The USA needs to stop upholding just blue and red. I never understood this about American media. During election time they categorize people based on gender and race as if those groups are monoliths and not individual, unique human beings. In Canada the media doesn't talk about gender or race groups during elections; the coverage tends to categorize people on urban/suburban/rural or as traditional Conservative/Liberal/NDP voters.

Breaking tradition can weigh heavy on the mind, sometimes to the point of guilt that will plague a person for years. Growing up in a household that voted Democrat for generations, that became family history, gave one solidarity among like-minded people.
But, what if your conscience says voting Democrat this year is wrong? Breaking tradition is not betraying anyone, it is your own conscience you have to live with, it is your own prerogative to vote your conscience. You only have your self to believe in that breaking tradition and voting for the candidate you believe will make the greatest impact on your life, your family and your country. Do what in your heart you think is right and you can rest assured you will not be betraying anybody but your own conscience for not following your heart.
