I was glad for this old mountain tune to show up again. Good musicians led by Jim’s fiddle. Your guitar and his son’s mandolin ad so much. I always watch on an iPad - as a lawyer, I find them to be wonderful help. They only last 2-3 years; so I, have the latest big model with a great screen. The video for this clip is stunning in its colors, clarity, and sharpness. So good to see.
Once again...absolutely awesome! My granddaughter is watching with me and dancing like crazy! She is 3 and loves your music! Thanks, guys, for sharing your gifts.
Hey Barry, thanks for coming by. We sure appreciate your visit, and hope all is well down under.....haven't been there in about 40 years, but sure loved it when I was...*ron
Fantastic version of the tune. Fiddling, mandolin and your picking Ron are all excellent. Kudos to the camera operator too to get you all in when doing your solos - I think that we need someone like that!
Great music !! This old fiddler can't get enuf, especially Jim's fiddling that I've tried to play along for the last couple of years. Keep it coming. Roy Carlson SW Mich
Hi Ron, Thank you so much for sharing this great old fiddle tune with us, I enjoyed your performance very much, great music of all the musicians, my compliments to you all!! 5***** - our best wishes to you all, have a happy weekend. Dearest greetings from Chris and Mayka - The Netherlands - Europe - UA-cam chrismayka.
You sure would help our little group with your great banjo pickin', i'm always impressed to watch you. Like you , I never get tired off this old tune, but I usually just play rhythm, but thought I would give it a try...thanks for taking time to watch...*ron
Hey Marsha, I sure would like to have seen your granddaughter dancing to our music...that would have been great, makes me smile to think about it...lol..bring her back any ol' time and let her get down!!...thanks for coming by..*ron
Hey Roy! We're sure glad to have come by and have a listen. Yeah, Jim seems to be starting to get the hang of it...lol..Thank for visiting Roy, and thanks for the comment..*ron
Hi Chuck, thanks for coming by. I'm using a flat pick and playing a 1976 HD-28 Martin guitar. Since a fiddle is very loud, you need a guitar that will really boom to hold your own with them. This one fills the bill although I trouble holding on to the pick, so I use a round plastic pick, which doesn't help the tone ...*ron
Hey Ron me old mate You sent an answer to me blessing my kindness But I've never made a comment on any of your tunes for ages. Mind you I've had another earhole to this again and I much enjoyed it. Hope you're not going senile like me friend lol. Stay well and long days and pleasant nights to you and yours.
@MrHarryt8 lol..Well, that would be a good place to start, but you're off by about two miles to the north...This is mountnmonkey's place, but we're still real glad to see ya here, and very much appreciate your visit...*ron
Hey Jack, we sure thank you for your kind comment and I'll pass your kudos along to the camera operator. He is my next door neighbor who had never used a camera 'till I bought this one. He's been a big help to us...*ron
Hey NAncy, we'd rather see ya late than never..lol..I've had so many glithes in the tube lately...I'm about ready to give up..My comments, messages, and replies won't always post, comment on our tunes disappear, sometimes when I try to reply, and you can't reply just from email alert..must be able to see comment under tune...what a mess....lol..thanks for visiting..
@@mountnmonkey excellent!! All my fiddle people are saying it should be in cross-tuning. But I am not into that at this point. Glad to know it's possible to play this tune in standard tuning! 🥰🎻🎶

well ron, this is by far my favorite of your postings i've heard so far. sent it to favorites before it was half over. the way you pick is the way i hope to some day but i'm not a natural and need LOTS of practice. was wondering if you are holding a flat pick or wearing a thumb pick. also, which guitar is that. has a great tone and punch. five stars, be well, chuck.
