  • www.landfishtv... - LandfishTV is all about LANDING the fish by land, kayak and boat
    In this video I head out land based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (Specifically the Warmies/hotties area) to chase the mighty ghosts of Melbourne (also known as Yarramundi, Mulloway and Jewies/jewfish).
    The 4” Paddle Tail Shad which caught this Mulloway can be purchased at jigglefishing..... It worked for me 😊
    Catching these beautiful fish doesn’t happen too often for me, in fact this is my first one in Melbourne and I spent a lot of time fishing the peak of the high tide and low tide, putting in a thousand casts to get it.
    Check out www.jigglefish...?aff=2 for a range of soft plastics jig heads, metal vibes, plastic vibes, fish grips and an ever-expanding range of other things on the website. Sales made through this link directly support me with funds to create further videos and you get a great product 😊.
    Fishing is a great hobby, so give it a try and most of all, HAVE FUN.

    Haha that's brilliant well done mate. I thought i had a mulloway at the warmies two Friday's ago until me and the bloke on the opposite bank realised we were hooked and trying to wind each other in. There was much yelling and torch waving 😂

    When I think of the Warmies I think of rats, slime and snags, but you caught a Mulloway and are a legend, albeit a bat crazy one in the middle of winter, much respect.

    Nice Fish - well done on your first one! Here in South Africa we call them Kob or Kabeljou and we get them up to 75kg (but rarely). It's the same fish but just different waters. Try a 1oz jighead and #5 paddletail for bigger fish. The scent is not important as these fish are ambush predators that feel the vibrations of the soft plastic. Bigger really is better for these fish and sometimes you need to fish slowly - bouncing off the bottom. Go slow feeling the bumps - especially in the surf zone. Just match your colour plastic to the day outside. Dark for dark days/night and white for bright light days. Now go get another...

      @@LandFishTV last week I tried from morning to dusk, from all docklands to the bolte to all the way to the mouth of the yarra, to in the maribrynong river then to the Westgate. Used both plastics, and fresh bait. Burley also, and nothing. Heaps of bait on sounder but no serious fish around. Spent so many days chasing the big ghosts, but there aren't as many as I thought there would be. Unless they were there but didn't want to play the game.

    i gotta applaud you on your humble dedication to landbased MELB fishing.
    ive spent the past 2years in a L.B
    snapper hunt. lol. getting closer.
    trial & error and hard yards.
    theres a reason why the same skillfull bastards are bagging out on reds every season off low key melbourne beaches and rocks.
    you should try patto dawn or dusk with SP for mulloways.

    • @LandFishTV
      @LandFishTV  5 років тому

      Thanks, sometimes putting in the time to chase a particular target pays off. 😀. P.s don't try to keep up with those blokes that regularly catch snapper (decent ones) from the local spots, they basically live at the piers and rock walls (waiting for fish to come). Haha.

    Hi, is it possible you could put up a map of your fishing (spots) adventures? I've always driven long ways to go fishing and dont know many of the spots you go, apart from Docklands. About to go to try Williamstown peer. I'm not confident using plastics, I always use some dead bait.
