Thanks for the explanation, we've been playing it wrong with dominance and leaders unchanging during each generation. May face some turmoil explaining the actual rules now.
I like the "subtle" humor of this extension: "Mars first" - the party who wants to build constructions and earn money (absolutely no relations to present time)... kelvinists who like it hot... great! And really a new managing level which allows tactical steps in the game! I can't wait to try it.
You know I often see this one on the bottom of the order of "best expansions for TM" but honestly it is my favorite after the necessity that is prelude.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Kaleb Arthur Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Lammywalness Beautiful Marriage Guide (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning how to find a husband minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my old buddy Taylor at last got amazing results with it.
Nicely done! I can´t wait to play this expansion more (1 play so far) - there seems to be a whole new tactic dimension to the game that I will love to learn how to exploit!
@@francispham6113 they were awesome! Although delegate tokens were not matching player cube colours. Boards, policy cards, corporations, project cards all in all were perfect. Gave us almost five hours of confusion, thrill, excitement, fun. Thank you for a wonderful expansion :)
Luckily I received the mini expansion with the KS stretch goals with my copy of the expansion, but they really should have been part of every release expansion copy. 16 Project cards is a joke for a 35€ expansion. With the additional 12 ones and 3 corps on top (totalling in 8 corps) and the new mechanic, you get enough bang for your buck, but without them I feel I can't recommend the expansion as is, or at least not with that price tag . I hope the mini expansion will be made wildly available and not just a promo or something.
13:48 ish Red Player has 3 INFLUENCE and 2 BUILDING TAGS. You say he has to pay 0 credits....why? Isn't it $2 * 2 Building Tags = $4 then - 3 INFLUENCE which makes it $1? Or does the 3 INFLUENCE subtract from the BUILDING TAGS? For example: 2 Building Tags - 3 Influence = 0 left to pay. Example 2: If RED had 1 Influence and 2 Building Tags, then they would pay $2?
I have a question about how to execute the events. The rules say that any event counts a maximum of 5. but this number can be modified up or down (even above 5) through points of influence. The problem is that the letters in the text vary a bit, and there are some that I don't understand how to apply them. I put 3 examples. - guidelines of the world government. In this he says that the symbols of Earth and ADD their influence are counted. This is clear. you can then exceed the maximum of 5. - Red resistance. Each player gets € 2M for each Earth symbol (max 5) and point of influence. In this case the points of influence are separate or within the count? - Local support for terraforming. Each player gets 1 floor for each level of plants (max 5) and for each point of influence he has. Unlike the previous case, it seems that both things are different .... level of production and influence. I think I understand the rules that influence always conditions and adds or subtracts. but seeing that the text is different, in Spanish the text of the letter takes on a different meaning.
It's whichever party is the "dominant" party, and that marker only passes when a party has *more* delegates than any other. So, for example, say the Reds party gets to two delegates, which is more than any other, they get the "dominant" party marker. If the Mars First party then gets to two delegates, then they only tie the Reds party and the "dominant" marker does not get passed to them - they need to get to three to become the "dominant" party.
I have a questtion about the Greens and Unity. Do I get 1M for every of the three tags, or only 1M for the whole combination of this three and only if I got such a combination? For example if I got one planttag and one mirobetag. Do I get 3Ms (1 for each Tag) or do I get nothing, because I'm missing the combination, and if I add one animal to the example, then I get only 1M for 1 full combination?
15:39 "At the end of the game, when all global parameters have reached their goals, you do production one last time" A production phase at the end of the game without any further actions? Am I understanding it well? If so, then what's the purpose of it? Is it something about the Solar Phase?
Arter the production phase, you are allowed to exchange plants to place greeneries, so you want to produce those plants. There may also be some awards that count resources. Finally, if there is a tie for first place in the game, then the player with most M€ wins.
Oh, but the Reds party is the dominant party because they have most delegates, that's what counts. Maybe you are mistaken about the Global Event card - The Global Event card "Global dust storm" says to place a grey neutral delegate in Greens party, that't what the Greens icon is there to tell, but that does not make Green party dominant or ruling.
Great question, always happy to hear peoples favourite combinations. I think prelude + colonies... It would be really interesting to hear if a particular combination somehow didn't work well for people..
Liked mostly cuz i was 777th xD BTW how longer the game is with Turmoil on top of Venus and Helas and Prelude? I am not sure if i want to buy Turmoil and/or Colonies too cuz i think at least one of those could make the game too long or annoying. Right now with above said expansions me and 3 friends finish the game in 2 hours and a half which is good to play 2 games in a row.
Wait, so -2 space bucks per building tag, if red has 2 builder tags so -4 space bucks, has 3 influence, so shouldn’t red need to pay 1 space buck instead of none?
There are 2 things i found confusing about global event cards: one is that it doesn't say that the global events apply to all players (which you clarify in this video), the second is that the effects on the cards are often unclear, which is unusual for TM, e.g. the Moral movement - strong society card in this video - does it give 2 megacoins for each city tile on the board in total (as implied by the text) or 2 megacoins for each city tile the player owns (as implied by the example in the rulebook, "Stanley has 7 cities"). Hope you will clear this up
Well, you still have to pay 23 M€ before you get the 4 in return - but for UNMI it is great to know that if they can afford that, they will also afford their extra TR raise.
Hey Isaac. Thnx alot for the amazing Terraforming Mars games, we always look forward to new content. We tried the turmoil expansion yesterday and found it interestingly but difficult to play... Why do all players decrease TR by 1 ? It doesn't seem rational since it affects players. The only way it could make sense is if all players reduces megacredit production by 1... - i cant remember any other card that reduces TR before this expansion, so what happens when you loose 1TR? Thanks alot
Wouldn’t mars first be dominant party? There’s four yellows, yellow is the leader there. Sure red is the main guy from last gen, but only has 3 in reds.
Just finished a 2 player game of TF Mars with all the expansions (except turmoil) and the corporate deck. Took like 5 hours and had played through only half the deck. This new expansion looks complicated. Do you have any plans to release an official PC version of Terraforming Mars? Asmodee doesn't count...
Well, both thematically and design-wise we thought this made sense. We tried without this reduction at first, but the game turned into a everybody-wins-millions-always. So it made sense that because you gain so much from the terraforming committee, they must cut their budget somewhere else. Instead of getting a steady imcome based om old merits, you now try to influence the committee to give you a better bonus than the others.
@@isaacfryxelius979 Thanks for getting back to me. I guess it makes sense if you explain it that way, it's always interesting to better understand certain design decisions in a board game. For Unity and Greens you get 1 M€ per tag, not per set of tags.
