Honestly I adored this game as a tween - teen, and still do now despite the dated graphics. It was the first game where I could actually play within a comic world I was obsessed with and NOT have to be Batman to do it. Making an original hero or villain was an absolute highlight for me, and to be able to fight iconic heroes and villains was just awesome. I do wish that they'd make something similar for the Marvel Universe, except wirh updated graphics and more customisation 👀

Nothing would change, except the playerbase would be populated by a tribe different than yours. There's a shit ton of terrible, bad, good, amazing DC and Marvel games. When something is has popular as these IPs, their games only fail beacuse of publishers and/or dev studios.

Just came back to this today, haven’t played for 10yrs. It used to be epic having full blown server wars in the openworld but i doubt anything like that happens any more. Good times.
one thing i dissapointed with the game right now is i cant get back to my old account....its completly gone, all the hardwork all the raid achievement and all the item that i collected is now gone...
the "white lantern" is an indigo lantern. uses the emotion of compassion. can use the abilities of any lantern she's nearby. one of my favorites . green lantern john stewart is a part of them for a bit.
The combat mechanics, controls, movement options, open world (especially when it was lit in the early teens), pvp (when it was alive) and power options are freaking fantastic and I'm hard pressed to find an mmorpg that can imitate it's flexibility and uniqueness.
Tip for all players: UA-cam what load out to use for your power. (Use range single target load out unless your a tank) Learn your secondary role. Look up what ally’s and artifacts to use for your role (yes there are right and wrong ones) join a league that can talk to you and help you learn. Do alerts/raids to focus on feats together. Get as many skill points from feats as you can they make you hit stronger. Make friends not enemy’s-(yes everyone thinks they are better than you, prove them wrong though). Just some tips

Game will always hold memories for me, I remember having to stay at my friend house sometimes everyday after school and once we finished our homework wed play dc for hours just customizing characters n trying out all the different powers n builds we could. Wish they’d give it a slight redesign for gameplay mechanics but i still love it.

Interesting seeing the hand blasts with electric abilities. Back when I played I used them with immolation/fire.... You could switch weapons for free back when I played, you just needed to collect them. I'm glad I didn't drop any money into this and stayed on the F2P end of everything. Once the story was over, the end game grind didn't hook me and I dropped the game. Went back a couple of times as the console eras changed. I started playing this on PS3 and last tried it right before PS5 came out. Seeing that the pay to win aspects just increased over time, I'm happy with what I got out of it while I played. Sank a lot of hours into getting most of the Feats and collection items. Marvel Heroes Omega was great, but I didn't get much time with that one. When they announced the game server was going offline, I ground out the platinum for PS4 and then moved on. If something similar ever comes out again, I would definitely give it a try. Superhero MMO's can be a lot of fun when the story is good.

It’s super cool and better than My Hero Ultra Rumble. I can actually customize my character. Not stock skins. Not a fan of that. But DC Universe Online has that.
It’s an MMO lol the grind is the game it’s not supposed to end and it’s not hard to play well just salvage your gear upgrade your augments and artifacts and the game will give you the gear to play. Honestly a chill time if you know what you’re doing Also I noticed on your utility belt you have 3 colas when you could have henchmen or sidekicks, an orbital strike which does massive damage, and a buff you also wanna look at ally’s
What grind? Have you tried lost ark or black desert online? The grind is real there makes DC like small puppy not to mention hundreds And thousands of dollars pay to win for Korean mmo. DC is budget mmo for people that don't want to spend too much $$

I can’t believe they canceled the Marvel MMO for mobile games lmfao. This is still one of my fav games of all time I just want it to look and play next Gen and that’s what marvel mmo was going to be. Hopefully they announce it again soon we need a superhero game like this
For weapon changing you don't technically have to pay for it with USD, there's a respec station that allows you redo your Stat points if you want to pick a different weapon later down the road
All episodes/new areas are free to enter now. If you are a lower level the area will increase your level to the bare minimum while inside it. This gives new players a chance to see the new content without undermining the grind to be stronger.
Last time i played was 6 years ago and i swear i was waiting in tier 6,7,8 quenes for hours. It felt very dead. Its probably my fav mmorpg. Fun memories
Played DC since after the hack on PS3. Few things I would like to add. I think the grindy aspect of the game has nothing to do with the content itself, but the frequency of the release of content. I can't speak as of the last 6 months as I had stopped playing, but In the beginning, when there were no replay badges, content drops were several months apart. It would usually take a 2-3 months to get all the tier gear doing your weekly raids and daily's. That's not a grind that is a steady pace. In contrast to what we have had more recently where content drops were monthly and with replay badges people were grinding out their entire gear set in a week. It was cool at first, but overtime the burnout became real and people were fatigued trying to keep up with every installment. Also with the more frequent releases they seemed to have gotten lazy and just kept reusing old content. How many times can I see the same Themyscira, the same flash museum, the same bat cave, etc. Next we have the current balance of roles, these days it's very DPS heavy, running just one healer, one tank, and maybe there is a controller if needed. Really kind of killed the necessity of role players in most instances but raids with the introduction of pets, artifacts, base perks and sockets, etc. Thirdly, I would agree that the game has become to complicated for new players. There is so much to learn about bases, halls, weapons, powers, skill points, artifacts, sockets. I can see that being overwhelming for fresh players. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I kind of miss how simple the game was pre game update 40.
The Red Death does look pretty cool. And even if you did not have the Shoulders and Boots.... he looked Great!. ;) Glad to see someone use the Bruce Wayne Ally.... The most powerful Ally of them all.... and you get it for Free. ;) Friendly hint; You have to raise your fallen comrades..... that is why you were the only one left alive. ;) And sadly.... you Almost did do the worst. You barely did more damage then the Healer or Tank.... :( But lucky for you.... the Troll did even worse.... he barely gave any power and barely did any damage. So at least you did better then the Troll. ;) ;)
I really don’t like the stat clamp approach to all game modes they’ve added. There’s no point in progression if you’re always going dragged down. It’s great for newbies and lower levels but not great for people who are ahead and sank a lot of money. Stat clamps should be optional
6:30 Indigo Lantern* 😊 She's called Indigo 1, the leader of the Corp, this Corp drawn power from Compassion, they can use the powers of nearby lanterns from other Corps, they use a staff instead of rings and the members are more or less brainwashed from it, somebody can correct me on that, I'm not so sure lol
I play this game on the regular since i love the grinding aspects of it (I wouldn't recommend playing it for pvp but if you want a competitive version of the game since pvp is trash you can comp people aka see who gets the most damage in a raid via scoreboard) this game overall is a 7/10
If only the combat was like avengers smh I’d never play another superhero game. They gotta rework the combat mechanics because the impact from attacks just feel like a mobile game. It should feel like god of war

DCUO: that needs work 1. leveling: too much grinding 2. graphics: game is pretty old and there are lots of new gaming engines that can handle better graphics 3. abilities: there are alot of powers and abilities that are missing in the game 4. customization: the customization is old and needs an update
The open world pvp was just great, me and a couple of noob new players started on a superman high level person he hit hard and didn't take much damage but we worked together to take him down, after that we where on the run cause he wasn't happy, the pay to play or win stopped me from getting really into the story tho, hit a paywall and just didnt bother.
i started this game in like 2016 and played until around 2022 off and on. the grind never stopped. the game needs a f*cking remake though, its a ps3 game on ue3 in 2024. crazy its still alive but remaking it or doing a sequel would be so much better
For all the hate I've seen this game recieve since it came out, it's always had one simple thing that, in my eyes, put it miles ahead of the competition. Every piece of gear that has a new look will give you that look as a cosmetic, for free, just by equiping the item. No other mmo that Ive played does that, and it REALLY should have been made a standard feature by now.
I used to play this game ALL the time. A friend told me about it and I was addicted. One day we all just stopped playing. I remember the new thing at the time was bombshells paradox. So sometime in 2015 is the last time I played. Sometimes I look back and miss it and think how it would be now. But never re download it.
I remember over 8 years ago I used to play it and I can't tell if I loved the game of the diversity of gear, that kept me playing. But it's sadly left with the same average graphics and gameplay style, and i can't see why I loved it honestly. It's a P2P with a choppy wierd play style.
I'm tempted to play the game a bit again. Gonna be a Hero, Dual Pistols weapon, Arsenal power set, and probably mentored by Batman for irony's sake (Given Red Hood was altogether NOT Bruce's intended outcome for Jason Todd). Thematically I think Acrobatics would be best for the movement type.
Was great when it launched. Before pay to win elements. Game died cus they never raised the level cap. Never added new skills, just expected you to keep grinding for the next piece of gear
I still play DC and enjoy it. Some of the criticism I think are valid and some aren’t. This games isn’t nearly as grindy as people make it seem. I play FF14 online and other mmos and let me tell you 😂. It depends on what you want to do and who you play with. You can get max CR in about a few weeks but SP is different and there are many resources to help you “ grind” for a very long time I spent zero dollars on this game except to buy dlc and powers but that was it. Was still able to do endgame content and now all the DLC is free so you don’t even have to spend money if you don’t want to

I think u had to pay for it back in the day I paid for my green lantern I think it was five bucks at the time I spent money. Long time ago when I first got the game . I think that’s about it to spend more than 15$ on this game at once is kinda crazy but to each they own
Imagine being one of the original power sets in the game then finding out that now it’s a free to play power and it’s now the weakest power only after being one of the strongest. The game should start like it did originally 30 day free then you have to pay but the game is definitely too expensive to play any more.
Yeah that does suck but they gotta get your money somehow it is a free game best advice is to take your time n really think on how u wanna go about your character…. As long as you love your character you will enjoy the game before it gets boring lol
Sadly... there is a lot more DPS...... not enough people play the other roles. No one wants to be the battery giving people Power.... Or being a walking Stimpack healing people. So most players are DPS. Not the game's fault.... they cannot force people to play Healer or Troll if they don't want to.
I loved this game, but stopped playing because every leagues I tried to chill in, made it a chore to play the game, and get those stat points up. I had something like 300-350 (been a while). And they still wanted me to play all the time, and get the points up. It’s like, bro, if I max out my character then what? We get to play the game? Lol Mind you this one league I was in, I earned 100 points in less than a month grinding my ass off, and they still pestered me about it. Most of it was collections from the broker, but quite a bit of it was do this thing 2,000 (no joke) times.
I have not played this since 2017 if not longer and this is still one of the wildest games Ive played, and strangle everytime I see it I get the urge to play it but, eh

Played DC since after the hack on PS3. Few things I would like to add. I think the grindy aspect of the game has nothing to do with the content itself, but the frequency of the release of content. I can't speak as of the last 6 months as I had stopped playing, but In the beginning, when there were no replay badges, content drops were several months apart. It would usually take a 2-3 months to get all the tier gear doing your weekly raids and daily's. That's not a grind that is a steady pace. In contrast to what we have had more recently where content drops were monthly and with replay badges people were grinding out their entire gear set in a week. It was cool at first, but overtime the burnout became real and people were fatigued trying to keep up with every installment. Also with the more frequent releases they seemed to have gotten lazy and just kept reusing old content. How many times can I see the same Themyscira, the same flash museum, the same bat cave, etc. Next we have the current balance of roles, these days it's very DPS heavy, running just one healer, one tank, and maybe there is a controller if needed. Really kind of killed the necessity of role players in most instances but raids with the introduction of pets, artifacts, base perks and sockets, etc. Thirdly, I would agree that the game has become to complicated for new players. There is so much to learn about bases, halls, weapons, powers, skill points, artifacts, sockets. I can see that being overwhelming for fresh players. Maybe it's nostalgia, but I kind of miss how simple the game was pre game update 40.
Def miss the old days, started right after you didnt have to "pay" for the game to own it. (Remember that?) Not having to grind so much was nice

I really don’t like the stat clamp approach to all game modes they’ve added. There’s no point in progression if you’re always going dragged down. It’s great for newbies and lower levels but not great for people who are ahead and sank a lot of money. Stat clamps should be optional

(I wouldn't recommend playing it for pvp but if you want a competitive version of the game since pvp is trash you can comp people aka see who gets the most damage in a raid via scoreboard)

I’m returning today after being gone since 2017. I’m a little overwhelmed so far with how much has changed.

DCUO: that needs work
1. leveling: too much grinding
2. graphics: game is pretty old and there are lots of new gaming engines that can handle better graphics
3. abilities: there are alot of powers and abilities that are missing in the game
4. customization: the customization is old and needs an update
The open world pvp was just great, me and a couple of noob new players started on a superman high level person he hit hard and didn't take much damage but we worked together to take him down, after that we where on the run cause he wasn't happy, the pay to play or win stopped me from getting really into the story tho, hit a paywall and just didnt bother.
i started this game in like 2016 and played until around 2022 off and on. the grind never stopped. the game needs a f*cking remake though, its a ps3 game on ue3 in 2024. crazy its still alive but remaking it or doing a sequel would be so much better
DC universe is the main reason why i love healing in every MMO ❤

For all the hate I've seen this game recieve since it came out, it's always had one simple thing that, in my eyes, put it miles ahead of the competition.
Every piece of gear that has a new look will give you that look as a cosmetic, for free, just by equiping the item. No other mmo that Ive played does that, and it REALLY should have been made a standard feature by now.
I used to play this game ALL the time. A friend told me about it and I was addicted. One day we all just stopped playing. I remember the new thing at the time was bombshells paradox. So sometime in 2015 is the last time I played. Sometimes I look back and miss it and think how it would be now. But never re download it.
I remember over 8 years ago I used to play it and I can't tell if I loved the game of the diversity of gear, that kept me playing. But it's sadly left with the same average graphics and gameplay style, and i can't see why I loved it honestly. It's a P2P with a choppy wierd play style.

Last time I played, water powers just had come out. Haven’t played since. The game still looks like it’s running on PS3, an HD remake.
I'm tempted to play the game a bit again. Gonna be a Hero, Dual Pistols weapon, Arsenal power set, and probably mentored by Batman for irony's sake (Given Red Hood was altogether NOT Bruce's intended outcome for Jason Todd). Thematically I think Acrobatics would be best for the movement type.
Was great when it launched. Before pay to win elements. Game died cus they never raised the level cap. Never added new skills, just expected you to keep grinding for the next piece of gear
I still play DC and enjoy it. Some of the criticism I think are valid and some aren’t. This games isn’t nearly as grindy as people make it seem. I play FF14 online and other mmos and let me tell you 😂. It depends on what you want to do and who you play with. You can get max CR in about a few weeks but SP is different and there are many resources to help you “ grind” for a very long time I spent zero dollars on this game except to buy dlc and powers but that was it. Was still able to do endgame content and now all the DLC is free so you don’t even have to spend money if you don’t want to
ye fax i just came back and picked up on my old lvl 30 acc i always was always clueless when i was younger on how to lvl up but recently i’ve finally started getting higher touched cr100 for the first time im still a lil confused on what to do w the raids n stuff but the progress is quick if yk what your doing

I think u had to pay for it back in the day I paid for my green lantern I think it was five bucks at the time I spent money. Long time ago when I first got the game . Let me know if I can my character slots r full
@@ednygma7466 ok but let’s say you have to pay for the lantern cus I’m not sure you can either buy green lantern powers or buy a 1 month membership and during that month make different combinations of characters till u find a set that works for you. But that’s only if u don’t like the powers available and or if you want the skimming movement ability
But after that that’s it . Oh yeah and u can make a league if u got a membership. I think that’s about it to spend more than 15$ on this game at once is kinda crazy but to each they own

Imagine being one of the original power sets in the game then finding out that now it’s a free to play power and it’s now the weakest power only after being one of the strongest. The game should start like it did originally 30 day free then you have to pay but the game is definitely too expensive to play any more.

Here is way I stopped playing….there queue up system just matches you up with random players and guess what everyone usually is….a dps.
Sadly... there is a lot more DPS...... not enough people play the other roles.
No one wants to be the battery giving people Power....
Or being a walking Stimpack healing people.
So most players are DPS.
Not the game's fault.... they cannot force people to play Healer or Troll if they don't want to.

I loved this game, but stopped playing because every leagues I tried to chill in, made it a chore to play the game, and get those stat points up. I had something like 300-350 (been a while). And they still wanted me to play all the time, and get the points up. It’s like, bro, if I max out my character then what? We get to play the game? Lol
Mind you this one league I was in, I earned 100 points in less than a month grinding my ass off, and they still pestered me about it. Most of it was collections from the broker, but quite a bit of it was do this thing 2,000 (no joke) times.
