It kicks like a .243 and hits like a .270. I've killed a bunch of deer with 6.5x55 out to 315 yard. Wow what a rifle. Get you a standard military trigger. You can't improve on those mauser triggers.

go ahead and add on a higher cheek weld , get tight on the stock. cheap easy and removable; self sticking cloth tape and a rolled piece of same tape , or pool noodle cut to size, or one of those micro fiber rags cut to size. soft to the cheek bone, perfectly aligned with the scope.

looks nice for a Sporter myself I see the appeal of them but I prefer military patterns for clip loading and bayonets

Think that's a Boyd's stock ?? I put one on a .308 Varmint build but just normal wood color..... Your rifle seems like a good shooter especially if ya got a deal on it.... The Sweds know how to push a pill.... be well.

Nice find man. I'd be interested to know the history on that rifle as well.

Awesome find. I like it. It looks really cool. I am with you on the bolt knob being an unfriendly design. I would be inclined to put more hand friendly knob on it, if I owned it. It definitely is a 1896. wickipedia has a very good write up with the history and variations of these rifles. They have the reputation of being one of the more accurate military mausers manufactured. I have a pretty good example of one of the 1896 long rifles, in original configuration. The rifle is more than 6 feet long with the bayonet affixed. I sometimes tell people that I can be in the house sitting at the kitchen table, and nudge something outside in the the driveway with the bayonet.😂😂😂

I'm missing the crayon connection until halfway thru the video, but I do notice that more of my coworkers seem to eat all their crayons daily. They say they want to move to California.
I'm sensing a shift in the trajectory of my career.
I've heard that only accurate Larry Potterfield's are interesting.
