    AMBIENT AUDIO ENJOYERS: In the video toolbar/controls, click the gear, click "Audio Track", and select "English (United States)". You should get the ambient-only audio with no commentary. To go back to commentary, choose "English (original)". Experimental idea... Let us know how it works! - Das

    Scheuerle Fahrzeugfabrik, now known as TII SCHEUERLE, developed the Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) in 1983. The SPMT is a heavy-transport technology that has become a global standard.
    The SPMT's technical basis includes:
    Hydraulically supported oscillating axle: Invented by Willy Scheuerle in 1956
    Electronic multidirectional steering: Invented by Willy Scheuerle in 1972
    The SPMT's modular design allows it to be combined into different transport units of any size. Each module can be configured with 3, 4, 5, or 6 axle lines, and can have its own drive and control system. The SPMT's load capacity depends on the version, but can reach up to 60 tons per axle line.
    The SPMT is used to transport a variety of goods, including luxury yachts, industrial plants, mining vehicle components, offshore wind turbines, hotels, and cultural assets.
    In 2022, Mammoet and Scheuerle developed and employed the world's first electric SPMT.

    I would guess that the chopsticks were originally designed for the stresses of a proper catch with some margin. But now they are super-reinforcing them because they've realized that the first few catches could be brutal. They've got a huge amount of time, effort, and money invested in that particular stage 0 that isn't worth losing just to try and catch one stage 1.

    If NSF put up a radio station I’d be all in. Would be happy to help build a tower, set up the transmitter, and deal with all that fun FCC stuff given that’s my specialty, however towers are incredibly expensive and FM radio is slowly dying so it probably wouldn’t be a great investment nowadays. Pretty sad to see the slow demise of traditional radio. Also side note, those outlets in the manlifts almost NEVER work. Seems to be a very common occurrence unless the lift is brand new. Best to run an extension cable.

    Anybody knows who's ever used the lifts There's some basic connections usually electrical on all of them. And if you're doing specialized work, you'll have hydraulic hoses.Air hoses high voltage.Low voltage Water lines fluid lines signal wires.Communication lines pretty much anything you can imagine
    If you're doing specialized work where you need a variety of items it's a lot better to have it attached to the lifting mechanism, then try to support the weight of those lines hanging down from the basket.
    We once tried to extend a piece of polytubing up a boom lift from a keg, but we could never get enough pressure. All it was was drippy foam when I hit the top. We couldn't even get it to effectively Feed the fourth floor at the third floor was barely trickling out

    • @NASASpaceflight
      @NASASpaceflight  11 днів тому +4

      Appreciate the insight! A lot of.people don't realize that the mass of a dangling hose doesn't magically levitate, its got to support it's own weight. See: riser cables. Same with pumping a fluid up multiple stories of height... you've got to support the mass of all the fluid in the hose. Cheers!

    I find it hard to believe those things are cushioning pads.
    You could make the case the I beams (the one with the dampeners / shock absorbers) has sharp edges, so you need those pads.
    But then not the whole length of the beams if we consider the precision of the booster steering during landing.
    New chop sticks are therefore shorter.
