FACT: The Missionaries first arrived in Hawaii AFTER the Kapu System was abolished by the Hawaiians!! by Rhiorhio and Kaahumanu... the Missionaries had zero to do with changing any rules at first. that was ALL Kamehameha II and Queen Kaahumanu's doings... the Kapu stem was all pau ONLY because of Rhiorhio and Kaahumanu .... ps the first alphabet via WmEllis, Bingham I, Ruggles etc. was 17 letters (add in B D V R T)... ie King Tamehameha never used a 'K' in his name during his lifetime..... Hawaii was the Most literate country in World many years later, it was more c1870's, not 1820's.. aroha
