I like the story based approach and that it’s not boring!! I love the audio as well for dyslexics!! Thanks for this review as always I look forward to watching all your informative videos.
"fun" lessons are definitely kind of rare where grammar is concerned. I am one of those people who naturally really enjoy grammar...but I have found over the years that most kids don't agree with me. The whole "mission" concept is intriguing!
Thanks for such a useful review! I've watched alot of other homeschool reviews and they are usually not in depth or helpful. I appreciated your clear advice on print vs. digital and the pros and cons! I think my son will love this as he always needs "fluff" to buy in to the lesson !
New to your videos and they have been super helpful! Such a great overview of Grammar Galaxy! This video led us to getting the audio book too and I'm so glad we did! He's a great reader, but struggles with his listening skills so the audiobook is a great way to practice this. We just have the book on hand to look at the vocab words. It's also great for kids with disgraphia or who are reluctant writers. My son loves using the erasable highlighter!
We would love to try grammar Galaxy! We are new to homeschooling & there are so many choices. I didn’t even know about GG until after I made my purchase. I can’t wait to try it next year!
Tuning in a little late... great review! Now I'm torn between this and Fix-It for my 9 and 10 year olds. Thoughts? My 9 year old has limited grammar exposure so far. I've met Melanie at a few conventions and she is truly a sweetheart!
So it is a bit similar to master books in the sense that it is a story based lesson however I feel like the similarities kinda stop there. You are focusing on one topic per week vs having activities on a variation of topics each week. This does not have reading instruction the way that master books does (although I found there reading instruction to be lacking). Also the stories are longer and more in depth then master books. Your right they are kind of in the same vain but when you actually dig into the content I find them completely different. Thanks for watching!
I’ve never found anything adequate in spelling and always had to add in spelling separately. This looks super interesting! I would love to see a flip through!
I don’t use this for spelling and it’s not really meant to be used for spelling. It’s hard to compare it to LLFLE as the approach’s are completely different. This is more story based then worksheet based. Not sure if that helps or not. It’s also been several years since I used LLFLE, sorry I can’t be more help.
Do you feel like there is a lot of repetition with this? Or just a brief review of previously taught concepts and then they can move on to learning something new?
I appreciate the review. Thank you. However, this is not Charlotte Mason based. People love to say everything story based is CM. But that just isn't true. She taught History and Science using living books with narration. But she taught Grammar and Spelling through copywork and dictation. Just because a curriculum uses a story to teach concepts doesn't make it CM.
So the teacher book is the story and concepts but there are no questions or activities for reinforcement so I would say unless you want to come up with your own activities yes you would want the workbook. Now that being said I actually like to get the digital copy of the workbook so I can print only the pages I want and so I can print it for future kids without having to repurchase material.
Flip through is finally up you can find it here

Yeah It makes all the difference in the world when they want to do it!

Yes if he likes fluff then he will probably love it. My son is the same way.
I’m new to homeschooling and I’m amazed at all the fun curriculum out there! Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!
I may be the official family grammar police...my kids would love this! I love finding fun ways to teach such important subjects!
I love that learning can be fun.

My kids are currently living Grammar Galaxy, and I love doing it with them!
It is such an awesome curriculum
The activity pack for vocabulary words sounds fun for those who want to dig deeper into the vocabulary words.
Yeah one of these days we will have to check those out lol
My kids would love that storyline as they learn grammar concepts.
Yes my kids reread the stories even after finishing a level.
We used it a few years ago and did really like it, I’m considering it again! Thanks for this video!

Tuning in a little late... great review! Now I'm torn between this and Fix-It for my 9 and 10 year olds. Thoughts? My 9 year old has limited grammar exposure so far. I've met Melanie at a few conventions and she is truly a sweetheart!
Another quick question- I know you use both- how much time per day for each- GG and Fix-It?
Both only take about 10-15 min
Thank you for such a thorough review. Definitely putting this on our list. Sounds like something my little would like.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for all the helpful info! We've never used this, and this is the kind of video that really helps to get a feel for what curriculum is like.
So glad it was helpful!
I've never heard of Grammar Galaxy! Sounds great, especially for kids that don't like grammar.

You are so welcome!
This sounds like a great, comprehensive program!
Yes it is and so fun
I've never considered grammar galaxy but appreciate the input anyway!! :D Keep it up!
Thanks!
This reminds me of Masterbooks. What are your thoughts?

Great I will for sure add that to my list of videos to make!
I agree on the flip through. That is how I purchased and decided on curriculum when I was new to homeschooling!
@@TheParentTeacherBridge I am the same way I will have to do a flip through in the next video or so.

How would you compare this to LLFLE? I have found LLFLE is great but the spelling isn’t a good fit.

You’re welcome
Never heard of this one! Thanks
Hope you like it!
This looks like a great curriculum!
It really is
I have never heard of this program before. Is it pretty new?
It’s about 4-5 years old so newish
I loved finding grammatical mistakes in school. Now I can’t remember half of what I used to know. 😳
Haha it happens to the best of us.
I have been curious about this program. I second the flip through 🤚
Awesome I will definitely do a flip through

Do you feel like there is a lot of repetition with this? Or just a brief review of previously taught concepts and then they can move on to learning something new?
There is not tons of repetition with this other then the brief review at the beginning of each chapter and an occasional quiz.
Thanks for telling us about it. I would love to see a flip through.
Will do!!
