The logic implies that this tester can identify them. Unfortunately I don't have any IGBTs with me at the moment and I cannot check.

Mine T7 shows K40T120 (IGBT 1200v 75A) as diode, all 4 of them :) the same with 47N60C3 (MOSFET 650V 47A), device has not enough voltage to open them, low voltage bipolar transistors are shown fine.
Good question. Well, it only has 3 testing leads. This means that you cannot connect all 4 pins of the rectifier bridge at once. But you can connect it twice in sets of 3 terminals and make 2 different tests in order to verify all of the diodes inside. For instance, you can connect the - ~ + pins to 123, test, and then connect the other ~ pin in the - ~ + configuration to 123 and test. The screen should show 1 --->|--- 2 --->|--- 3 in both cases and display the forward voltage of each diode.
I love this thing. I'm guessing the strip of three connected pins that comes with this thing is for self-testing (and maybe it does calibration at the same time) when pushed into 1, 2, and 3.
Yes, or you can take the pins apart from the metallic strip and just use them to build yourself some clip leaded wires to help you test larger components.

With older models, when they having problem to identify ex transistors, i use to swap them around so the pinout is connected in reverse or some other order in the testers socket, and most of the time that helped the tester to correctly identify the right component every time.. This feels like a halfbaked bug in my opinion but i dont know the real reason for why this works almost every time the tester is confused...
Measure discrepancy for the low RDS (sub 100mOhms) is most likely heavily influenced by the contact resistance of the plug/header connection. Just a guess.

Maybe you use a weird remote that uses a very new transmission protocol, or something. It would be interesting to take it and decode it using a real oscilloscope and see what it does.

I don't know. Ask the manufacturer. In the video I used a new(ish) mosfet that I just took out of the box. So technically it should have had the proper RDSon.
Well the issue is, fake mosfet is commonly sold in my country (Indonesia) that some sellers need to add title like "original mosfet" to convince people to buy it, the reason why I'd like to buy this LCR tool. Both assumed issues (inaccurate LCR or fake mosfet) rooted from single source: made in china products. I think i'lll still buy the LCR and do manual compare for the result with my digital multimeter (which is, china's made too..lol)

it is crap protection.it brakes if it is a smallest charge in a cap and it is broken and has to swap a componet and a smd diode. same as tc 1-.The best and solid tester with fuction gen etc is transistor tester esr02 pro.real good tetser.Just swap pluss and minus at power jack input if you want it to be positive in the middle pin as most devices have

It was making very good contact. The MOSFET was having thicker leads and I literally had to force it in. I didn't want to turn the leverage and clip it in place. I was afraid I was going to bend the contacts inside the socket if I do so.
Yes, it does. I had several cases when this tester couldn't identify them properly and instead it was mistaking them for MOSFETS. Moreover, of course, IGBTs are very vast. They come in different internal structures. I expect that maybe beyond some certain sizes or parameters it will not be able to tell them appart anymore.

Mine LCRT7 just arrived today and i just test two IGBTs now their numbers are RJP63K2 and 30F132 both TO-220P, the 1st one tested ok by the LCR meter showing all parameters and the symbol but 2nd one is just showing capacitor and its value connected to two terminal that shows in the LCR meter, what do u think?
I think mostly all IGBTs have the inbuilt reverse protection diode installed between emitter and colector. And the T7 tester shoud detect at least that diode and the Gate capacitance. If I would test an IGBT and find that it behaves like a capacity between two of the pins (G to E) and I don't see anything with the third pin, I would say the IGBT is bad.

Like I say in the video. It has good parts and downsides all together. It is better than T4 in my opinion but given the fact that it’s only 20$ it cannot compete with other fancier and more expensive tools on the market. It can be used by all sorts of technicians and engineers from beginner to advanced level but I don’t expect this tool to be used in industrial design.

I was wondering about this too, but luckily most capacitors have ESR in the ohm range. So values under 100 mOhms are not so important.

Nice video. How to show the IR decoder? I have a similar model but it only shows a blinking dot on the display without the decoded info.

does it test darlintons?,my old atmel 328 one would report a tip122 as max hfe of 40!

I have the pcb only but it measures mosfet capacitance not well, it is double the normal value. if does not igbt and darlingtons.
