I use it on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 perfectly. It works fine.

I was able to sync 2 android phones. Firstly have the switches in visible, then set up one switch on the second android phone while on the same ssid network. This will then re-set up on the the original android device and all visible neo switches on the new Android device. Just performed it with a Galaxy 8 (original device) and Galaxy J (new android device)

Thanks for the review. Just curious if you would happen to know how this compares in size to a Wemo?

The reason why it won't sync on Android is that your phone may be working on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands of Wifi. This is how it is by default setup on your phone. If you can some how set your cell phone to work on 2.4Ghz, all of this works instantaneously. I had the same problem but I made sure the phone worked on 2.4Ghz band and voila.. i can see all of the devices on the network.

How did you manage to use the timer? Doesn't seem to work for me...Only manual on-off...Thanks in advance

Could be your port forwarding is locked into the iPhone's local IP. Power off your iPhone to release the ip/port at the router. Power cycle the router to free the lease on the said node/port. Lastly start the WiFi pairing cycle from the very beginning (fast blink) to insure your router configures port forwarding correctly to the android's ip. I have NO IDEA if this will fix your problem or not, but I am very familiar with network topology, public and private, so the odds are your favor to at least try this. Good luck! -n

can you use it on 3G/4G outside your wifi range?

I'm not sure. I would hope so. Because it never worked for my Android phone, I stopped trying to use it.

Reviews By Tiger wouldn't it help if you did the setup and connected to the same Wi-FI router that the Ankoo is connected to instead of trying to do with while you are on the phone's 4G? That way all the devices are on the same network.

How many devices can you connect to it like phones and tablets?

I think you are supposed to be able to see it from multiple devices. However, I had an issue with my Android and was only able to make it visible from my iPhone. The configuration step that causes you to re-sync it makes it appear as though it will only work with one device because you re-sync it every time you add the device. But I have read some reports by others that once they added it with one device, they were able to see it from another. But like I said, I didn't personally get that to work. But others with a Samsung Note 3 reported that it worked for them.

    It works through doors?

It should. But honestly, I've since bought a whole bunch of the TP-Link Alexa-enabled smart switches, at least 2 per room, some under heavy dressers, so we can control al our lighting by voice, and some TP-Link smart bulbs even for my oustide lighting, and all of them connect to our wireless router with no problem. So I'd assume this one is no different.

You have to delete your app from iphone in order to use it on Note 3 because you installed an app on iphone first. Thats why it did not work. You cannot use this product on multiple phones.

I actually did try to configure it first on my Note 3 (my phone) before I eventually gave up tried the iPhone (my wife's phone). But I showed it in a different order in the video to show the positives first.
Are you sure you cannot use it on multiple phones? That seems fairly limiting in a household that likely has multiple devices -- phones for each person and possibly tablets around. It would seem you would want anyone to be able to control. For example, you come home late at night and want to turn on lights before you enter, but it is controlled by someone else's phone.

No, I gave up on it (for my Note 3). I was hoping that one day the app would have an update that might enable it to work, but I think your input shows that it still doesn't work (at least for some of us).

That's interesting. So did it just magically appear on your Note 3 once it was on the same network or did you still have to do any kind of configuring on your Note 3? I configured it on our iPhone, but the Note 3 still didn't recognize anything, and attempting any configuring goes into the endless blinking mode.

its a LEAD light we see right here.... really?
Lead is a chemical element in the carbon group with symbol Pb and atomic number 82. Lead is a soft, malleable and heavy post-transition metal
LED ( pronounced as the acronym L. E. D. ) stands for light emitting diode.
If your trying to make reviewing stuff a thing, then please learn some standard terminology.
Otherwise, nice clear video and not too bad for shooting with one hand and working with the other.

    • @reviewsbytiger
      @reviewsbytiger  7 років тому

No. In fact, I just bought a bunch of the TP-Link wireless outlets from Amazon that do work great with Alexa. I now turn on/off lights in most rooms with them.
