I was absolutely stunned when Athena started taking the 2nd glove on that episode. I was SHOCKED! SHOCKED! that Alice skipped the next phase that she went from pair to prima. This was like peak Aria... the way Aika got her promotion was through a flashback and Akari was somewhat special too... but Alice's is the most impactful promotion of the series.
I agree that Alice was the most surprising one skipping ranks and being recognized for all of the work she put in to grow into herself. Akari was impactful for a different reason. It was as much a promotion as it was an end of a journey for Alicia as it was for Akari growing out of her childhood.
The last season wrecked me emotionally for a few days, man. I was crying for 6 hours straight. I thought ARIA reached perfection at episode 5 of the Natural, but they managed to continuously elevate my standards of perfection for 36 episodes and an OVA after that. This song still tears me up months after the fact. [You probably don't even remember this comment you made lol]

Everything is Artificial in this story in the best way possible. This is Mars after it’s Terraformed Gravity and heat added. And the best part this is a culture that mankind made that is peaceful and helpful and non violent. And they have 3D full color hologram communication and a Internet but they write letters and deliver them by hand because letters are more personal and you fully express yourself when your trying to write several pages. And the act of sending and waiting for a reply for days increases the significance.
I laughed when she took off both her gloves, because I predicted several minutes before in the episode before it was even 100% clear that was an exam ~ must be my 7th sense or something; anyway, best episode of the season indeed
I also predicted that Alice would get both of her gloves be taken off, they didn't call her a prodigy for nothing, but I didn't laughed when it happened cause my tears were already overflowing
It's already clear from the beginning, you don't have to guess about it. Even if I have predict about Alice will be graduate sooner than her seniors (Akari & Aika) from chapters before, that time I wasn't laugh at all because that will be mean it's time to bid some farewell....
確かこの曲ってアリス役の声優さんが歌が苦手でアテナさんみたく歌だけ別の人を希望していたらしいけど、
監督さんが「歌が苦手」ってのはアリスと同じだから本人が歌った方が絶対いいって
