I ordered the same one but without the fabric. My only complaint and the biggest problem is the rubber mesh. Because the seat is tilted forward for ergonomic back support, when you seat the rubber mesh pull your pant up causing to strangle your private parts, resulting in a very uncomfortable seat. The only solution is to pull down your jeans and underwear like 4 inches so you have enough room when you seat.

@@JakeReevesVideo I don't use the chair for longer then a few hours a day. So the Ergochair2 seems to be a winner for me. Thank you for the input and quick reply.
The Kinn is what I used more. The seat cushion is much firmer than the Ergo - though others have had issues with bottoming out through the seat cushion on the Ergo - so worth considering. The Ergo has more adjustments, but I prefered the unconstrained seatback of the Kinn chair. I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help. My discount currently isn't working - I've reached out to the company about it and it should be fixed shortly. So try it out later 👍
There is a very slight looseness to the lock on my chair that allows it to shift slightly forward and back while it is in the locked position. Like 0.5mm, but every once in a while you feel out slide within that tolerance gap. Others haven't reported this, but I noticed it on my chair. Probably just a minor tolerance issue.
The seat pan is adjustable between 16-19" and the seat height goes between 17-21", so I would measure the height and depth of a chair you like - I suspect it would be OK, but definitely worth a measure 👍 Good luck ✌️
If you can get the Herman-Miller in good condition with any sort of warranty, that may be worthwhile. The Kinn is a nice mid-tier ergonomic chair, but Herman-Miller do have better construction overall. I have the Kinn at my secondary desk and still use it from time to time, but now have an Embody at my primary desk. Good luck with the decision!
Hey Jake, Im torn between the Kinn and the ErgoChair2. How would you compare the lumbar support between the two? Also do you ever use the forward tilt on the ErgoChair? Does the back of the chair angle forward with this - like some of the top gaming chairs do now? And I know you've mentioned for other comments that you dont use the headrest much... with your height, if you were to comfortably lean back, do you get some sort of support for your head on the Kinn chair? Thanks so much!
Hey, thanks for watching! I personally use the Kinn chair most frequently, but if lumbar support is your most important feature, I think the ErgoChair 2 has the better support. The forward tilt feature does move the seatback forward, which actually is most impactful if you're looking for a lot of lumbar support (I kind of wish the Kinn chair had this now that I think of it). And finally, at my height I get no head support on the Kinn chair at all. The one caution I'll give to the ErgoChair 2 is that the seat does soften a little over time. It's still good for me (175lbs) but you may want to take that into consideration. Good luck with your choice!
Jake Reeves thanks for the input! I like the concept of the forward tilt, but I’m not sure if I would use it... or if it would be uncomfortable. Do you find it comfortable and helpful if you’re leaning more into your desk? I think I’m less of a lean backer and typically upright or leaning forward.. but that could just be a bad chair causing me to slouch and lean forward... thoughts?
It's hard to break the habit of leaning forward, but that is when I find the forward tilt more useful. It wasn't something I used originally, but have started using it more in the last 2-months to make me sit more upright.
Yes it took forever to come... And I don't think that is a unique issue to me either. I've seen quite a few comments. Their website warned it would be a while, but on top of that there were delays.
@@JakeReevesVideo Thats a bit hectic, alright then 2 things I would love your help on, (1) I've checked out all your reviews on the MyoChair, Ergo 2 and Kinn Chair, for a designer mostly/gamer which would you recommend? And (2) are there any other brands that offer the wide range of shipping and quality that Autonomous does?
I think you would be best suited to the ErgoChair 2 or the Kinn chair then... A lot of people have reported that the ErgoChair 2 seat has issues over time with the foam becoming soft, so depending on how much you weigh this may be a consideration. I haven't had this issue (175lbs) but I also don't use it daily. More often I use the Kinn right now. The other company I would look at (which I am going to personally be looking at next) is Herman Miller. But keep in mind that the price will go up substantially.
@@JakeReevesVideo Am 185lbs so am guessing I should be okay for a bit, as for the seat becoming soft, would placing a seat pillow fix it? Maybe? I did take a look at the Herman Miller chairs and my oh my that price tag was a bit higher than I am willing to spend sadly, currently want to build a new rig as well so. But will definitely be looking forward to seeing your reviews on those, for now what I'll do is take another look at both your Kinn and Ergo2 reviews and decide from there
You can definitely pair the ErgoChair 2 with an extra cushion. I've seen others do that. Ya, Herman Miller is pretty pricey... Definitely a step up in quality and costs. Good luck with your decision! 👍 And thanks for watching ✌️
I'd like to compare them as well, but I'm not sure I would say they are the same thing... They are both frameless backs, but I'm sure there are some substantial material/build differences that give HM the confidence to pass along a 12 year warranty with the embody. Thanks for watching 👍✌️
I have the embody & I love it. By far the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on. I’m looking for another chair for my other set up. Not wanting to spend another grand on the embody. This is a great option!
@@Maradnus I have it also and can say its the best chair I've ever owned. I'm going to return it as its just too expensive and I'm out of work because of the pandemic. The total price of the chair in Canada after taxes is $2,300.
@@Maradnus The one thing I noticed about the autonomous chair is you can't adjust the back of it forward and backwards like you can with the Embody. (I think its called posture fit on the embody). The kinn chair just has it at a preset position that can't be adjusted. Something to keep in mind.
Hey, after all these months using the Kinn chair, could you tell me how do you still feel about the chair and the comfortability of the seat itself, I was debating this chair or the herman Miller Sayl , but I was thinking the Kinn has better breathability on the seat.
I still like it. It has become my chair for my secondary desk though, as I picked up an Embody for my primary desk. If it was between this and the Sayl, I would probably try the Sayl. Though the Kinn is good, Herman-Miller build quality and warranty are better.
Your mileage may vary. Some people get Kinn chairs that are incredibly easy to assemble "it just works", whereas others (like myself) get chairs that are literally impossible to assemble. The only thing Autonomous offered in the way of support was a $25 refund for the chair that costs $460 and is literally unusable. Hope this helps you make a decision.
Tough call. I haven't used either of those, so I can't comment directly. But I think an important factor would be how much retained warranty would be on the used products. They have exceptionally long warranties to begin with, so even though they are used you may get a better warranty. And I do believe that those would be better chairs in a direct new-to-new comparison, but used, you'll want to make sure you get a decent warranty still and see what condition they are in, which varies a lot case-by-case (at least where they sell used ones in my home town). Good luck with the decision!
I have had this chair now for over 2 years, and the stupid springs just hurt my ass now. Also because i have an old back injury i wish the lumbar support would have been adjustable because now it just give me pain. So for long time investment look for someting with a better seat.
No, unfortunately they aren't completely removable. They are built into the base frame. You may be able to remove the sliding parts, but it doesn't look simple and you would be left with the external column still there.
@@JakeReevesVideo thanks very much for the reply. Sometimes I use a keyboard and mouse right on my lap...so will try to visualize the width needed before buying.
@@blueflavour5215 I have a full-sized keyboard (with number pad) and it fits on my lap without interfering with the arms, and it's ok to use when the arms are all the way down - but your mileage may vary. Good luck!
How is this over a Herman Miller Aeron? I got an Aeron size B but also I have really long legs so wondering if selling the Aeron and getting this would be an upgrade?
Hmmm... That's a tough one. I haven't tried a Herman Miller Aeron at the same time, only a few months separated and briefly, so it's hard for me to say. For reference, I'm 5'9" and this chair fits me well, and I quite like the frameless back - that's my primary reason I use the Kinn chair as my daily seat right now. Sorry I couldn't give you a direct answer. If I were to upgrade from the Kinn chair it would probably be to the Embody because I've gotten used to the frameless back.
@@JakeReevesVideo I have bought the chair, Thank you. I have been experiencing discomfort behind my thigh as it seems to be hitting a bar at the edge o the seat. have you experienced the same ?
I've been looking into autonomous chairs and just can decide between ergo chair 2 or the kinn as I am now studying from home due to corona and I like to game so I sit at my desk for quite a long time the only decisive factor is that I'm 6' and don't know which to go for as I don't know if I need a headrest or not if I'm trying to relax and lean back on the chair
Fair consideration. I have both and I use the Kinn as my primary chair because I like how the frameless back allows me to move throughout the day without feeling quite so rigid - something I truly wasn't aware of until I tried a frameless chair. But either had the tilt-tension adjustments, which is good. For the headrest, I'd ask if you use one now or not? I do like it, but for me it's not a game-changer because I usually don't recline long enough to really need it there. Also, if I were mobile gaming I wouldn't likely hold the phone over my head when reclined (I've hit myself in the face with my phone too often laying on the bed doing that)... Good luck!
hello Jake, nice review ! i'm looking for a new office chair, i work around 10 hours a day in front of my pc. I dont know wich chair to choose between the kinn and the herman miller sayl, do you think the sayl is worth the extra money ?
That's a tough call... I've actually been debating getting the Sayl for review as well. The Sayl seems to be a much simpler chair, but I wouldn't underestimate it because it is Herman Miller. If it were me, I would probably take a chance on the Sayl. I've sat in them before and they are quite comfortable.
@@JakeReevesVideo I see, what i like about the sayl aswell is the "compactness" and i also feel like there is less chance of parts breaking simply because there is less parts. The only thing that could bother me is the back of the sayl, it is kinda short dont you think ?
I would agree with the construction - Herman Miller will undoubtedly have better build quality. For the seat back, I see what you're saying, it does look a little short. I don't recall this being a problem when I used it before, but that was a few years ago now...
No problem. Don't wait for my review to make your decision necessarily though, I haven't bought the chair yet, and have a lot of other things to push out first, so I'm not sure when/if I'll have the time to get to it.
I can't say I've tried the Secret Labs chairs, so I can't give you a straight answer. But I think the biggest factor beyond aesthetics is going to be whether you like mesh seats (Kinn) or foam (Secret Labs). Good luck with the decision! ✌️

I have moved to another chair for review now, but I used the Kinn for a few months and I was quite happy with it. It is a firm seat though, so you have to like that. Otherwise, I really liked how free moving the back was. I still have it as my chair at my secondary desk.
@@liam4184 my best suggestion is to look thru craigslist or marketplace and find a good Steelcase or Herman Miller chair. Usually $$ but sometimes businesses close and get rid of some good ones
I haven't personally tried the Mirra 2, but it is a really beautiful chair. If you could get it with a good warranty than I would be inclined to try the Herman-Miller at that price difference. But again, I haven't tried it, so I can't say for sure.
@@JakeReevesVideo Thanks for the answer ! Can you please tell me if you still recommend this chair ? Honnestly i already have ordered a Kinn chair with mesh but i want to be sure im not doing a bad choice buying this chair because i suffer back pain right now since 3 months... I do still recommend it. Currently, I've been using it as my primary chair for the past few months and I do quite like it. Typically Herman-Miller chairs are in a different price-class though, which is why if they are about the same price I think it would be worth a look.
How is the cushion on this seat? Is it comfortable over time? Cause the one i have bottoms out even though im only like 140 pounds, just looking for something cheap and comfy to game on until i have enough money for a herman miller.
It is OK. I use it regularly, and it is good, but not as plush as a foam cushion. Occasionally I catch myself sitting in a funny position where it is less comfortable, but overall I think you would be OK with it. Having said that, if you are going to buy a Herman Miller anyways, then I would save the money you would spend on this chair and put it towards that purchase. Maybe look at the Herman Miller Sayl gaming chair. It isn't too much more expensive than this. Good luck!
I don't think you're supposed to remove it, and I suspect you would probably ruin the clean aesthetic by pealing it off the TPE. I know you've already ordered, but if you don't want it, there are options with just the TPE and no mesh. Thanks for watching ✌️
I do actually... At first I wasn't sure I would, but I like the extra firmness of the spring and TPE base, the ease with which the back flexes and the overall aesthetic. The ErgoChair is nice too though, in particular its seatback can be released to push further inwards towards your back, which (paired with the adjustable lumbar support) is nice if you tend to lean more over your desk. Also, it's worth mentioning that the Kinn chair has a 5 year warranty, while the ErgoChair only has a 2 year warranty I believe... Either way, good luck! ✌️
I would suspect so. Your best bet is to measure the seat height and depth of the chair you find most comfortable and compare those to the range of the Kinn chair 👍
I'm afraid I'm not qualified to make a recommendation based on pain. I would recommend you talk to your doctor. There are simply too many things that can cause neck and back pain... Good luck! ✌️

Mirra 2 is on a completely different level to the Kinn, there's no comparison.
Wait, 4months to ship to you? Cause I want to get one
I really want to see this chair compared to the Herman Miller Embody. They are essentially the same thing but this is 1000x cheaper.
@@Picksodus igot mine here last month in the uk for £965 new!
The only reason I got it was it was so cheap vs the £1700/1900 price tag!
Thank youu for the response
You're very welcome 👍 Good luck with your decision
Great review, thanks... How easy was it to assemble? I've read quite a few reviews on Reddit saying that it's a real struggle!
The Kinn chair was pretty easy to assemble. It came in only a few pieces. Definitely easier than the ErgoChair 2 or the Myo chair ✌️
Is this a good option over a used steelcase gesture or herman miller embody?
Any idea how to remove the sliding part of the armrest from the chair ??
I haven't tried, but I think there may be a bolt on the underside, which I suspect is a part of the retaining mechanism.
Ah ok - could I request you to measure the armrest height (from the floor) at its lowest position when the chair is at its lowest as well - thx
When the chair and arms are in the lowest positions I measure about 22.5" to the top of the armrests
Great review. Do you know if the arms are removable? (Even if need to use a screwdriver)
Good luck!
lol I finally saved enough for this chair and now it went up an extra 200. lol
If it was $420 I'd likely buy it today. $699 for this chair is too high!
Chris Whitmer pretty much used Herman Miller territory and that’s what I ended up getting because I feel at 700 is too high
Is better to buy with our without mesh or the back?
I am glad I got it with the mesh. It's a little more of a traditional fabric feel if you have bare skin against it, as opposed to the exposed TPE.
@@JakeReevesVideo Thank you for the feedback! are there any long term issues so far that you have experienced?
Nothing so far. The closest thing is that the seat has remained quite firm.
@@JakeReevesVideo I have bought the chair, Thank you. I have been experiencing discomfort behind my thigh as it seems to be hitting a bar at the edge o the seat. have you experienced the same ?
I haven't experienced that. Sorry to hear it. Have you adjusted the seat pan further back so your legs don't contact as much?
Good luck!
@@JakeReevesVideo thanks for the help, i think im gonna get the kinn chair
Happy I could help. Let me know if you have any other questions about it and I'll do my best to answer.
@@tauseefmoghal3391 I had the same question in mind because I'm 6'1, could you let me know if you need a headrest or not

hello Jake, nice review ! i'm looking for a new office chair, i work around 10 hours a day in front of my pc.
@@JakeReevesVideo Alright ! thank you for the answers ! i'll keep an eye out for the sayl's review :)
No problem. Don't wait for my review to make your decision necessarily though, I haven't bought the chair yet, and have a lot of other things to push out first, so I'm not sure when/if I'll have the time to get to it.
ordered mine today on sale for 490 after tax
Kinn vs secret lab?
I can't say I've tried the Secret Labs chairs, so I can't give you a straight answer. But I think the biggest factor beyond aesthetics is going to be whether you like mesh seats (Kinn) or foam (Secret Labs). Good luck with the decision! ✌️
Would you recommend this chair over the Ergochair 2? I just ordered it yesterday, but I still want to justify my decision lol 😆
I use both, but I use the Kinn chair more frequently than the ErgoChair 2 because I like the freedom to move that comes with a frameless back design.
@@JakeReevesVideo Awesome, thanks for the fast reply. I'm sure it will be a big step up from the $50 pleather chair from Amazon i have now too. Can't wait until it gets here, but it doesn't ship until October 8th...
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. The shipping is a big issue right now I think. I ordered mine in April and got it in August... Hopefully something that improves 👍
what do you think is the best model of the chair of Autonomous? If the price is not a consideration btw.
If you could only use one chair for 4 years between the ergo 2, kinn, and myo, which would u choose?
Probably the Kinn. The warranty is longer, and it's the one I find myself using most these days. Good luck with your decision ✌️
@@JakeReevesVideo thanks!
Okay so it's been awhile, how do you feel about the chair now? Still a good buy?
I have moved to another chair for review now, but I used the Kinn for a few months and I was quite happy with it. It is a firm seat though, so you have to like that. Otherwise, I really liked how free moving the back was. I still have it as my chair at my secondary desk.
I dnt recommend it. Ive sat on better and cheaper. Had for 7 months now
@@Jvrios00016 Any recommendations for a similar price?
@@liam4184 my best suggestion is to look thru craigslist or marketplace and find a good Steelcase or Herman Miller chair. Usually $$ but sometimes businesses close and get rid of some good ones
Hello, for you what is the most interesting purchase, a Herman miller mira 2 used for 614€ or a Autonomous Kinn chair for 450€ ? Ty
I have a standard gaming chair right now... :p Ty again !
I do still recommend it. Currently, I've been using it as my primary chair for the past few months and I do quite like it. Typically Herman-Miller chairs are in a different price-class though, which is why if they are about the same price I think it would be worth a look.
what is the promo code?
JakeSave5 should work now 👍
How is the cushion on this seat?
Good luck!
Just used your discount code. Thanks
Nice 👍 I hope you enjoy your chair ✌️
Is the blue mesh material removable? great review! mine gets shipped in less than a week!
I don't think you're supposed to remove it, and I suspect you would probably ruin the clean aesthetic by pealing it off the TPE. I know you've already ordered, but if you don't want it, there are options with just the TPE and no mesh. Thanks for watching ✌️
Do you prefer the Kinn over the Ergochair and what aspects specifically lead you to choose one over the other?
I do actually... At first I wasn't sure I would, but I like the extra firmness of the spring and TPE base, the ease with which the back flexes and the overall aesthetic. The ErgoChair is nice too though, in particular its seatback can be released to push further inwards towards your back, which (paired with the adjustable lumbar support) is nice if you tend to lean more over your desk. Also, it's worth mentioning that the Kinn chair has a 5 year warranty, while the ErgoChair only has a 2 year warranty I believe... Either way, good luck! ✌️
Great review, just for comparison, can you let us know your height and weight?
Sorry, I thought I had mentioned it, but I'm 5'9" or so, and about 175lbs.
Hello, I seem like I would buy it anytime. Because It is the right chair for me. It feels like right match for me. I think It is Whatever I look for.
Would i fit in this chair im 6'2 ?
I would suspect so. Your best bet is to measure the seat height and depth of the chair you find most comfortable and compare those to the range of the Kinn chair 👍
