@@robertdula4292 @Bob I respect the truth of that answer but in my opinion we can't really have a discussion about social justice in America without talking about how we have all come to believe that just because some corporation tells us something that we have to believe it.
@@earlyburg What does a private company not having the manpower to source new employees for their company have anything to do with social injustice? Absolutely nothing, c’mon man 😐
@@Christopher-nv2tu A lot actually. In my profession (web application developer) I have seen time and again how legal migrant tech workers are completely exploited - sometimes not even paid or asked to engage in criminal activity like money laundering, for the chance to work for an American company even for a few months. The problem that we are facing is that tech recruiters have created a class of workers with absolutely no civil rights. There is no transparency required for tech recruiters, and there is no job security for techs in an "at will" State (which is like all the states). Tech recruiting companies SELL PEOPLE. Most big firms use only one tech recruiting exclusively, which frankly is neither democratic or capitalist, because it limits job availablilty to people in a worse way than the closed door boys-only boardrooms of the 70's. Also - Tech recruiting firms are directly responsible for tech WAGES because they are always taking a percentage of what I earn. My contract may be being paid at 105K per year but I'm only getting 55K.
The issue with that is that tech recruiters dont have my talent - they just profit from it. Most tech recruiters are not technical, and they always are talking to us like we are retarded children, if they even speak my dialect at all. There is something wrong with this system if I want to apply for a job with a company and they will not even look at me unless I sell myself to another company filled with people who have never worked overtime pushing a project to completion. I have witness the wages of this highly skilled profession fall lower and lower in the last 10 years. Tech recruiters promote OUTSOURCING which puts a lot of talented people out of a job just so the company you work for does not have to pay healthcare taxes for an American worker.
