I love that he references his character in a moment like that. Actions taken in those moments speak volumes about a person because he didn’t think about the details, he just felt it was the right thing to do. I’m new to running but will forever be a fan of Clayton Young.
I agree 100%. He should have dropped Mantz and just left him behind. This interview implies that he'd rather have kept Mantz as a training partner for Paris than beat him in Florida. If Conner is such poor loser then I'm not sure Clayton should have a relationship with him at all.
@@brianway4240ouch😳sad when someone puts friendship above sport and personal goals - even if the other person doesn’t reciprocate it’s about feeling right about yourself. Long after his running career is over he’ll be making good life decisions. Hard for many people to understand for sure.
@@brianway4240I don’t think Conner Mantz is a poor loser. I think it was a respect thing. If you watch any of the workout videos Mantz is such a workhorse/pacer for Clayton. Clayton is admitting he wouldn’t be the runner he is without Mantz. Clayton has the talent but he’s more reserved in workouts and knows deep down that he doesn’t push as hard as he can without Mantz.

I really want to see a picture of his daughters frog costume😂
still doesn’t sit well with me that they didn’t race out the trials
What do you mean
