Well a blaster get you a about a quarter of the 330 card set if you take away inserts. There is a pattern the cards are packs so you can easily get dupes when opening 2 or 3 blasters.
Further proof Fanatics is ruining the hobby. Odds are a joke and I'm sorry it's going to be printed even more than Series 1 last year. The odds of pulls tell you all you need to know. Glad I stocked up on 22 Update
I like that Scherzer Aces insert #LGM but other than that, the base cards are hideous. They also really need to do away with these crappy fake relic cards, these may be the worst yet and no one likes them. Heck, the "patch" is even crooked on them. Thanks for the first look.
I did with a lot of other rookies I feel that are on the same level as him. Just try to not take up too much time sleeving a ton on camera and draw out the length of my videos.
That's exactly what I'm looking for is price point. I heard anywhere from 20 to 35$s lol on ebay there 30$s plus 4 shipping so with that being said I'm guessing 25$s
Officially in the junk wax 2.0 era. Have to buy 14 blasters to get one numbered card. And they nerfed retail. 3 times harder now to pull hits in retail than hobby. First time the odds have been different like that.
I’m old I started ripping in 1981 but quit when JW era came, I restarted in 2020 and bought all retail and my pulls all sucked I’m only buying hobby for now on. Kinda switched gears back to vintage also This is definitely JW era 2.0
I don't understand why always the big deal with Topps series 1 paper, it's always printed a lot and is usually never good. I always wait until chrome comes out but buy what you like!
At least they spelled Yazstremski correctly for series one this year unlike in 2022 series 1 (yet Yazstremski was spelled correctly on his opening day card).
comparing pack odds from 2022 update to this, this is like 4 times over printed than series update..... looks like golds are gonna hold more value since you have to go through more product to get a gold parallel
The aces with the curved corners and holo treatment is nice. That one definately looks more like a Panini insert, except with logos! very nice. Great first look, really appreciate the rip!
Topps is usually pretty good about releasing retail products at the same time as hobby boxes. Panini tends to send out retail products a few weeks after the hobby products come out.
Will not be buying much of this short of maybe saving for one Jumbo Hobby. Seems to be the only way you can get anything but base!! Still good looking cards!
Man I was going to order a case of hangers but definitely not anymore. It will be a miracle to get just a random gold out of 2023. I’ll keep buying singles and wait for bowman to come out.
@@StepHenSportsCards you can pull those cards out of all forms of packaging but not I’m not sure if they are true case hits this year due to them not being posted on the odds.
I'm not sure why, but this design does not feel "flagship" to me. It feels like an insert design or something that Big League would use. I think it is one of those love-it-or-hate-it designs. At least the names are horizontal, so that is a plus!
@@OgreBreaks Upon further review, I feel like the design could have been designed by early 2000s ESPN staff. It feel like the little player head at the bottom is about to tell us where they went to high school.
WOW, the golds are 1 out of 99 packs! They printed this to the moon and back! Last years series 1 was 1 out of 38 packs to pull a gold and I thought that was high.
So last year was 1:38 and this year is 1:99 and it's because they've produced more cards, almost 3x more than last year? I was confused because I assumed they produced the same number of Cards as last year and made the odds harder for retail or something...but that's not correct is it?
@@StepHenSportsCards nope, they just printed more. Using the “Golds” as an indicator makes it easier to determine print run as they essentially make the same amount each year.
@@StepHenSportsCards rumor is that print runs are higher this year. There are some other UA-cam channels that break down the print runs and how many boxes are expected to be out there in all formats.
So it looks like Hobby odds are significantly better this year at the expense of retail. Wish I’d have known that before I pre-ordered blasters from Target. My mistake. Extra excited for my jumbos now though!
Thanks for posting. Waiting for mine to come in. Not loving the design so far and the blaster “relics” are not great. I hope the print runs are at least down and the rookies will have some value! Thx for posting
I was really looking forward to this release but them odds are doodoo lol I’m new to collecting but shout out to everyone explaining the techniques they use to calculate print runs
@@randallrobertson3458 hey man when I wrote that comment I hadn't seen any odds so it was more about being excited for the content. But I agree fanatics is killing retail it's very worrisome.
At those odds, I'm staying far away from this product, at least in blaster form. Hopefully the odds for other types of packs (hangers, hobby, etc) are better, but I doubt it.
Remind of 83 and 84 Topps, which are two of my favorite Topps designs. Yeah, wish the patches were better quality, but overall looking forward to getting some blaster boxes myself. Thanks for the video.
Won't be buying any retail of this, I have bought tons of blasters, hangers, and fat packs every year including last year. But they are definitely waking me up to things. I think it's time to sell of everything I got and get out of this hobby. Too many anomalies. Said in 2020 cards will be a thing of the past soon and its coming true every day
Wow nothing big other than a couple rookie base. Thought you would've gotten something #d. I'll need to see more breaks and see before I start spending that $$.
Thanks now I know I ain’t buying a single box WTF is this Topps oh my they should be fined for littering our streets when all the damn boxes that are going to be opened 😤🤯😱
I kind of like the heads at the bottom corner. Just a little bit. You Said a Giant Pog, someone throw a Slammer on the Card lol jk. The Team Logo Patches reminds me of Coasters... The Inserts are kinda Meh, not much pizzazz to them. I Like the Look of the Aces Card tho. That's a Sharp Looking Card.
Pack wrapping looks large
Pulled a 20/50 gerrit cole
I got 3 blasters and pulled a SSP Trevor Story, definitely easier to spot.
Nice pull!
Think I'm buying singles or just buying jumbo packs
take as time you bro i a here to the cards
If you want to get rid of Albies, or O’Neil Cruz, just lmk
Great the time I get back into baseball, and it's wax era packs again. Jesus.
It’s is happening with all spots.

those pack odds look horrendous
Unfortunately they are this year.
Thanks for sharing this!
Rutchmans from my little town. His whole family are great athletes. Cool that you got that card
Thank you 🙏🍀
i find it funny that topps stole the design aces from mosaic pannini
Just like how they made the HFA cards look a little like downtowns as well.
9:38 I was gonna say a pog too
5$ in cards for $50 I’ll have to keep passing and stick to vintage
Exciting yet disappointing. Congratulations though good luck👍
How much a box?
24.99
Very disappointed that the Adam Wainwright card in this series is simply a stock photo seen on other cards.
I agree. They have been doing it more and more. Panini will also use the same picture with multiple cards as well.

Jumbo is a win, retail not so much.
Like the new design on Stars of MLB
No numbered cards or parallels, I guess it’s safe to say the print runs are still high.

I’ll probably be holding off on 2023 Series 1
I saw the production numbers of 2023 MLB Topps Series 1 was 972,749 per player base card.
Oof.
I don’t know what the estimated number is but I would say it would be close to that. Last years series 1 was close to 750k I remember

I'm 43, bite your tongue, the last thing the hobby needs is topps printing chase worthy pogs and slammer. Great looking set.
Lol, did you say pogs 😂. Cool stuff finding this early!!
Yes I did!
Last week everyone was complaining about too many numbered cards. This week, there aren't enough.
There’s still too many you just have to spend $200 to get one now instead of $20 lmao
