This is eye opening. Almost no one dies from prostate cancer but 30% of men get biopsies that frequently end up lowering quality of life. Prostate cancer is typically slow growing and most men end up dying from something else. I got the PSA and it was high. I am not going in for more testing.
Exactly... My friend was diagnosed with it due to a random PSA test he didn't even have any symptoms. Now he's got a hold his breath every 3 months for checkups and do all this stuff at the mercy of the medical system...once they get their hands on you, it's very hard to break free from their grasp.
@@schmingusss Here is the f what I am talking about. If we take the US male population over 40 which is 82,000,000 and take your figure of 40,000(it is actually about 35,200), the 40,000 represents 0.05% of the US male population. I stand by my statement that almost no one dies from prostate cancer.
@@robertjohnson4401 I just had a routine physical. Doc calls me the next day and says he's very concerned because my psa is almost 10. Tells me to re-do the test in a few weeks to rule out infection. Next test comes back at 14. Should I just ignore this ? I mean, by your reckoning, odds of me dying from prostate cancer are 0.05%
@@schmingusss No harm in having PSA tests. I had a 7.4 PSA when I was sick with a bacterial infection. After I recovered from the infection, my PSA was back to normal below 5. There are many causes of high PSA that are not caused by cancer. Enlarged prostate can cause a high PSA. Men over 75, doctors typically stop PSA tests because prostate cancer is usually slow growing and not worth the risk of surgery on someone of advanced age.
I had a problem passing water about 2 years ago and when I had the test my PSA was 12.4. That convinced me to change my lifestyle and a year later my PSA is down to 7.4. Now I am 100% vegan no medical procedures as a result of my PSA reading and I don't take any pills but I look forward to seeing what will be the PSA reading when I next get tested.
I watch lots of Dr Ken Berry's videos, I always had a funny feeling about it. Then I noticed he started getting contradicting by doctors he brought on. Then I researched and found that vegans have a lower rick of type 2 diabetes. Just had my labs, and found that my trys went down, ldl went up, and aic increased, and i was eating lots of butter and fat, no veg at all and very low carbs. So I'm liking what I hear from Dr. McDougall. I've found that most doctors in the USA love to send you to a specialist. I will try plant base, and portion size. Glad to hear that you are in great health.
Knowing the tract record of the Medical Industrial Complex, this is another way to rake in the big bucks? Try a holistic approach that has little to no side effects, I would think.
Thats true because people listen to that freak and quack, William Catalano of Chicago who mutilates men for money, and that old incompetent quack is 78! And of course he promotes the PSA.
A number of men know have been told they need this test and then got a---non-free---offer to have their prostate removed, with incontinence included at no extra charge! All of them are now doing okay or died from other causes.
My first psa test at age 61. Score of 11.5, both sides of prostate hard, biopsies (12) most Gleason scores were 7 but also one was a 9. STAGE 4 Prostate Cancer Diagnosis. High Risk Catagory. Hmmm. I wonder if I should have had a simple psa screening earlier in my life Dr. McDougall?
Look into fasting; bin the sugary foods, starch and fruit; take 125μg D3 and K2 morning and night; eat a good salad with olive oil, avocado, nuts, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese, then plenty of protein. I wish you a speedy recovery sir.
not monitoring the health of your prostate is like sticking your head in the sand... be proactive and change your diet if the result is higher than it should be. Take D3 125μg twice daily; K2; delete sugar and starch from the diet; and fast regularly.
Dr. McDougall, At 2:13 you said that the data is clear, treatment does not prolong your life. Could you please provide a link referenceing the data you speak of? Thank you, Kelly Mahoney
My psa is up and up to 14..biopsy came back positive..I have no symptoms...I'm 60 and I'm sure they gonna wanna do something...not really into it gonna monitor psa and see if it drops naturally first
Hmmmm. Why are there so many contradictory opinions? Why don't you tell us what actions - test wise -to take? I've resisted the biopsy but that climbing PSA does cause worry. Does this mean that the is ease will kill some of us, just no telling who and there is nothing to be done?

So what the heck do you suggest is the alternative to the PSA test???
He has other videos on why not to screen on his website and he has lots of videos on eating the optimal diet so you don’t develop disease
im not too sure, my dad has a very high psa. had he taken the test earlier before the cancer had metastesised it could have been operable..
