That was a good day fishing - never seen those tigers before - you know the King Kong Gorilla tape would tear up that T-Rex stuff LOL - catch you next time👊🎣👍
Gorilla tape is definitely better now that I have used them both but the price was right for the T-rex at that moment! I've only caught a few of these tiger trout but I like them. Aggressive and hard fighting.
Right on. I have tons of stuff on my playlists for that area. You might have to make some tough choices on where to go given the amount of time you have to explore! Good luck on your trip.
Those were just some old, inexpensive waterproof hiking boots that I use as back-ups. The soles grip the rocks good and that's all I care about. I can't slip!
Nice surprise catching that tiger trout. Your right about using barbless on your jig. I see alot of guys who catch & release using jigs with the barb and it tears up their mouth. Gorilla glue and a vice the net will be good as new 👍
I use a 5' ultralight ugly Stik. The reel is a cheap $20 Shimano spinning reel they sell at Walmart. Caught a lot of nice fish on that cheap reel. Drag is dependable and that's all I care about.
Good stretch of river. California don't stock tigers. Those guys are NDOW fish stocked in Topaz that like to go upstream. Fished the WW last week and got a couple of 18 inch fish, but I was way upstream.
Right on. That makes sense. That's quite a journey up that far. It's too hot for me to fish there right now. I like fishing that river when it's cold out. As long as there isn't a bunch of ice on it!
Another comment stated that Nevada stocks them in Topaz and they make their way upstream which makes sense. Flow has been big the last couple of years so that probably helps.
I grew up in San Mateo and moved to SoCal when I graduated from high school. That party went on in the Mission/Pacific Beach area for two and a half decades!
I have put over 65K miles on my car the last couple of years driving to make content. I think the hours of driving wears me down more than the hiking, snow shoeing, and climbing around rivers!
Oh, I better change the nature of my content for you. No, this is pretty much what my channel is. If you don't like this video you definitely won't like the hundreds of videos across my channel playlists. Save yourself the pain of watching. I like to talk to my viewers like they are there with me so it is what it is.

always great content. I have started fishing the truckee in downtown Reno when i go visit my grandparents. Keep doing what you do
Cool. You get some good fishing and they get more visits. It's a win, win!
Been absolutely diggin your content before heading up to bishop creek lodge to do some alpine lake fishing keep on keeping on 🤙🏾
Right on. I have tons of stuff on my playlists for that area. You might have to make some tough choices on where to go given the amount of time you have to explore! Good luck on your trip.
Tiger trout has an awesome pattern. They are also in Spooner Lake up 50 towards S. Tahoe. I haven't caught one that size, though.
Right on. Yeah, I really dig that pattern on them. Aggressive and hard fighting. Two of my favorite traits in a fish!
A joy to see you bring the wonders of fishing to people.
Also, what type of boot do you use.
They look sturdy.

There’s tiger trout in the west Walker???? 🤔 Had no idea. Good to know. That’s awesome.
Yeah, I'm into it. Other commenters suggested they swim up from Topaz. I guess Nevada stocks them in there.
When did Tiger trout get introduced to the Walker?
I heard through comments that Nevada stocks them in Topaz and they make their way upstream. I can't confirm that but it makes sense.
Pretty cool….I have never heard of a Tiger Trout.
Right on. I had heard of them but I have only caught a few. I got one last year and had no idea what it was.
Fun Fact Tiger Trout Can Not Breed.
@wildernesswithamani1027 I have been slaying some big largemouth in the PGA West Golf course lakes🐟
those Tigers are cool looking. I caught them in Panguitch lake in UT.
Yeah, I dig the way they look and fight.
There in Hobart also check it out
That's what I read.
Really cool!
Right on.
Walker is a solid choice
I love to fish it when it's cold out. I have way more energy and motivation to climb around on the rocky banks.
Awesome! I caught some big tigers on a fly rod in Utah last month, they are some fighters. Are you using Marabou Jigs?Another fantastic video!
Yes, I'm using 1/8oz barbless marabou jigs. You are the second or third person to comment on catching those in Utah. Sounds fun.
@@wildernesswithamani1027 thank you. In Utah, I also caught a 12” Splake, fought like a 10lber on that fly rod.
Safe travels on your adventures.

I'm going to get the glue tomorrow and we'll see how it goes.
Damn fine fishing my man!
Right on! I try to make the best of it.
Hi Amani,
What rod and reel are you using? Is that a Plfuger ? I heard you say 5’ on the rod…. But can I get details?
Just curious.
Thnx 😊

Interesting. I don’t think California raises or plants tigers.
They seem to be in the West Walker. Got 2 last time and then this one. This was the biggest so far. I got one last year but I wasn't sure what it was.
Another comment stated that Nevada stocks them in Topaz and they make their way upstream which makes sense. Flow has been big the last couple of years so that probably helps.
@@wildernesswithamani1027 that makes sense
Amani, you are correct a Brook Trout is a Char, and a Tiger Trout is a cross of a female Brown trout with a male Brook Trout.
Yeah, viewers tipped me off to that when I got a couple fishing for my Patreon. They are cool looking fish.
What city did you live in? Northern or southern Ca?
I grew up in San Mateo and moved to SoCal when I graduated from high school. That party went on in the Mission/Pacific Beach area for two and a half decades!
You sure put quite a few miles under your wheels and feet to get to your spots!
I have put over 65K miles on my car the last couple of years driving to make content. I think the hours of driving wears me down more than the hiking, snow shoeing, and climbing around rivers!
Try using some tight Bond waterproof glue on that net.
That seems to be sound advice.
Did you see many snakes around? Years ago they were all over.
I didn't see any. I was looking.
You talk too much. Just fish
