Thank you for this simple yet informative video. I loved hearing music instead of hearing someone talking. Am inspired now and want to try this. Any tips on temperature, time of year that works best, and what other kinds of trees could be used? there are a lot of oak and maple tress here in NC. Thanks again 🌷
Glad to hear it. Where you are, fall would be best to cut and plant. You can cut your wood any time in the fall after the leaves change. Wait at least 2 weeks before planting to allow the natural anti-fungal compounds in the wood to die. For oyster mushrooms you can also use willow, cottonwood, mulberry, hackberry, tulip and yellow poplar and maple to a lesser extent. Oak is the prime species for shiitake cultivation. Shiitake is translated mushroom of the oak. Here's a site with a ton of helpful info: www.fieldforest.net/category/growing-outdoors Have fun and all the best!

Can pleurotus eryngii grow like that?
How many flushes can you get from this method?
You could see a couple flushes a year for several years.

@@WanNotJuan Yes, the logs should receive 1 inch of rain per week. If they don't, then they should be watered.
Helpful hint:
Put the tape measure away and use your chainsaw to measure with. It's a lot faster and easier.
Other than that, very intresting
Seems like a lot for so little
