The 3-4 years previous to this & the year or so after, was the greatest era for us in terms of the squads we had. I was 10 during this season, spent a lot of time at Central Park as a kid, miss the place, same goes for the old Springfield Park, miss that place, too.
Henry Paul was quality for us. A couple year ago I made my all time best ever Wigan 13 plus 5 subs & Henry had a spot in the subs, always rated him highly even when he was at wakey
Best win: stains at Knowsley safari park. Typical St Helens dirt with fogerty’s head butt on cowie (yet only a sin bin), pickavance’s random violence against the mild mannered kelvin and Henry Paul sent off for no reason.. yet still they won much to the chargrin of the stains commentator 🤣

I still miss Robin Park where the town games used to happen - I beat Sean Edwards in the 100 yard dash back in 79 lol
Back then you can see a lot of play pass used with a lot of ball play then the ball being looped good stuff to see special moments
