix.
Step 5: Apply the formula for the inverse

Thank you but i think you made a mistake on the second row and second column digit it should be 16 not -8 because we said -4 x -3 = 12 then 2 x -2 which is -4 12--4 = 15... and the other one 2nd row 3rd column answer shld be 28
The second statement is wrong
It's true you're the one who missed the concept
He is right the teacher made alot of mistake
I have revisited the sum. I agree with you, but once again I beg we forgive the tutor.
@@usmanjamilu9117Not a lot. Me, I confirm only 2, and both in row 2 columns 2&3
Thank you for the well explained work
It's really helpful need more on this type of solutions.
I didn't attend some of my matrix classes but when i watch this tutorials it really helps me alot.
Much appreciated thanks 👍
You're very welcome!
Watch my matrices video on Learn and grow ua-cam.com/video/VLaG4a0-Afo/v-deo.html
Great video! I think you made one mistake at 9:23 though, where you get -8 it should be +16: (12- (-4)), and where you get 4 you should get +28: -(-16 -12).
Yes I've seen the mistake. Thank you for the correction 👍
@@iqinitiative also at 9:10 you made a mistake it should be
(12-(-4))
(12 + 4)
=16
I had already asked the same 😲,,sikua nimeona hii thanks
@@faithmumo6849 hizo negatives na positives hukuwa tricky sana 😂
They are tricky. I forgive the tutor. Erring is human. To me, he has done good. I have understood every thing
Thank sir
❤❤❤❤thanks so much have understood all the steps ❤❤❤😊😊God bless you❤
Glad it helped. You're most welcome 😊
ei u understood with all those mistakes 😅
Wow! This was really helpful
I also like this approach than the other identity method
I'm glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you
You're welcome
Thank you sir
You're welcome 😊
The mistake started from the signs that he wrote in red,the last 1 shld be all positive 😅
I wasn't understanding this topic but after watching your video sir, I can solve it without any problem.
I'm glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Good job done. But there was a mistake
Thank you so much sir.
Most welcome
second raw second column -4*-3 - (-2*2)=16
Yeah Bro you are correct i also had a same issue then i crosscheck my answer its 16 only
We all make mistakes.. But the idea is very clear and halpfull. Thanks a lot for the video ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the help man
No problem 👍
🤩🤩🤩🤩
👍
Thanks
No problem
Thanks so much. I really learnt a lot
Glad it was helpful!
👍
awsome video... love it ❤
9:14 it will 16 insted of -8 but no problem we all are humans and humans do mistaked. but over all video is great 😊
Yes, you are right. Thank you.
second row third column also has error
it really helps me but i think theres error at the second column second row
I have liked the lesson
Glad you did 👍
Thanks for the steps but there is a little mistake you got -8 instead of 16 and still got 4 instead of +28
Ya.❤
Yes. Thanks.
Yes
Am just behind with how to transponse
Thank you so much sîr 🙏🙏💎✨
You're most welcome
❤
💙
Thanks fir the solution but why did 3*-2 turn into a positive 6😢
Superb explanation sir thanks a lot
You're welcome. I'm glad it was helpful 😊
Thank you very much. This helped out a lot!
You're welcome!
9:07 correction, here its not -12 but 12 since -3*-4 = 12, leading to the result of 16 not -8
Yes. Thanks
Where did you get that det of 18 please Sir
See in 3:44
He's right check yours
There is a slight mistake where you get 4 instead of 28
Yes duly noted. Thank you.
2:32 Is this negative 2 or positive 2 ? thanks
(-2)(-1)=2
so -12+4 is equals to -8 or 16.. please come through guys
It was a slight mistake in solving. Kindly correct it.
Big ting is the concept, thanks for you correction
Sir your explanation was soo good, though there was a mistake. Thank you sir😊
Sorry for that. It has been noted.
No need to be sorry Sir 😊
👍 😊
This is helpful
I'm glad it was 😊
thanks sir
Most welcome
The determinate is wrong, it's supposed to be 38 instead of 18
Thank you Sir…Row 2 column 3 should be -28 Sir…I think you made a mistake there
and also row 2 column 2 should be 16
Positive 28
M22 will be 16 instead of -8
Yes. I've seen the mistake. Thank you for the correction.
Thanks you so much. and bro there a mistake 9:15 (-4x-3)-(2x-2)=16
Yes, you are right
Thank you sir🎉
Most welcome
I have a question sir,,why is it not+4 yet it is+-+
+ means to keep the sign as it is and the - means to change the sign , hope this makes sense
What if the determinant is 0
How do we get the inverse
What I know is if the determinant is 0, then the matrix given does not have an inverse
A matrix with zero determinant is called a Singular matrix and it's inverse cannot be obtained.
For cofactor for element -1 is -4x-3 not 3
👍
Yrr Q galat solve kiya hua hai
Process shi hai 👍
👍
Thanks sir but you missed some of -+-
Yes
umefanya nika question calculator yangu😢😢
???
9:17 the is 16 not negative 8
Yeah my bro that is 16 😢 I think I made mistake and sitting in depression for an hour then I read comments he made mistake 😢
Please apni voice Ka level 90 kary 30 say bahir Ajay
Please what about cofactors of 4x4 matrix all your videos are 3x3 please provide 4x4
Sure thing.
Thank you,10 minutes before my test
You're welcome. Wishing you the best 👍
