Hi Kevin, help me understand meditate vs talking translation. I noticed KIV says talking while others say meditate. But these are two different things?

Hi, I hope this helps שׁיח means conversation, exchange of words, expression, discourse, talk, lecture, etc... If you look up the synonym for discourse it has 'hold forth', dissertate, etc... It isn't black and white. I personally don't have a problem with the KJV as I think it is still within the context of the meaning.

@ Thank you Sir! My thought was the KIV was in context and not the others that use the word meditate. Since most of the other translations say meditate I felt maybe I was misunderstanding the meaning.

Remember, the modern version of Hebrew was only reconstructed in the 1800s (the text was there, but exact pronunciation and exact translation, not so much...). There are a lot of things that could have been lost over the couple thousand years. This is why I can leave an opening for meditate vs. talking.
