I missed Shalamar once again, this Summer 2023, in my hometown Manchester, England, its almost unforgiveable. The muscle woman here is good, but they're missing Jody, shes a far superior singer, with that lovely wailing girly voice and charismatic beauty, Its sacrilege to even sing this one song under the name of Shalamar without Jody.
Jody is definitely missing, her vocals were sharp, melodic and pleasant. I keep hearing her in this song. I don't think original artists should be replaced in a group.

But, 45 years later I still love this song and the beautiful girl who stole my heart, if only for a short time.

Howard always thought he made the group, but you ALL did!
You must be off your rocker talking about En Vogue's sound has been diminished. I have seen them with the addition Rhona Bennett and they sound the same. What makes En Vogue an exception is all the original members have similar vocal styles and can sing lead. That's why all of the original members sang lead on songs. Unlike other groups that had one lead singer, which caused them to break up for good after the departure of the lead singer. Besides, Howard Hewitt wasn't in the group when this song was released.
