Love both your accounts! So inspiring!!
Pick Up Limes my two favorite minimalist+vegan youtubers! Love it 💕
Hi, I come over from "Pick Up Limes", Sadia told us to say Hello........
me too! HI!!!!
Me three :)
I love vinegar for cleaning! I put lemon slices in a glass bottle then pour the vinegar inside and let it marry for one week. This cuts down the strong vinegar smell. When it's ready to use, I add a 1:1 ratio of the citrus vinegar and water into a spray bottle. Works wonders!
If you don't like the smell of vinegar try to add some essential oils to the mixture! :) That's what I do!
Don't forget vinegar is not a registered disinfectant. It only kills 80% of bacteria and does not kill the staphylococcus bacteria among others. Use another cleaner to properly disinfect your surfaces.
I didn't mention that I used it as a disinfectant, just general cleaning - windows, shower, laundry, even as a fruit and vegetable wash. Toilets, sinks, floors, counters etc. get treated with a proper disinfectant.
Sydney Wands Using disinfectants regularly only creates stronger bacteria and viruses. Unless you have an active infection in your household, or you bring in particularly gross stuff like animal products (especially factory farmed ones), or someone in your household has a compromised immune system, using antibacterial and disinfecting products only works to strengthen the germs and weaken your own immune system. That's why hospitals are literal breeding grounds for superbugs. Regular cleaning with vinegar or non-antibacterial soap, and a fair amount of elbow grease is just fine for most household cleaning tasks.
Alex Reith You are completely right. There is a thing as being or having things too clean. We disinfectant maybe once a week and use vinegar the rest of the time. We don't wear shoes in the house and we're very good about washing our hands. I can't even remember the last time any of us were sick. A bit of bacteria is a good thing :)
I really like cleaning and tidying other people's homes, and particularly dirty and cluttered spaces. I just love the "before" and "after" feeling and sense of improvement.
Such a simple, clean, white apartment without too much space and so few objects. Very relaxing just to look at it as are your videos! Enjoying.
Jenny, I’m here to reinforce your point about choosing a specific day of the week for cleaning and to share the benefit of reframing and adopting a positive mindset toward cleaning. I cook, clean, and do my laundry on Sunday. Why? Because it is an act of Extreme Self Care. I am caring for my home. It’s my sanctuary. I am caring for myself by reducing the stress throughout the following week by having nutritious meals handy and avoiding the dreaded question “What’s for dinner?” I enjoy ironing while watching a girly movie. Yes, I enjoy ironing! The motion of ironing can be quite meditative. Caring for my clothes is caring for myself. Plus having clothes in their place and ready to wear makes the start of my weekdays easy and pleasant. I have found that dedicating one specific day also helps me to refine my processes and my time on tasks has been reduced significantly so that I can enjoy relaxation on Sunday as well. I have found that an invitation to do something else on Sunday is a distraction that has consequences throughout the week. Therefore, I consider my Sunday as my sacred time for Extreme Self Care. It’s now a personal boundary that I practise for my overall wellbeing.
Working on less stuff and finding homes for everything. I'm naturally a messy person, but so far it's been really helping get the house under control for the first time!
That last tip is so inspiring, spoil yourself with a delicious meal, candles and flowers when you're done cleaning!
This is great! And I love Pick up limes too. Great colab!
It is so true that creating a habit makes it much easier! You don't even think about it. My favorite is to listen to music as well. I used to hate doing the dishes, but now I actually enjoy it because I get to listen to my favorite music and really get into a sort of meditative state. Thanks so much for sharing! (:
I love this, trying to apply it to our huge house filled with cats and dogs. You're such an inspiration to get rid of unnecessary stuff that makes it feel messy - especially when we have so many animals that loves to spread the stuff around :D
This may sound crazy, but seeing you in this cleaning video was such a pick me up. I've been traveling for over a month and was maybe I'm home sick, but somehow this video made inspired to clean when I get back home. Thanks so much Jenny you are awesome!
I always used to listen to your videos while cleaning my dorm room, which was perfect because you talk about taking care of yourself and your things a lot. Otherwise, I like this Pippi Longstocking song where she sings "städa, städa, varje fredag" ^^
Watching this while I fold my laundry! Very uplifting! Thank you!
I love using vinegar to clean! For tough places and stains, I also use some baking soda with a little bit of water before spraying on the vinegar. So eco friendly and it works SO well!
Miss Mary Lu yes! I love baking soda, if you add lemon to your kitchen or bathroom gunk and then add baking soda it is so easy to clean. Bye bye rust
Hi jenny I'm here because of sadia and I loved your ways for cleaning ..hope you'll post this kind of videos again ..can't wait ..and sadia told to say hello to you from her side :)
hi, thanks for coming over and checking out the video!
I used to absolutely hate cleaning my apartment until I established a routine. Now I spend Sunday mornings on tidying, cleaning, vacuuming and laundry, all while listening to podcasts. That way, I don't have to think about that stuff for the rest of the week! (If I could only remember to clean the bathroom mirror...)
Nothing feels so much better than watching your videos after an stressful day tidying up my place. Love you lots Jenny💖.
4. Barry White! That was a surprise Jenny - playlists though are a must for cleaning. I've often found it makes the process go that much faster.
I always make sure my house is picked up before going to bed, I start everyday with a tidy home and it is very motivating!
I completely adore this style of videos!
Wow i normally never go to another you tubers channel after a collaboration video but I of course trusted you, Jenny, and you did not disappoint! I just binge watched so many of PICK UP LIMES videos, she's amazing! Thank you x
In Germany, where I come from, traditionally saturday is the day for cleaning.
But sd. I realized, that this way half of my WE is gone, and so I switched to friday afternoon (after work).
I like that much better.
And as you said: This way you can look forward to a nice, clean and free weekend..
😊
My mom's cleaning habit is so like yours! And it is a good idea to make sure everything done before left the house or room. Thumbs up for great tips!! 😄
I've been watching both you and David's videos and Sadia's, and I love you guys so much! Such beautifully crips, comforting videos. I've even been dappling in veganism for the last few days. It's been 3 days, and I'm doing well so far. I've also been a minimalist for about a year now. So so so many gains! Thank you Mustards!
I appreciate you & Sadia! Thank you ladies. 💚💚🌱
she looks like shes from the future.. i love it
I miss this Jenny aesthetic
Just came across your channel. I am obsessed with you woman! You speak to much sense! What an inspiration!
So happy you two made a collab! I love you both 💕
hii Jenny! i don't remember if you already do a video like that but i love to see a video: tips against procrastination
I love this collab! It feels so serendipitous when two of your favorite creators make a video together. You have both inspired me so much and changed my life for the better!
I also listen to your podcasts when cleaning the bathroom and it makes the whole process soooo chill because I feel like I'm in a conversation with you! xx
Beautiful video and I agree on the 'cleaning' bit, but it has to be done even as a minimalist. Flowers are what I do or my reward myself after I have done my (Thursday) weekly cleaning. Thank you for the tips!
Thursday is my cleaning day! It works so well and your right Jenny it feels great to enjoy the weekend in a clean space !!+!
Great tips. I clean a room a day and by the weekend it's all done and I can relax. For a 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday office worker I find this more manageable
This is so helpful, I love your style and even incorporated it into my room. And I have to say I feel so much better and happier since going into minimalism and my own style 😍😍
that's so great to hear :))))
simple and sleek. Pick up limes recommended your channel and it was worth watching you. I am a subscriber now.
When I saw both Sadia and your videos got uploaded at the same time when similar titles on my subscription list, I was wondering if it was a collab. It indeed is :D
haha, otherwise a great coinsidence :)
me too ahah
me too :D
Cher Belle Ng same
They were after each other in my subscription box
SAME OMG
I packed my whole house while listening to your videos!
Loved them, they inspired me to declutter and let go of stuff I didn't need.
I discovered your channel from Pick Up Limes, great tips and you both make cleaning sound fun- thanks a lot for that.
Love your space - and rewarding yourself is a good motivator for getting things done, whether it is cleaning or other stuff. Love your videos ❤️
My boyfriend and I split responsibilities too :) He cooks, I am his sous chef and we clean dishes as we go. I do laundry, he does floors. I clean the bathroom, he cleans the kitchen. It's so much easier that way.
Great video! I would love it if you could do a kitchen tour and show us how you organize your kitchen items!
I, too, clean with vinegar just like many others. Wishing you both a merry Christmas and a great 2021.
Sadia brings me here and I don't regret my choice to follow her. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! And thank you for your tips
This makes me want to spend the whole day tidying up
I came here, from Sadia's Pick Up Limes. You guys were so inspirational.
I once worked as a chamber maid. Secret: to quickly get chemical-free and streek free mirrors take a towel dipped in warm water and wipe it in broad up or down strokes over mirror. Then use the dry part of the towel and do the same. The result should look perfect. If not, it will be because there is chemical residue on the mirror. Don't worry, wash this away with washing up liquid. I generally use eco friendly washing up liquid on most surfaces as it is better for health and the environment. 🙂
When I moved into my first apartment, to safe space and money I used only 2 products to clean. I make up a solution of 1:1 vinegar and water, with 10 drops teatree in a spray bottle and I keep one bottle in my kitchen and one in my bathroom. The other product is a toilet cleaner for that extra sparkle. The vinegar cleaner is very safe for most surfaces and environments and leaves the room feeling very airy and fresh ❤
I absolutely love your collabs with pick up limes 💕💕💕💕
Collaboration of both of my favourite UA-camrs! My life is complete 🙌🏼
I'm a big fan of both your channels. Great collab!
I actually enjoy cleaning! Everything except the toilet and the dishes haha. It’s so satisfying to enjoy a clear, clean space afterwords :) great video!
You guys never fail to give me new tips! I always listen to your videos when I'm cleaning, the background music and information are so relaxing.
One of my issues was always keeping up with my dishes. I know I am sometimes too lazy to do it straight after I eat, so now I created the rule that the dishes have to be gone by the end of the day. I know it still leaves a bit of a mess, but I just can't motivate myself enough.. Any tips for that?
Aaaahhh, I'm in love with this collab!! Both of you are extremely inspiring and create such quality content. Thank you for adding value to our lives!
aaaw thank you sweetie !!
Pick up limes brought me here. Love both these videos 🙆🏻🙆🏻
I don't know how I haven't found this video until now. I've been watching your channel for a couple years. Love them. Love this topic! :)
I needed these tips; my apartment is a disaster. And love seeing a collab from my two favorite creators!!
You got me... I love the videos and, of course, the podcasts! You and David are my "doing the dishes" mates.
Lots of love from Brazil!
Actually, I'm hearing your tips while I'm cleaning!
Congratulations for your channel. All the content is helpful and interesting. Thank you for sharing your lifestyle with us.
I am following these from the beginning..feels good to find myself right in this case..
Yeyyyyy 😄
Your videos are always a breath of fresh air ❣️❣️❣️❣️
We don't mind cleaning our flat. It has become a contemplative exercise, being mindful to do the most efficient job we can, and like you we share the tasks.
While my partner cleans the bathroom, I tidy away belongings, (usually my partner's!)dust surfaces and move our few pieces of furniture to the side for my partner to come through and vacuum and put things back.
Then we usually share the kitchen cleaning. I cook, she cleans on a daily basis. Once a week we share the kitchen jobs, usually on a Friday and just nefore we go to collect our organic vegetable basket from a nearby market garden initiative. The fridge is then ready and wiped down for the next week's food.
Every two months we add in the 6 windows we have, sharing them out to 3 each. If theres some major garden work to do, I will cover the windows while my partner gets on with a different job.
We've been in our current home just over a year, and I have more or less found where things belong for most efficient access, use and storage. ALL the organisation is my job, my partner is hopeless at it. She just puts things back but I decide where they go:)
Yes! I always listen to you guys when I do dishes and put on makeup 💜
*Jenny, a wonderful light spirit you and Sadia both convey in your presentations!* ... _and an exquisite aesthetic feel to boot! I’m very happy to see you all collaborating ... our Zeitgeist, alas, is dour and daunting, and many challenges lie ahead as the elites begin to squeeze us into a mould. Resourcefulness, minimalism, solidarity, inner and outer markers of unassailable freedom: these are among the foremost virtues to cultivate in the difficult times ahead, and that inner light, of course: here Samatha (Tranquillity) or Vipassana (Insight) meditation will be to many of us incalculably important. The Buddha, when he advised people to meditate, said go and do jhana... the verb ‘jayate’ was used here (to burn with a steady flame): for the mind to become unbelievably tranquil, peaceful and happy! A noble enterprise, since there is not an atom of volatility; it remains forever, only deepening in its strength! I wish you that Bliss!_
Hej Jenny! Hello from Denmark, love your channels (also The Mustards of course) I was wondering if you have some links to the cleaning products or maybe you could do a video on what you use to clean what with🌱 thank you so much for what you guys do, you are so hygge to watch
You're so amazingly much more organized than me x) I oftn bribe myself with a glass (or five) of wine while cleaning, blast the music, and suddenly it's escalated to not only cleaning but reorganizing the closets, repainting some furniture or some other large project x) kinda therapheutic though
I always get in the mood to tidy and clean when i listen to the clash. No idea why, though :DSo happy to see two of my favourite youtubers collab!
The background jazz tune you selected is super nice. P.S. Vinegar works great in the dishwasher to get calcium stains off the glassware too.
Watched pick up limes first today. I think I originally found her after watching several videos of you and David. Thanks for your truth. Thanks for your sharing.
Thank you so much, these are priceless tips (Not to mention how much more desirable cleaning will be when I get to reward myself afterwards) Found your channel through Pick Up Limes. Oh, and Sadia says hi.
I came over from Pick up Limes. Great tips! I too hate cleaning... Your home is beautiful.
my mother always had us tidy things up but one cleaning task a day. Friday would be sweet and mop the floors, Wednesday would be wipe all windows and mirrors down, etc. That way the house always constantly try cleaned but there wasn't one day we all dressed because if hours cleaning.
I am from pick up limes and I love both of your channels
Hello from Sadia and hello from me. Great tips! Thank you for putting some positive into cleaning :)
I always keep Disposable towels on hand! Always! You never know when a nasty spill might disturb all that hard work of tidying up.
Hi, came from Sadia's channel over here, double bonanza for me who loves the positive vibes from Sadia, happy to find you as well. Love d your video. Watching more now. Thanks! Keep spreading positive air. ❤️
This might sound weird, but of all the places I prefer to clean, the bathroom is my top choice. That's not to say that I'm in love with cleaning the bathroom but I feel it is the area that I clean best. I have a betta fish, and he requires a water bowl change every 1 to1-1/2 weeks, so I schedule my bathroom cleaning on the same day, and it helps me to keep me on track. Still trying to find a way to keep my other spaces clean, but I think a large part of that requires some decluttering. So, I'll be re-watching more of your minimalist/decluttering videos to inspire me. Thank you, as always! -a bientot
Ah, without kids it has to be crazy easy to keep your apartment clean... Jealous!
I've just watched Darci Isabella's channel, and she's a minimalist with 10 kids. 10 kids of her own. Worth a gander , if you want some light-hearted entertainment and shoot-from-the-hip usable tips for parents. 😊
I'll have a look, though I'm pretty sure it's too late for us. I can't imagine getting rid of all the toys (and we keep getting more and more). Also, how do you make kids put away their stuff? ;)
With 6 kids regularly making/crafting/building/playing in our small home, we make sure they toys they have are ones they love, and they are responsible for keeping them in good condition and cleaning them up. I guess the responsibility for less might help ? Having too much is overwhelming for everyone. Good luck!
I come from a family of hoarders so it's like a revelation to me that you might not want as much stuff as possible. When we started the whole parenting thing, we were like: Hey, guys, we're having a baby and we'll accept anything you'll give us. And so it came: heaps and heaps of clothes, many times more than we needed. Huge boxes of toys. All in a 40-meter apartment O_O When the second baby came, it became too much, we started to put the boxes away in our parents' attic (hoarders don't throw things away, mind you ;)). I will get the hang of this minimalism thing!
Asia Pietrulewicz I was just thinking, "She must not have kids."
I love both of your channels!! so excited that you guys work together!
Jenny Mustard I just love your videos! You and David seem like really cool, down to earth people. Also loved the collab vids with Pick Up Limes. She has great videos too 👍
To pick up thins when you leave a room is a great tip! Really hard to continue doing though... :) Great content as always!
Hi Jenny, I'd love your thoughts on how to wrap gifts minimalist style.
Jenny -- i would love to see a tour of your mugs and functional items. i am very inspired by your items, they are so curious and modern. i would love to know where to buy such things, esp as a canadian!
I know this vid is from 2 years ago, but I'm over from PICK UP LIMES, and I have subscribed!
Got here through Pick Up Limes. Very cool!
I love pick up limes! Great collab.
i saw that you both posted similar videos and i already have them both opened in different tabs, it's so cute that you're collabing! i love you both
I don’t consider myself minimalist, but seeing your videos I have a lot of routines that fit into minimalist lifestyle. One that I pray is to no have unnecessary storage, here is why: if you have a empty drawer you have the “need” to fill it with something. Less storage options, less junk you accumulate.
When I don't feel like cleaning, I just watch this video :D. Very inspirational. Mindful greetings, Simple Happy Zen
Pick Up Limes brought me here!
Ahh!! Two of my favorite UA-camrs collabing! 😍😍😍
Ahh your videos are so calming and inspiring to watch...needed this little bit of motivation!
you've got such a gorgeous style💎 love your videos! thanks for sharing 😊
Very true about how the place you first put something becomes its home. I noticed that when we moved. Things got put away where they fit. Only now, two years later, I'm looking at where things are and wondering "why do we keep that there? It would be more efficient to move it to here."
My cleaning tip; do it at the time of the day when you have the most energy. For me that's early morning before the sun comes up. For other people it might be in the evening.
❤️❤️❤️ the collaboration! That's how I found your channel!
