They might not teach dating or finding a partner. But one thing public schools are very good at is instilling confidence and the importance of speaking properly.

@@smoker6683 I agree. I joined a private school for my a-levels. There were certainly cliques but I accepted that as they have been friends in the many years prior. I wasn't bullied (we were older and more mature by a level), but I also didn't become close to anyone of my classmates. Until today, many years after graduation, I don't have contact with a single one of my a level classmates, while I still keep in touch with many of my state school classmates, some of whom I call friends.

I was extremely shy when I was younger and didn't find my first boyfriend and father of my children until I was 28.
I was at school with Will - always a lovely guy. Bumped into Fran and Will last Christmas when I was back seeing family - such a great couple. Congrats guys! :-)

These two are some of the most English people I have ever seen anywhere. And I lived in London for a year! The shyness, the awkwardness, the long stretches of silence, belonging to cold, stiff-upper-lip families, the love of the countryside, the love of browns and tweeds and more sensible browns. I bet she gardens and loves it. And I bet he would love her for her love of gardening. These are also the type of people who own sturdy wellies and never take an umbrella anywhere despite the fact that it rains in England all the damn time. LOL.

I didn't even notice the posh accents. Just saw innocence, genuineness, and humility. Neither had too many expectations and seemed like good old-fashioned romantics. Something tells me they will be together for a very long time.
