- www.landfishtv... - LandfishTV is all about LANDING the fish by land, kayak and boat
In this video I head out land based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (Specifically the Warmies/hotties area) to chase the mighty ghosts of Melbourne (also known as Yarramundi, Mulloway and Jewies/jewfish).
The 4” Paddle Tail Shad which caught this Mulloway can be purchased at jigglefishing..... It worked for me 😊
Catching these beautiful fish doesn’t happen too often for me, in fact this is my first one in Melbourne and I spent a lot of time fishing the peak of the high tide and low tide, putting in a thousand casts to get it.

@Jared Ira it worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much you really help me out :D
Haha that's brilliant well done mate. I thought i had a mulloway at the warmies two Friday's ago until me and the bloke on the opposite bank realised we were hooked and trying to wind each other in. There was much yelling and torch waving 😂
colin hehehe, that happen to me too mate, I thought I got something big on, hehehe
Would have been funny if you were quiet and made him "fight" the big fish haha
When I think of the Warmies I think of rats, slime and snags, but you caught a Mulloway and are a legend, albeit a bat crazy one in the middle of winter, much respect.
Haha thanks man!
The smile says it all. Good on you, and on a soft plastic. I really enjoyed the part where you owned up to going out and getting donuts, hooray im not the only one im normal. 👍
Ahh that's fishing aye! Anyone who says they always catch fish are fibbing haha.
Gotta commend you for getting out there on a cold winters night. I know where I am.
Congratulations Lincoln on your first mulloway in Melbourne cheers.
Good on ya mate
Great work man couldn’t be more happy for you one ticked off the bucket list
Thanks Tony. It was awesome
Awesome mate!! How rewarding is it after you put in the hard yards and then finally it all comes together! Well done mate!
It's the best!
Greatly deserved catch!
Just got home and watched it.
👏Well done dude I bet you're stoked with that. Hard work pays off 💪
Thanks for teaching me how to be a wizz at the FG knot I’ve perfected it now💯
That's awesome dude :)
Legendary and great story.
Wow good on you mate 👍👏👏😃👋👋
Thank you 😁
Awesome fish to catch, thanks for the video.
Nice video Lincoln!
So Good!
Good on ya. I hope to catch one. One day
was literally just about to google landbased mulloway vic, and this was in my post notifications, awesome work man
Great timing! Thanks bud
Nice fish! Always fished in Sydney. Must give Melbourne a go by the looks of it.
Awesome vid mate. Inspiring! I wanna get out there right now!!!
very well done !!
Thanks mate.
Nice Fish - well done on your first one! Here in South Africa we call them Kob or Kabeljou and we get them up to 75kg (but rarely). It's the same fish but just different waters. Try a 1oz jighead and #5 paddletail for bigger fish. The scent is not important as these fish are ambush predators that feel the vibrations of the soft plastic. Bigger really is better for these fish and sometimes you need to fish slowly - bouncing off the bottom. Go slow feeling the bumps - especially in the surf zone. Just match your colour plastic to the day outside. Dark for dark days/night and white for bright light days. Now go get another...
Good work mate, gotta love a Melbourne Mulloway, now try get one at docklands, the real challenge! 😉
Some big ones in there.
@@LandFishTV yep
@@LandFishTV last week I tried from morning to dusk, from all docklands to the bolte to all the way to the mouth of the yarra, to in the maribrynong river then to the Westgate. Used both plastics, and fresh bait. Burley also, and nothing. Heaps of bait on sounder but no serious fish around. Spent so many days chasing the big ghosts, but there aren't as many as I thought there would be. Unless they were there but didn't want to play the game.
@@JamesFishingAdventures got sidescan?
@@LandFishTV it has extra wide sonar
Great work reward for putting in the effort and time
Thanks bud. I am addicted now.
Good on you bruv! I've spent a life time hunting these things and only just last week, cracked the magical 1 meter plus mark. Keep hunting as the more you go out the closer you get to unlocking your area 's fish and their movements 👍
awesome and congrats mate!thats a great catch!
Thanks man. Great fun.
Can’t believe you’re not wearing shorts. 👍🏻 Great stuff.
Hahahahaha it was super cold! Doesn't happen often for me. I live in those shorts!
Sweet as man.
onya bro! you totally deserve that fissh!
well done mate, well deserved
awesome work man, you're a legend.
Nice catch!! I heard about this spot and tried there once last year, no luck for me on green plastic. Instead it got caught on lots of stringy weed.
You have to put in the hards yards sometimes ;)
i gotta applaud you on your humble dedication to landbased MELB fishing.
ive spent the past 2years in a L.B
snapper hunt. lol. getting closer.
trial & error and hard yards.
theres a reason why the same skillfull bastards are bagging out on reds every season off low key melbourne beaches and rocks.
you should try patto dawn or dusk with SP for mulloways.
Thanks, sometimes putting in the time to chase a particular target pays off. 😀. P.s don't try to keep up with those blokes that regularly catch snapper (decent ones) from the local spots, they basically live at the piers and rock walls (waiting for fish to come). Haha.
Head to eden nsw to the navy wharf I’ve got lots of mackerel and flathead there
Shit hot linc, good jewie mate, i got one last year off the rock wall at werribee south, So good to get them on plastics too.
Ive heard of some good ones caught there
The Warmies is going to be packed this weekend lol
It's busy every time the smoke blows haha.
it will be a super video as always
Bro you get one I’m coming down
nice fish Lincoln congrats on your first Jewie. next time you go out chasing mulloway try big to medium sized softplastic vides (the samaki videlicious is my favourite)
Mate try the patto for a big one
Don't really go down that way, still plenty of big ones down this way that get caught. I will hopefully get one soon.
you should do another video in barwon heads and try get a mulloway
When I have time ;)
Ill be heading down there Sunday if conditions are good, hopefully land a few fish and make an epic vid.
Have you tried chasing them around herring island just near the bridge some big girls in there
Caught any there? I might have to have a crack
Good fish, see my 15.1 kg mulloway in the Yarra
Hi, is it possible you could put up a map of your fishing (spots) adventures? I've always driven long ways to go fishing and dont know many of the spots you go, apart from Docklands. About to go to try Williamstown peer. I'm not confident using plastics, I always use some dead bait.
Great effort Lincoln.
Do u remember how many nights u spent out there before you got one?
went with gotta love fishing what bait is good for bream
Soft plastics :P, I have previously used chicken with success.
@@LandFishTV thanks mate
@Addy Joe thanks
Which retrieve technique were you using when you hooked up. Ps congrats on the catch.
Twitch Twitch wind pause :)
Congratulations mate, persistence pays off!
Which of the 3 retrieves did the damage?

Hi mate I was just wondering what the peak times were for catching mulloway there
Awesome effort, thanks for sharing 👍 Have you tried the barwon river with that outfit?
Nah I haven't gone down there for ages.
Are you left handed or right handed? Just wondering.
big 30 cm jew
If size is everything...you have alot to learn in life.
How's this tosser? Like to see you do any better in Melbourne
