staybeautiful You can find very bright clamp work lights at homedepot! They are very popular in the filmmaking UA-cam community and are around $10 - $15 :)
I can get you down for a DIY diva ring for $23 after tax... You will need: From Dollar tree, -Floral wire wreath base -zip ties -poster board -aluminum foil -wax paper From Walmart, - LED rope light in a "daylight" or "soft white" color ..about 6' one - extension cord cable Should be able to get all that for $20-$25 Then if you want to, attach it to a tripod
Can you try something like this like : Use cereal boxes, milk cartons, chip wrappers basically food trash and use it as a backdrop. That probably made no sense but I'm just sharing my thoughts because i really like that you share your tips instead of being so secretive about what your career is.
Diversity Voiced not at all! I actually eat a lot of snacks so I thought maybe recycle and make it as a backdrop, but honestly I'm not good at taking that big risks
To people asking why the re uploaded she said on her Instagram story it uploaded by mistake and wasn’t meant to premier at that time haha! Been looking forward to seeing it 😄
YOOOO Jess this was a killer video today! I was literally shocked that the back drop turned out so dope from the supplies you used. I'm so excited to give this a try in my house lol. You always are getting so artsy I love it. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and keep up the amazing work!
Alex Iby thank you so so much! Seriously I’m really happy you like it, always nice to have some options when it comes to expensive photography equipment :) appreciate you watching and supporting it!
You are most welcome Jess! After I grow my channel a bit more it'd be awesome to do some sort of photo challenge collab with you!! =) Have a lovely day!!
Yes!!!! I got a wood sitting stool from Goodwill thrift store for 6.99 and a circle tablecloth for 6.99 as well! This video helps me set up my newfound items for photos!
I want to thank you because i been wanted to become a photographer since i was a little girl. And i gave up on my dreams a long time ago because of money, you help me realize I don’t really need that much and all i need is passion. SO THANK YOU ❤️❤️
I just love it! I always have to rent a studio and is kind of difficult for me sometimes. This is genius!. Yesterday, I made a photoshoot with a cloth I found in a store, put it in my yard and it worked for me. But the texture I can give it to it with just some paint, it's amazing. I admire you Jessica!
After subscribed your channel for more than 2 months, then you become my favourite photographer! You always inspires me! Thank you for upload this amazing DIY. Can't wait to try this! :)
I really liked this. I wasn't sure at first what it was gonna turn out like but when I saw the pictures you took they looked amazing.. Definitely gonna be doing this.
Love this! And you said backdrops can cost $100 ... I actually know of backdrops that cost $1,000! This is ingenious!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the creativity you have!
Destiny Loewen okay, well $500 is still a lot. And if you don't have the $700 iPhone to shoot good videos on because many other brands don't have good video quality, or only have enough storage to film half of a UA-cam video. So there's still a lot of money going to this. But if you have any suggestions please let me know 😊
Creative, frugal, funny, and cute. Great diy very good idea. I do recommend showing the professional photos before in the beginning. It's a preview as well as will look better when we don't know how you did it. Overall great job!
Still now I'm a mobile photographer after watching most of the video's from this channel I'm planning to buy a DSLR camera so please @jessica or someone suggest me a good camera name
I'm sure you can google that yourself ;) but the 6D is somewhere around 1400 dollars and for that money you get a really really good crop sensor camera.
Yeah that's what I meant by natural light. I meant if your in a place where there is no sunlight and you only have crappy overhead lights. Thank you so much for the tip though!
I know its an investment but there are some cheap speedlights on amazon OR constant light setups as well. A lot of those work pretty well and get you pretty good light! I recommend the Speedlight because you can use it in more scenarios!
this video was quite entertaining... the jump rope made me definitely laugh... since I am a figure skater and also a photographer myself... lol... just the physical activity made me totally laugh... great idea! I create different videos then you but this one is a gold... all the best to you Jessica!
Lillian Simpson thank you so much! Between my videos and photos, the struggle is real ! I'll try to find some cheap desk lamps maybe clip ones! Thanks gain Lillian x
The French Mode No worries! I've been finding them so useful, and you can get excellent results if you have a shelf or something to put the light on, or someone to hold it up 😊
Hello i’m new on your Channel, please can you make a video on how to take full lenght body picture please,im beginner 🤗.with love from france..other people can feel free to help me thx
I think you're Genius!!! I have recently bought 6 table cloths for the same purpose, from the same store! (just before the pandemic price change) I love the jump rope tip! I have a hallway I'd like to hang a backdrop in. You made me Happy 😊. Thanks 🦋
I've been dabbling with a home studio set up for a while and if space is tight, I've found that using adjustable laundry clothing drying organisers that have two adjustable floor to ceiling poles plus getting a retractable bathroom shower curtain rod (1.5m to 3m length) work great as makeshift scaffold to hang the background. You can adjust the width to suit your room. However if you ceiling is too high, this solution does not work. I haven't tried it, but I suppose you can also use it as a huge soft box for full length portraits by hanging shower curtains or similar material on it and firing the several speedlites through it. Anyway, the best thing is that you don't have to drill holes in the walls or anything and you can tear it down anytime for other activities and you can take it with you when you move house.
This is powerful. It shows that you really DON'T need a ton of money to put something great together. Well done. I was thinking of a similar set up, and this is easier and cheaper.
This is hilarious! but seriously all your talent is in your photography so you can make anything look amazing! to me the background look horrendous, but you made it look amazing in your photos! good job !
I had to subscribe girl! As if the 5 dollar backdrop wasn't enough I was sold at the No physical activity promise! Seriously though the backdrops are great! They're really versatile and can be as subtle or dramatic as you want. Thank you!
So clever! Thank you for this. I'm going to use this for my wedding. After the ceremony we're having everyone wait to take pictures with us in a rented room at the hotel and this DIY back drop is perfect
Jessica, models always try to stand right up against the backdrop. Don't forget to tell them to take a couple of steps away from the backdrop. I think backdrops look better when they are out of focus.
Literally this is what I was looking for! I don't have much self confidence so I wanted to try taking self portraits in my bedroom. This is really helpful! Thank you very much :)
Jessica... this is BRILLIANT! As a stay at home mom and one income family, we are on a tight budget.. so me doing photography as a new hobby has been a bit challenging. This video was so helpful! Looking forward to some "arts and crafts" w my little and taking some photos with our new backdrop! ❤ - C

"how easy was that ,it was like going to the gym and doing nothing" that comment 😂😂😂
Love this! And you said backdrops can cost $100 ... I actually know of backdrops that cost $1,000! This is ingenious!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the creativity you have!
But then you need the $1,000 camera....
Dakota Skyes not necessarily, I got one for 500-600 dollars. Plus these days you can get really good pictures with your phone
Destiny Loewen okay, well $500 is still a lot. And if you don't have the $700 iPhone to shoot good videos on because many other brands don't have good video quality, or only have enough storage to film half of a UA-cam video. Spent $200 on my canon 7D 🤷🏾♂️
My cellphone cost $180 USD and has the same camera as the Samsung Galaxy S7
The gear really doesn't make the photographer. It's about being resourceful and knowing your trade.
Creative, frugal, funny, and cute. Great diy very good idea. I do recommend showing the professional photos before in the beginning. It's a preview as well as will look better when we don't know how you did it. Overall great job!
I love this video!! This is an awesome idea! This will help me out and save some money on backdrops and equipment. Thanks! :)
Breanna Emberlin glad I could help! Thanks so much for watching Breanna!!
Improvisation at its peak. Your just gained a new subscriber. I've been searchin for women in photography, I just found one good one
IM SO HAPPY FOR THIS VIDEO YOU HAVE NO IDEA
Here I was going to put on music to do an essay for school, but then I saw that you uploaded a new video and I love it so much!!
"don't worry, there's no physical activity on this channel" 😂
This the best video I’ve ever seen, I love how she always goes straight to what we came from
Still now I'm a mobile photographer after watching most of the video's from this channel I'm planning to buy a DSLR camera so please @jessica or someone suggest me a good camera name
Dino Creations Canon 6D hands down for starting. Amazing quality at an affordable price.
But has a really weak autofocus and only 9 or so AF points. For that money, I would rather buy a crop sensor high end camera.
What's its cost in $
I'm sure you can google that yourself ;) but the 6D is somewhere around 1400 dollars and for that money you get a really really good crop sensor camera.
Ohh 1400 $ 😨😨
How much crop sensor camera costs
Thank you Jessica! This is literally the best studio set up i've seen!
Notif squad💕💕
Femy Ontiveros nice profile pic 😂😍
You are my favorite person to watch for these videos. I appreciate you so much oml.
Love this! Do you have any cheap hacks for lighting (other than natural of course) or inexpensive options? Love your videos!
Sun is free and you can just reflect it with any reflective white surface.

Awesome idea ! Thanks Jessica ! Would you have tips for budget-friendly lighting ( for when the natural light isn't great ) thanks! xx
The French Mode It's amazing what a desk lamp can do! LED worklights are also great.
Lillian Simpson thank you so much! Between my videos and photos, the struggle is real ! I'll try to find some cheap desk lamps maybe clip ones! Thanks gain Lillian x
