The continuous IPD adjustment missing from the 3S was the deal breaker for me on that, otherwise I totally would've gotten two 3S headsets. His name is pronounced "Fruh-nell", because French and all. @exozoid7883 Hi exozoid - thanks for your message. I know that it shows it on the screen, and mine does, but when I adjust the dial, the lowest number it shows on my screen is 58, then it shows "min" Example : My screen says : 60, 59, 58, min. It doesn't say: 58,57,56,55,54, down to 53. I'm just wondering if that is normal or if anyone else's Quest 3 actually shows the numbers all the way down to 53 when they adjust the dial
@@gregfreeze8649 I forget where my numbers stop. But I can tell you they claim a larger range on the Quest 3 than you can actually adjust. That's because the Quest 3 pancake lenses still allow you see clearly when you're a little off center. You can't be way off, but a little. So while you can't adjust down to that lowest IPD, if you're eyes are at that lower level, you should still be able to see clearly. That lets them claim a larger range than yo can actually dial to. So your experience with the dial is normal.
As long as the quest 3s is cheaper and slightly better then the quest 2 then that’s the one I’m going to get. I will need to keep on top of my storage but tbh is all media for me. Depends how long it would take me to save up
My son has had the quest 2 for the last 3 years. He just broke the controller. So I am thinking instead of just getting him new controllers I should just buy the Quest 3s.
I’m looking for a 2nd headset, already have a 3s. My problem with getting a 3 as the 2nd set is partially the shorter battery life, but mostly concern for how much the extra resolution will tax the processing hardware, affecting the rest of the gaming performance. This concern is based on the units having the same processors. I’m really interested in feedback on this.
I'm waiting to buy it just before April. Crypto will be about to dump by then, plus the batman game comes with the headset till April. And I'll have plenty of money to buy another VR headset. Haha
I just purchased my son the meta 3s and after doing a ton of reviews I realised that I think I might find using it for tracking news and crypto very beneficial myself.
I have Quest 2 w 512GB, and I am glad I paid extra. However, as you have stated, I am playing less and less of it. It is not everything it was hyped to be. I was really excited to hear about the upgrades. But feel like it is only gonna let me down again. The amount of games that are out for it just do not make sense to me. Then I learned that I was able to link it to my computer and that changed a lot of things. When you link it up it no longer really uses the headset and relies more on the computer so for now I think I am just gonna hold of on buying something new with upgrades since my Quest 2 works pretty good. The only game I am really looking forward to seeing in VR is the new FPS Body cam. That game looks insane. Playing it in VR would need more space than I currently have dedicated to my play area. We will see. I really like your review and think it helped make my decision to hold off. Thanks.
Im getting the 3s due to the price and because I mainly like watching movies on the vr but really wish the 3s had a slider to move the lenses like the 3
Is it really that much difference? What about performace and tracking, as some people mentioned its better with S3? I just got an S3 and seriously started thinking to return it and get quest 3. Getting it set up on your head properly is a pain. I find myself often trying to catch focus as only center of vision is clear, the rest seems blurry. Are quest 3 lenses that much better?
Okay, so I'm here as a complete "noob". Ive been a gamer my whole life, but my tech knowledge stops around the PS4, but I have a son who's wanted one of these for a while now, and honestly, I have always wanted one, lol. Now that he's a little older, and with Christmas coming up, can anyone say if we would even notice a difference between the 3 and 3s? Id almost rather get x2 3s for the price of one 3. We have no frame of reference, and im assuming theres going to be another initial cost for some monthly/yearly subscription to even play the games? Or is it free and the games cost money?
He would notice minor differences if he plays the both of them. The 3 had pancake lenses, while the 3s has the same fresnel lenses as the 2. The both use the same graphics chip, but the 3 has slightly better resolution due to the lenses. There is a subscription fee, only if you use Quest+, but outside of that, a one time fee for games, typically ranging from 9.99 - 59.99, but most are in the $10 - $30 range, and they offer a lot of deals and sales. And there are plenty of fun, free games and apps to choose from as well. All-in-all, they'll have a blast with either headset. Maybe even more of a blast if you decide to pick up two 3s, and join in on the fun.
Body tracking is still holding back VR... If more games could utilize body tracking there is a giant realm of gaming possibilities... SlimeVR is making that a lot more affordable but it's literally just getting off the ground in usability and between that and the price of the headsets that's a lot of money to put in for the VR experience with rather limited (some would say Indie) games available. In fact a lot of people say that the best games are found inside different VR chat platforms (not sure if that's the right word for it)... some might chime in with how great some of the other body tracking is but it's very expensive for full tracking. And all of it is just expensive in general.
What's the game you were talking about in which you are in a human body, fighting viruses and bacteria. I went back and could not find it again. Thanks
depends on if being able to see the screen-door effect will bother you (where you can make out the pixels of the display). It's not Vision-Pro quality. The Quest 3 is not that far off though. But if you wanna just have the ability to watch UA-cam on a big virtual screen, they can def do that.
from my personal experience, you don't notice the screen door effect. its good for watching short videos, but your forehead goes numb if you watch hour long videos.
I’m getting the 3s because rn Amazon has it for 299.99 plus 3 months of meta quest + Batman Arkham shadows. And $100 credit for Amazon. I was a little bummed out because I thought it was the 3 but I’m still excited to get it for a good deal
As in the quest 1? If so, definitely. I remember when I got a quest 2 after using a quest 1 and the difference was very noticeable. I got a 3s last night and I’ve racked up about 6 hours of playing time as of today. The 3s is definitely better than the 1 and 2, and I’m sure the 3 ks an even better upgrade
as someone that used Q2 and saw what Q3s can do... don't even think about getting quest 2 or quest 3s. save up for quest 3 it's like comparing PS3 with PS5.
So I use quest 2, primarily for Euro Truck Simulator 2😂 (sad, I know). And the odd actual Meta game, but I want colur pass through for certain games. Are we saying 3 or 3s? I feel the 3 sould be better for primary graphical sharpness, but can I justify the extra £100 for better quality for one game, I'm stuck😬

As long as the quest 3s is cheaper and slightly better then the quest 2 then that’s the one I’m going to get. I will need to keep on top of my storage but tbh is all media for me. Depends how long it would take me to save up
Still habe my 64gb launch quest 2 model and only use it to play pc vr titles
Getting a quest 3 soon as my first ve
What about the Quest 3 128gbs instead of the 512gbs?
I got a quest 3s it was amazing I got a Costco Black Friday deal for the 256gb 324$ it comes with a case
me too! great deal
Just the info I needed. Almost bought the 3S. Glad I didnt :) Thanks
I’m using an oculus 2 for iracing. Thinking about upgrading and the 4K resolution is pretty convincing
im always slower times in vr v straight p.c. 2 tenths typically, strange >)
I'm getting it not for gaming but for using 3 screens at the same time but while moving around and looking at crytpo, youtube and news about crytpo.
I'm waiting to buy it just before April. Crypto will be about to dump by then, plus the batman game comes with the headset till April. And I'll have plenty of money to buy another VR headset. Haha
I just purchased my son the meta 3s and after doing a ton of reviews I realised that I think I might find using it for tracking news and crypto very beneficial myself.
crypto isnt good for society, that money isnt invested in real compoanies
Me who got a quest 2 6 months ago:
Thanks.
The only problem for me is i just dont have the money for Quest3
i have the 1,2 n 3 n now i’m getting 3s …. the 3 is okay but always gives me issues freezes a lot
@@royal_bunnie3383 if you're going to spend so much on multiple models, maybe put the money aside for the next premium headset instead?
Im getting the 3s due to the price and because I mainly like watching movies on the vr but really wish the 3s had a slider to move the lenses like the 3
u can watch movies?
I just got my quest 3 finding lot of pressure on eye sockets an heavy on head.
Speaking of field of view. Why can we have peripheral view. With even wider lenses? I don’t know the science. Thanks.
Love the vid! might actually get the more expensive one. The lense i think is pronounced frenel. The s is silent
can i use this as a pc monitor ? will it use my pc gpu to render graphics ?
I was wondering the same thing. This vid might help: "Connect Meta Quest 3 To Your PC: Every PCVR Method Explained"
I also wonder if I will use it enough to make it worth while
how many games do you think i’ll be able to get with quest 3a 256 gb
Is it really that much difference? What about performace and tracking, as some people mentioned its better with S3? I just got an S3 and seriously started thinking to return it and get quest 3. Getting it set up on your head properly is a pain. I find myself often trying to catch focus as only center of vision is clear, the rest seems blurry.
Are quest 3 lenses that much better?
yeah i think ill watch for a sale on the 3 as much as i love my psvr i think its time for an upgrade
Do you have or can you put up a video of how to cast the meta quest 3 to the tv?
Since the 3s doesnt have a headphone jack can it atleast connect to your Bluetooth headset?
Yes, it does have Bluetooth for headphones.
sooooooo what one is better overall
I'm getting quest 3s just because i haven't been spoiled by pancake lenses yet
Def a good point. If I didn't experience the pancake lenses, I'd do the same thing haha. - Josh
I have a Apple Vision Pro and now I need a gaming headset 😅
I missed it, what’s the difference in have the pancake lenses?
What the heck are pancake lenses 🤔
i decided to get one for the 2027 as i can't be asked buying it right now and don't even think il use it
but omg im so excited !
What's the game you were talking about in which you are in a human body, fighting viruses and bacteria. I went back and could not find it again. Thanks
What game were you show casing in the video?
Can you do one with the 3 vs the Vision Pro or quest pro or one of each
cani play games with just hand tracking? how does the hand tracking work??
Got the 3S from Amazon Warehouse Deals, but I'll return it for the Quest 3. Thanks for the info.
Is the 3's lenses $200 better? I'm genuinely trying to find out.
I think i’m going to buy the Quest 3, is about 6 years ago i have tried vr and that was htc vive but the quest 3 will be much better i hope
Are they also good for watching video?
depends on if being able to see the screen-door effect will bother you (where you can make out the pixels of the display).
Will it connect to an insta360 camera?
So.. in short?
Which one should i buy quest 2 200e or quest3s 300e? What do you think?
I’m getting the 3s because rn Amazon has it for 299.99 plus 3 months of meta quest + Batman Arkham shadows. And $100 credit for Amazon. I was a little bummed out because I thought it was the 3 but I’m still excited to get it for a good deal
Can you switch the lenses on the quest 3s?
Sadly no
i still use a quest 2 mainly for pcvr. Will it still be worth it for me to upgrade to the quest 3?
Does that have the
Pancake lenses?
And I think the quest three is 4K is it not?
@@guitarplayer4429 but is it really that much of an upgrade?
The s in fresnel is silent
Its pronounced freh nell lenses.
$60 referral bonus on the store as well if you sign up using a link for referral. Let me know if you need one
I need one?
The quest 3s came out like 3 months after I bought MyQuest 3
What game is he playing around 4.12?
Is it worth it to get the extended warranty?
no, at that point i would recommend to get the quest 3
I have the original quest is either one an upgrade?
As in the quest 1? If so, definitely. I remember when I got a quest 2 after using a quest 1 and the difference was very noticeable. I got a 3s last night and I’ve racked up about 6 hours of playing time as of today. The 3s is definitely better than the 1 and 2, and I’m sure the 3 ks an even better upgrade
Pronounced Frenel lenses. It is a silent S. Minor suggestion.
Came here to write the exact same thing. Fresnel = "Fren-elle". Named after the French physicist (Augustin-Jean Fresnel) who invented them.
I hope i get the quest 3 for my b-day on the 17th of january
Why does no one talk about corn with these reviews? I just wanna see some 3D diddies tbh
Interesting
@@AuAubvalid
as someone that used Q2 and saw what Q3s can do... don't even think about getting quest 2 or quest 3s. save up for quest 3 it's like comparing PS3 with PS5.
So which one is better the 3 or 3s
if your looking for alot of space, the quest 3 would be a better option.
It depends id think you’d be happy with rather one
That settles it, im upgrading from the 2 to the 3, 3s not worth it for me
Ngl there are some games I wanna play on the store but imma end up using it on my computer to playing other games
diddy would need the lenses to be touching..
Can I play Android FPS games like Call of Duty Mobile in Flat mode (non-VR/360-degree view mode)?
I thought this video was 6 months old
So I use quest 2, primarily for Euro Truck Simulator 2😂 (sad, I know). And the odd actual Meta game, but I want colur pass through for certain games. Are we saying 3 or 3s? I feel the 3 sould be better for primary graphical sharpness, but can I justify the extra £100 for better quality for one game, I'm stuck😬
