13:32 It's worth noting that Pyra transforms into Mythra because Rex DIDNT run, attacks Torna weak and alone, and would have died if Mythra didn't intervene. Love Rex to death but this touches his main flaw, that he never backs down to try and protect his friends, even when he knows he has no chance. He finally lets go of this when he (very begrudgingly, after much intervention from the party) lets Pneuma sacrifice herself
I hope they can put Xenoblade Chronicles X on the switch. Just because I want to play it.
"We're good."
*Zeke hit the ground too hard.*
I played these games like 3 times each and I still watched this
Just one thing to point out, rex is very aware of Nia's confession, but he basically tried to let her down easy, you find this out in a post battle Convo where rec tried to address it, and in the visions Klaus gives him of what rex fears most from his friends
I think he just gave a naive answer at the time and only realized what she was saying later, hence the post battle convo
Everything you need to know in one sentence: that’s Dunban over there!
I'm stopping for now at 16:34 because I need to play the Torna DLC. I finished up a replay of XC via the DE, and I did the FC DLC for the first time. I won't have time to replay XC2 so I wanted to find a good video to recap the story. There are so many videos out there trying to ham it up and frankly they inject a ton of fluff. I am so glad I found your video. It has helped rekindle my memories from the story years ago. However if this is where the Torna DLC comes in and helps indicate Jin's past, I'll play that, then come back to this video for the remaining some minutes.
Nonetheless, thank you for putting this together. I appreciate it very much.
You’re in for a treat! Torna is really good and makes the amazing Xenoblade 2 story even better! It greatly develops Jin, Mythra, Malos and Mikhail.
Hope you enjoy it!
Great video! I just finished Xenoblade Chronicles 1, and I definitely don't have time to play 2 before 3 comes out. This video helped me understand a LOT! Very well put together and explained. Thanks man! Have an awesome day and God bless!
im the opposite, i beat 2 but didn't have the $ for 1 and now 3 is around the corner, so here i am
and im watching the 2 summary for a re-cap
this actually helped a lot because i stopped in the middle of xenoblade 1 because i got stuck but at the time i finished xenoblade 2 and torna and went back to xenoblade 1 just a few days ago and this video helped me recap the story to the part i finished off at so now im not confused after such a long time
The recap I was asking for and needed it while replaying the series on New Game +
The lore on this series is mind blowing. I am left so curious as to how they will wrap everything up in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, especially considering the conduit seemingly does not exist in this new shared world and has gone to an undisclosed universe.
Nice video!
Couple of issues:
1) Tyrea and Melia are NOT half sisters. They're stepsisters. They are NOT related by blood at all. Both acknowledged this in their Quiet Moments in Future Connected.
2) Tyrea is not a full-blooded high entia. She is mixed with homs, or possibly more accurately, Tyrea's father is mixed high entia and homs, I think. However, the difference between Melia and Tyrea is that Melia is about 50% homs, and Tyrea is about 25% homs.
I knew I should have re-watched the Quiet Moments! Thanks for your feedback ❤-Flynn
@@GamingTrendVideos Tyrea literally took off in her future connected quiet moment & flew, it scared me, I didn't know high entia could just fly with their giant head wings
@ʙ ᴇ ꜱ ᴛ ᴇ ꜱ ᴛ, yes. I know about how the emperors are to have, or are allowed to have, 2 wives. One has to be high entia, and the other has to be homs, as you stated, to rid of the telethia debacle.
But gosh, I missed the part about some computer mentioning that Tyrea has 80% high entia blood.
Zanza kept shulk alive for 10 years. In xc3 they live for 10 years too. Weird
Actually it was 14 years. Dickson said it himself when they were in Satorl Marsh.
This was wonderful!
cool vid but he keeps mispronouncing rain and duncan

Thank you for this video. I didn’t know/understand that alrest is current earth and the mechonis/bionis is an alternate dimension I must of missed that part of it lolz
Fantastic video ! Just a shame that you didn't cover Xenogears and Saga since Ouroborous are in XC3 but that makes sense.
Saga/gears are not related to chronicles lol. Just subtle nods to the games
12:20 Thank you for putting in Mor Ardain theme.
Decent video. Missed alot about parallel universes and merging ect. But all around good for a 23 min video
12:34 one of the coolest tiny details in xc2 is when zeke and pandy are a stranger to you her glasses are fogged up, symbolizing her distant attitude when you first meet and even team up. but once you earn their trust (basically have a few heart to hearts including zeke, and fill her trust board) her glasses clear up and you can see her eye's for the first time signifying her accepting you and opening up.
with all it's quirks and faults. you cannot say that xc2 wasn't made with passion. it most definitely was. and details like this prove it.
I thought her glasses cleared up after the flashback in Elpis? Regardless, it's one of my favorite details of the game :D -Flynn
@@GamingTrendVideos nah, once you fill her trust board up 80% they clear up. and i think it requires at least 1 specific heart to heart with zeke. i guess it would coincide with the moment your talking about in a lot of runs if your using zeke in your active party.
There is nothing more painful than the whole “ Rex I love you “ and Rex’s response is I love all you guys 😩 made me want to die from second hand embarrassment
I legit dropped the game for a week after watching that cutscene and was no longer in imidiat danger. I was already annoyed at Rex constant "power of friendship" battle quotes, but this drove me over the edge. I still 100% the game, but I wasn't enjoying it (unless the game didn't remind that Rex exists).

@@Implosion-Gaming I mean it's a childish response from a childish person. He's young. That's why I understand why he said it even though it makes me extremely pissed that he did.
I mean, she's risked her life for him and then poured her heart to him at a most valuable moment revealing all that she is to him and that's all he has to say. Ofc I think it was dumb thing for him to say but it's hard to fault the guy considering his age and what he just went through in the story up until that point.
Also I was under the impression that we don't know whether or not Pyra and Mythra retain their memories? I know the lip animation is different between the english and japanese localizations, but that doesn't help much because no one can seem to nail down what they really say.
20:00 There’s some unused post battle dialogue that counters this argument.
23:00 Hopefully (I’m not aware of confirmation for that)
23:05
My head-cannon is Nia's face is a "god damn it their back" shocked because now her chances with Rex go down because he has 2 Anime waifu's who both love him
Amazing
Overall this is a good video that does a decent recap of the plot of the games :)
Though after finishing the video I wished you guys went into more detail like for example with the Xenoblade 1's cast, like with melia loosing family members and her and her half sister's relationship that later leads into future connected or more on Jin and Lora, why amalthus is the reason he is a corrupted church leader, why rex has two blades, or the reason pyra came to be in the end of torna, just some big important things imo felt left out is the only criticism I can give
Thats the thing. Tyrea and Melia are NOT half sisters. They're more like "stepsisters". They are NOT related by blood at all.
Tbf, this video is a recap for people who want to play xc3, not an in-detail recap of the whole series. Those things most likely don't really matter, at least I can't imagine why we would need to know the relationship between Jin and Lora or Melia and Tyrea, why Pyra exists, Amalthus' backstory etc. since those things most likely won't even be mentioned in xc3.
@@landerdepoorter2824, I see your point. But who's to say what backstories will or will not connect from Xenoblade 1 and 2, with 3, or even X?
@@stripedrajang3571 well, no one knows for sure until the game comes out, but the developers already made a statement that you can play xc3 without having played any of the previous games, so I doubt those smaller things matter (don't get me wrong, in their respective games they matter but if we look at it as as a series they are just very small things). Furthermore, Jin and Lora are dead, Amalthus is dead and I just have this feeling that Pyra and Mythra either won't be present or it won't matter how they came to existence anyway. The Melia Tyrea backstory I have to admit may have some importance since Melia will appear.
Thanks for this. I understand the lore now! I'm still confused.
And me? I am still waiting for XC-X2 as that massive cliffhanger has to be solved. You hear me, Monolith?
23:00 I thought that wasn’t clear? Although you chose the good ending. So I’m fine with your version :D
Rex is a true Chad
we need the next xenoblade chronicles game to be X 2
I've noticed an overarching theme in Xenoblade: religion used as a force for violence and hate. Shulk rebuffs becoming a god. Amalthus is Amalthus. It's interesting
The same thing happened in Xenogears with the main villain seeking to ascend past the suffering of humanity and become God, basically Zanza's main goal.
Also Jesus Christ is a character referenced in Xenosaga. Pyra/Mythra's core crystal is the same design as the Zohar from Xenosaga, which in turn is a reference to the crucifix Jesus was killed on.
More a perversion of religion used that way. Really I always interpreted it as anti-authoritarian, secular or religious.
We should all be able to make a choice, we all have free will, free will enables good and tremendous evil but it’s what makes us human.
That position is compatible with some religions like Catholicism and not with ones like Calvinism which reject free will.
@@masterofblabber367 maybe, but Shulk creating a world with no need for gods makes it much more overtly anti-religious. The Ardainian Empire and The High Entia are both secular authoritarian states, and both are essentially portrayed positively. Also, the Catholic Church is a bad example, since it is very authoritarian...
Tyrea is neither pure-blooded nor is she Melia's half-sister. She's her half-blooded _stepsister._
And last I checked, there were no mermaid Blades. Yes, Sheba rides around in a bathtub, but she has legs.
And replace "Lora's abusive father" with "Lora's mother's abusive boyfriend". It's made clear they are not related.
And finally, it was left intentionally ambiguous whether or not Pyra and Mythra's memories are intact or not.
i never did get around to playing XC1.... *sighs* i'll get to it at some point in the future....but for now i want to get the most out of XC3
Come on, man! I believe in you! You can make me finally understand this clusterfuck of words and lore that is xenoblade chronicles...
Eh it's not that bad. Xeno 1 is alternate dimension. Xeno 2 is what was left of earth. The conduit gets it energy from the infinite multiverse. Klaus was a dick, probably knew this, and did it anyway.
@@7Wolf77 not that bad?! I bet you also understand quantum phsyics too, eh? ...show off...
How did I not notice till now that Alvis was the third Aegis ...
Technically it was a retcon, his core crystal only appears in the Definitive Edition. In the original, he's wearing a key necklace.
Why do the Mechonis and the Bionis have to keep on fighting?

Am I allowed to jump straight into 3 after watching this vid or should I still play both games?
Yep, you should be good to go! Though I would still recommend playing the other games in the series because they're just that good. -Flynn
Honestly you don't even really need this video to understand it lol, the storylines are very separate except for some convoluted worldbuilding with Klaus and the alternate dimensions
i dont know why people hate on XC2 so much....it was the first of the 2 games i beat, so im a tad bias, but i loved it
also RNG doesn't bother me, since it was actually kind of fun all things considered
i want to go back and truly experience XC1 definitive at some point, but im glad i can be one of the rare people (it seems) who enjoy XC2.....HYPED for XC3
YOOOO
I forgot Nia goes "I love you Rex"
and Rex is just like "I love you too, I love all my friends" like the lovable dense idiot he is
I also love XC2 but it is a very flawed game, The story is pretty uninteresting until the halfway point, there's a couple interesting bits before then but overall uninteresting, it has some reeaaalllly obnoxious characters namely Rex and Torra, and the annoying over-the-top anime quirks it has get really grating. Still love the game but it is completely understandable to me why some people can't stand it.
@@leahbeah1585 i honestly dont mind any of the stuff you mentioned...Rex isn't annoying, Tora....I'll give you him the "over the top anime quirk" ....doesn't really exist, people over exaggerate that a LOT but i respect people why people dont like it....dont agree with it, but that's just me, im weird
I liked 2 quite a lot honestly. I’m like the story and the characters but the combat system is my least favorite in all of the xenoblade games ive played so far. The combat for me isn’t really enjoyable like it is in 3.
@@alakazamlover4908 For me the main group characters are the best in the series so far. They all feel really unique and are genuinely interesting characters. The loveable idiot trope is probably the reason I like Lanz so much. He might be an absolute idiot but he still is able to understand people like what happened in chapter 6 with Joran.
X has no consequence on the main storyline, it’s more like an alternate dimension.
If they ever do dlc or a second game they have a lot to explain, for example what happens to the ghost ships (purple ones from the opening) what is the vita? Why is there a single telethia? What happens to Lao and the second pilot of the original ares skell? They have so many directions to go with
There’s a lot of assumption that people know who these characters and “things” are… lol. Here’s how it flows “name
Name and name kill the even weirder thing name, but it was actually the thing you don’t understand.” A dramatization of the story would be much more helpful…. Even if it doesn’t cover every lore detail…
1, 2, and X all in 100 hours? Not if you're trying to enjoy them.
I've played these games more than once and I still have no fucking idea what the hell the overarcing story is about and how these games are connected exactly, even after watching this. I love the games though, they're a blast, just never really got the connectedness of the different games.
I gotta be honest I don't know all the tiny details either especially when it comes to lore and certain terminology but this is what I walked away with from my memory of playing 2 years ago before I proceed to watch the video. The games aren't really connected until you learn about what happens in Chapter 10 of Xenoblade 2. So my main gist is that Klaus the scientist fucked around with some shit and accidentally created two separate universes with the big conduit thingy. The two games are set in that the events are happening at the same time. The Architect is stuck with half of his body in one universe and the other half in the other. He's lived this way for a long time and only seems to want to be put out this existence.
Some shit happens in both games but what I really got from it was that the main cast of characters had to clean up the mess that the Architect had started in each game. There is a lot more nuance to that but that's the main gist that I got.
you sound exactly like ray chase
I am pretty sure no one calls The Conduit a Zohar though.
I mean in xeno*blade* it’s the conduit, but within xeno*series* it’s the Zohar
canon wise, yeah it hasn't been named Zohar and likely won't because of fear of copyrights. However, in the game code, it has been datamined that the model is called Zohar.
I think Pyra and Mythra did lose their memories, and i'm pretty sure Nile was Moraq's brother not cousin.
Hey bro I have a question is xenoblade chronicles x is connected is connected to xenoblade chronicles 1 and 2 because xenoblade chronicles x it’s so confusing even in the ending is confusing😇🤔
Who knows! Elma shows up as a Blade in 2's land of challenge, though that's probably not cannon.
In Xenoblade X you find a Telethia that is said to have come from a far away place and there is a mysterious force at work in the planet the survivors from Earth(main characters) arrived in that is causing several anomalies.
They also mention that the humans are descendants of a race known as Samaarians who engineered several races to serve them(similar to Telethia/Blades in Xeno 1/2).
As of now there is no direct connection but there is room to connect Xenoblade X to the other games if they choose to do so. In Future Connected there was a rift where the Telethia were attacking(maybe the one in X got in?) and the Conduit in 2 was shown to have disappeared elsewhere. The origins of the Samaarians/Mira could also be a possible connection.
The conduit gets its energy from the infinity multiverse. 1 and 2 and totally connected, as Klaus is in both. But x is like... That universe over there we are not really gonna talk about.
It feels as if this goes deep into some things that hardy matter and glances over or hardly mentions/explains the important stuff
That's good, because I want to play 3 asap now and go back and play the others after. I'm glad he didn't show every little thing. I feel like I've been spoiled without having been spoiled. I've already beaten 1 and I'm on chapter 5 now on 2 so not TOO much has been spoiled and I still have the knowledge I need to play 3 if I'm not finished with two in time.
I've seen LPs that say when Pyra and Mythra awake they say Hello I'm Pyra or Mythra depending on who you chose so very likely they lost all there memories. You can tell from Rex's disappointed look he has.
He got nothing on goku though
Lol, creates a world with no gods but is totally OK with feudalism.
Some of you people need to learn how to harness the power of the background music, or just not use background music at all. I cant fucking hear yall
Skipped a lot
To be honest I am not the biggest fan of the whole "Oh yeah by the way this used to be earth / Is a parrallel dimension to earth" kinda thing. You wanna make a fantasy universe make it that. This whole thing of the scientists creating parrallel universes makes the lore unnecessary convoluted for no reason. The entire plot works without that knowledge. It feels like a cheap excuse to have the games connected where I would have vastly prefered the FF or Tales aproach of just making them completely seperate from each other except maybe the reuse and recontextualization of some races and monsters.
I didn´t finish XBC 3 yet so please no spoilers in how that game fits in but I have my theories.
Tales of games actually take place in the same world, just long stretches of time apart from each other. I get what you mean though, that kind of twist has been done a lot but I do really enjoy it in Xenoblade. -Flynn
