I think this was pre-buffed zhongli and geo resonance, he was really underwhelming during his initial release. our chinese brother's rioted and paved the way for the buff.

The "Zhongli is trash" part was referring to the Zhongli's bumpy release.
Geo at that time was considered a terrible element, and Zhongli had really poor energy regeneration, which in turn affected his support capabilities.
Basically, he needed supports to support other characters, which doesn't make sense.
This caused quite an uproar, which resulted in his kit getting a touch up, and the Geo Resonance getting a substantial buff.
Ah, 1.1... So many good memories :')
Ah those old times, i remember failed to get zhongli at 1.1, but luckily got him at the re-run in 1.5 😝
Zhongli pre buff was already OP, just because he doesn't deal big daddy damage all the players raged lol. Especially the CN community since this is their representative God, and they say somehow he is weak. After that every character released was broken af and lost the skill cap. The only problem I had with him was removing the physical resistance decrease and his energy gains that really non existent. But I can't deny the new Zhongli still fucking slaps tho.

Rawfler's EXEs are my (and, I think, community's) favourite. The quality of his videos is the best so far.
the fact that this .exe came out before the 1.3 "buffs" lmao so nostalgic. the thing is i love zhongli too but he really was underpowered when he was released back 1.1 update. the reason i said "buffs" is because I actually see it more as a deserving fix for him and now he's not only a husbando but an absolute meta also

I'd recommend watching the C6 Noelle.exe from him. It's easily one of the best ones imo. But I'm slightly biased because I'm a Noelle main 😂

Btw maybe you don't know zhongli and geo got buff in the next version after released because of his skill got changed and people complain about how weak the geo and his skill is, that's references for newpaper at the start of vid.

LMAO now here's a reaction vid I never knew I needed. This video came out around when Zhongli first released, and at the time there was a lot of drama because his kit was subpar in comparison to other characters at the time. His support capabilities weren't that great, but the CN fandom raised absolute hell and were able to push MHY into giving him a buff. The buff came around Jan or Feb, somewhere around there, and ever since then his character has become an indispensable and invaluable part of almost every player's team.
All I can say is, thank goodness for the CN fandom.
5:44 that is actually from a past events where you actually do food delivery. The thing is, there are a lot if restrictions. You cannot get wet, no running, no gliding and such.
A LOT OF PEOPLE HATED that event, for me I kinda enjoyed it since...I actually got wet in the delivery and got food thrown at my face. Let that be a lesson to treat food delivery person with respect.

that food delivery quest was kinda fun, but very, VERY tilting at the same time, I still remember how everyone universally decided zhong li would drop a meteor on their face upon arrival
you had to climb gigantic mountains and traverse lakes while not being able to sprint, or glide, or touch strange elements, it was as much of a pain as you think this sounds like, x100
When Zhongli came out people wanted to make him a physical dps, even though he's a shielder character who's abilities are based on HP. So he did 'bad' damage with his physical normal attacks.

The Zhongli drama might be the first drama of Genshin.
His buff/rerun was a rocket boost. As tectone (genshin content creator) said, when he uses his E (elemental skill), he could beat every single character in the game. Well, not surprising as an archon himself and the god who won during the archon war, definitely fits the statement ‘oldest and strongest archon’.
That's make sense since Zhongli is representing Liyue which inspired from China. So making Zhongli is weak, while their company in China is not a good idea

Before, ANY GEO SHIELD is weaker than Diona [at that time's abyss] and only effective against Geo DMG, Split scaling in Zhongli's kit that needed HP and ATK but does not excels at any of it, Gacha energy generation,
the only thing he's good at was just Shield that's less powerful than Diona, consistent Crystal Shield generator [which not many players used], and hard crowd control..
If you have a free time I highly recommend listening to Genshin concert especially zhongli theme song

the fuck is that zongli mine zongli hits 3-4k per-auto at lvl 8 world
For context, this video was made during v1.1, when everyone anticipating too highly of ZhongLi as main DPS, when MiHoyo stated he is meant to be support, just like Venti and Raiden. But everyone raged and China players even went and posted their invoices to convince MiHoyo to adjust ZhongLi. And so this is the only time MiHoyo really acknowledged and fixed ZhongLi, effective from v1.3 (since then his E will create pillar and shield simultaneously, and the shield will last 30s and CD is 12s, so infinite shields)

If you're confused, early day Zhongli is trashed by community because under performance, he and generally all geo characters receive a buff in latter version and honestly become one of the most reliable shield support current game had
