Cavetown… My boyfriend loves your music, he’s been listening to it for years and he recently attended one of your concerts with his best friend in the Netherlands. Last night in the hospital (he’s finally receiving his top surgery today) he listened to your music on Spotify and told me there was something magical about listening to you in that hospital room. After he managed to fall asleep, eight minutes past midnight, I opened Spotify just to discover that you released this song on the day he’s been dreaming of for such a long time. The world is truly beautiful sometimes. 💕

@@Heizungauf0Unfortunately there’s been a turn of events… all the preparations had already been made and he was pretty much ready to be put to sleep, but all of a sudden there was an overflow of patients in life-threatening situations who urgently needed surgery, so they’ll need to reschedule. In the meantime he has to go back home, but I’m praying it’ll happen as soon as possible 🙁

I think this is the first song that truly pushes Cavetown’s chest voice. We’re seeing new confidence from him that we haven’t seen since before his voice dropped. I’m so excited to see what he does next!

Around 0:31 the guitar and drums feel like heartbeats, like you’re just realizing they’re in the room, or you’re trying to get the courage to speak to them. It’s not that often I find a song that kinda gives me butterflies(that’s she best way to describe it, it just portrays the feeling so perfectly) and I love it sm😭

How does robbie always manage to drop songs that comfort me during difficult times its like the songs express emotions that i dont know how to describe or get out and just listening to his songs make things so much less confusing

Nobody asked for an analysis of the new cavetown song so I bring it to you.
Let them know they're on your mind is so far one of Robin's "happiest" songs because of the beat and the lyrics. It's a bit rock pop and everything (like devil town or fool). He definitely moves away from his acoustic sound and leans towards the new, more electronic sound that he has been presenting since Worm Food. Although I don't usually listen to this type of music, I love it, because (aside from the fact that he does everything well) it makes me think that we are entering a new era of his sound (which has been happening since the previous album)
By the way, I love this effect he does now with the guitar, as if he turned the sound upside down in post production and it feels like the note dies? I don't know if I explain myself, but it's a sound that I also perceive from their Worm Food songs.
Another thing to highlight is that Robbie has a beautiful voice, in this song he seriously started using his chest voice and I find it amazing to hear him change and gain confidence despite the changes his voice has had. He is amazing.
Now, talking about the lyrics. SORRY I'M A LITTLE INSANE WHEN I'M LONELY. YEAH. As always it is something deeply personal and genuine. That's why it's beautiful. And obviously I relate to it, as with almost all of their songs. For me, Robbie is one of the modern kings of lyrics. I don't have much to say just... yes.
Anyway, this song made me very happy on a difficult day. Thank you Cavetown and everyone who read this far

Wow, this is... really good. I've been listening to this song on repeat and I can't describe the amount of pure joy it gives me. I laugh and smile and dance and want to write all my friends to let them know they're on my mind. This song really touched me and made me think about the people I love, it's inspiring. @@Illogical_Tales I mean, his stuff from 2017-2021 was like indie folk and pop, while his stuff from 2013-2016 was more electronic and indie rock leaning. it wasn’t until 2022-2023ish when he went back to that older sound. (In my opinion at least)
