That's about the most inefficient exploitation possible, of the quite significant potential of those springs, to perform that job. A bit like you actually have a decent drill and a box of screws, for assembling a birdhouseb-and then you go on to use that drill as a hammer, to hammer in the screws. Sleep on it, I'm sure you'll find a better way. Tip: Crossbows that pack a decent punch, are not supposed to be easy to cock. Mount a stirrup bracket up front. At best, you should be able to pull the string back with both hands to cock it, if you put the nose down and stand with your foot in the stirrup. Beyond that you need a cocking winch.

Nice, but if you know physics, you would know, that the weight of the spring counteracts its load. crossbow-throwing-arms have to be strong an LIGHT! otherwize you will loose most of the force to overcome the inertia. Thats why ancient crossbow needed tons of pull, and modern ones have like 200 kg of pull with the same result.
If you rotate those springs 90⁰, it'll work much better.

What do you think any bow is but a flat spring?
Even with the extremely narrow fov you can clearly see the rod tumble like crazy
Unstabilised arrowshaft and maybe a bit bad weighting in the arrow. Maybe a smaller arrow would work better.

use rebar instead of wood as a bolt and you got one hell of a crossbow

Tension looked high and the fire power just flat lined...
Bruv the arrow nose dived within the first 30 cm 😂
Springs are designed for compression not being bent. A steel bar would work better..
The wooden arrow needs flights on the side to cause drag in the back and keeps the arrow straight
Don't trust those spring. It might break
The massive spring gives so much twang to the arrow that it can only accurately hit a tire sized target.
