- The Penukonda Fort is a hilltop fort in the town of Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh, India. The fort was originally built in the 14th century by the Hoysala kings and later strengthened by the Vijayanagara kings. It was the capital and refuge of the Vijayanagara kings after the battle of Talikota.
The word "Penukonda" comes from the Telugu words penu which means "great, large" and koṇḍa which means "hill".
The fort is about 70 kilometers from Anantapur. Some say that the 5 kilometer track to the top is amazing, but one should be careful while riding up the hills.

Thank you ❤
Sir exactly what best time to visit this place?
It would be better if you leave early, have breakfast before crossing Karnataka border and go.
It gets sunny and there are no resturants available after crossing Karnataka border
